50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO WEAR THE COLOR BLOCK TREND | FASHION OVER 40It is good to be back in Virginia. I think that Joe missed me and was glad to have us back home. He has to take care of the animals while I am gone, and that is never a good thing. When you aren’t used to doing those daily activities, things can slip through the cracks. He will let Lucy outside to go to the bathroom, but he forgets to let her back inside. He left and went to work, and when he came back four hours later, Lucy was sitting on the front porch. Thankfully Lucy knows where to go and wait for someone to let her inside.
My daughter’s cat (Tom) hasn’t warmed up to Joe fully yet. Ashleigh had told me that the cat didn’t like men, but she didn’t warn me about how he would show his displeasure. Joe has a horrible habit of throwing his clothes on the floor. There are times when he has to dodge the clothes hamper to make sure that the clothes hit the floor. Lol! When I am home, I am continually picking the clothes up and then dropping them in the hamper. And, when I am home, I put Tom into the room where he sleeps, and I shut the door to keep him inside until the next morning when I feed him. Joe didn’t do any of that, so Tom showed his displeasure by using the bathroom on Joe’s clothes. I know that I shouldn’t laugh, and I dread hearing him fuss about the cat, but I still thought it was hilarious. That is one way to get him to put his clothes in the hamper. Hahahaha!
50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO WEAR THE COLOR BLOCK TREND | FASHION OVER 40 It is also great to finally have weather cool enough to wear some of my fall clothing. I have several new fall outfits, but it has been so hot that I couldn’t even take pictures without melting. I bought this color-block cardigan when Nordstrom was having their Anniversary Sale back a few months ago, so it isn’t available on the website any longer. However, I found several that are very similar for you to see.

There is something about Leopard print that makes me want to wear it more in the fall. It might be the colors of Leopard print since it is deep gold, browns, and black.

50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO WEAR THE COLOR BLOCK TREND | FASHION OVER 40Even though it is fall, you can still wear your cropped pants and jeans. I love rolling my jeans up for a different look and then pairing them with ankle boots or loafers. The pair that I have on today is from the Loft. You can buy cropped jeans, or you can choose to put a small cuff on full-length jeans for the same effect.

Interesting you are having the giveaway for telling people about your blog (and signing up for your email). Last week when I was helping my son and daughter-in-law pack for a move, we had lots of time to talk and I was telling my daughter-in-law about your blog. That night she checked it out and signed up for your email too. She loves reading your blog and loves your sense of humor! ?

I tell my friends about following you! I have told several already. I have a question, do they need to sign up to receive daily emails for it to count on the Monday give away?

  6. I love the outfit, especially the beautiful colors of the cardigan. At our house, we all have our own hampers, and no one ever leaves their clothes on the floor. Maybe Joe needs a hamper with his name engraved on it.

    1. Angie, his hamper would stay empty! lol!

    1. He has to try to miss the hamper, Nancy. I swear that he does it on purpose. Lol!
