Today, I got in the mood to do some baking. I honestly don’t have the time or patience to do a lot of cooking, but I will occasionally decide to rattle the pans a little. My Energizer Bunny Friend is a wonderful cook, and she is all of the time posting photos of her meals that she has made. She believes in fixing an appetizer, a 3-coarse meal, and a dessert. That ship has sailed at this house, and Joe is lucky if he gets ice in his drink. Lol!

If you’ve seen a picture of us, then you know that we are not starving by any stretch of the imagination. But, today, I decided to try and make him a treat since he is very understanding of my work. So, I got dusted off my recipe books and found a cheesecake recipe that was always delicious and easy to make. I had just taken the cheesecake out of the oven to cool when he came home. The cheesecake had been cooling for about 15 minutes, but I wanted to put it in the refrigerator to get cold before we cut on it. Well, that didn’t happen! He had the cake sliced and inhaled before I could even protest. Lol! Plus, dang his hide, I didn’t get to take a photo of my pretty accomplishment to show everyone. You gurls will have to take my word that it was stunning, and Joe pronounced it delicious. Lol!

I love this black smocked tank top that I just got. It looks like satin, but it is 100% polyester, so there is no dry cleaning involved. This tank is very chic looking, but it will look great worn casually with jeans and a cardigan. I like that the top is flowy, so I don’t have to worry about lumps and bumps showing, and I love the deep v-neck, which is very flattering for almost everyone. I am wearing a size medium in this top, and it is plenty roomy for me. This top comes in five more colors, and I just ordered the brown one that looks like dark champagne to me.

What was the first thing that caught your attention when you saw my outfit? Was it the top, the handbag, the tan blazer, the beautiful black pumps, or the striking animal print pants? I am betting that for most of you, it was the pants. They are what I would call the “star of the show.” I love these pants, and I usually don’t wear animal prints on my lower half. But, this pant if stretchy and feels fantastic. However, I ordered these pants in my usual size 10, and they are too loose on me, so I’ve sent them back and reordered them in size 8 instead. I can’t wait to wear these with a brightly colored top later this fall, that will look GREEAT! Lol! Did you say that like Tony the Tiger???

My Coach black pumps are several years old. When you purchase a classic item, then you can wear it for years and years since it won’t go out of style. Anytime that I want to appear “dressy,” I can rely on a pair of pumps to up my fashion game. Even if you don’t wear high heels anymore, you can still wear pumps with a smaller heel and get the same look.

This Lamb Leather Tote by Vince Camuto is GORGEOUS!!! I love the pebbled grain of the leather and how the shiny gold hardware looks so luxurious. This is a really nice large size bag, but it is not so oversized that it seems weird. I like that you can carry this tote with the handles or as a crossbody or shoulder tote. This handbag comes in several colors, but I like black since it is a color that you can carry with everything. This is from QVC, and available on the easy payment plan.

When the weather gets colder, adding a blazer or cardigan to this outfit will make it fall-ready. The blazer is one that I bought from Talbots about a month ago, and they still have this style, but not this color on their website. I love this light camel color, especially for fall since I feel like it goes great with all of the colors of fall. This blazer is an easy peasy way to dress up any outfit.

I haven’t told you about my jewelry yet. I am wearing a pair of fat boy hoops. Lol! Don’t tell Kendra Scott that I have renamed her Kaia hoop earrings. Haha! I wasn’t sure that I liked these earrings when I first took them out of the box, but they have grown on me, and I find myself reaching for them a lot. Someone asked if I could link to some smaller hoops since they weren’t a fan of large earrings, so I’ll link to some below. The long dark brown necklace that I am wearing is perfect for fall also, so you can expect to see me wearing it a lot this fall and winter. This necklace is on sale for 60% off, so it is a great time to take advantage of that offer. The Fallyn cuff bracelet is one that I’ve worn all summer long, so you should be used to it by now. I love that it is easy to slip on and adjustable for almost any size wrist.

Since my post on Monday, I’ve had several people message me about blogging. How do you get started, what is my biggest tip, how do you make money, etc. So, here is what I can tell you that you need to know. First off, it is a lot of fun, but it can be a lot of work. You need to decide on a name for your blog and remember to make it easy to remember and type. You will have to say it and type it over and over again, so make it simple! Secondly, before you purchase the rights to that name, make sure that you can get the same name in all of the social media outlets. So, go to FaceBook, Pinterest, Instagram, and even your email and see if the name that you have chosen is already taken. You will need to purchase the domain name and set up a hosting company. Then you have to decide what platform you are going to use to host your website. I use the free version of WordPress for mine.

My biggest tip for everyone would be to decide when you are going to post, and then be consistent. If someone is going to show up at your website expecting a new post, they will quit visiting if you don’t post when you say that you will. Secondly, be true to yourself. It is waaaay to much work to try and be someone that your not, and people can spot it a mile away anyway. If you are going to follow me, then I would rather it be because you like “me,” not the person that I am pretending to be.

And finally, how do you make money? When you see an ad that runs on the sides, or sometimes in the middle of the post, that is a small amount of money is paid to me. When you see me say that a post is sponsored, then most of the time, that means that I am getting compensated for creating the article about the products. I am never told what I can say, although some sponsors want to get a preview of the post to make sure that there is nothing in the post that could get them in legal trouble. Sponsors are especially sensitive right now with all of the COVID and political stuff that is happening, so I steer clear of that if I can. I don’t accept sponsored posts unless it is a brand or a product that I use, or that I know that my readers use.

An example might be a post about reader glasses. I don’t use readers, but that would be a product that a lot of you might want to know about. So, I would get the product and try it to see how it works, how it feels, if it is sturdy, and something that I think you would like. Then I would take the photos of me using the product and tell you my thoughts.

Lastly, I also make a small percentage from items that are purchased through my website. This is a percentage that the retailer pays me, but it does not change the price that you pay. Let’s take today’s post, for example, if you purchase the animal print pants, then I might earn 2.00 from the sale if you click through my website and buy them online. If you go to Target and purchase the pants, then I don’t earn a commission even though I sent you to the store. The retailer has no way of knowing that I sent you, so there is no commission. Just don’t tell me if you go to the store. Lol! Some retailers pay higher commissions, so lower, and some don’t pay commissions at all. There are “affiliate” companies that hook you up with the stores so that you don’t have to contact each store individually.

When I first started blogging, I thought that all you had to do was hit “publish,” and brands would start sending you gifts. Lol! I was sure naive because that doesn’t happen! Also, it takes a loooong time to be “found,” and some bloggers never really get on people’s radars. What makes some successful and others not??? I honestly have no idea the formula for that, but I could make a fortune if I could figure it out.

Gosh those pants are fab! The description on the Target site says they are high rise, but then doesn’t give an actual measurement. Could you please let me know? I’m short-waisted so truly high rise pants look dreadful on me. Thanks!

  6. It’s a great outgoing personality, sharing your life and an authentic love for your posters. You know, charisma. Some have it some don’t. But good content with new ideas is also important. With some fashion bloggers, it’s like looking at a catalogue. Beautiful pictures, great clothes but no personality.
Never wore animal print pants. Problem is, no hips, no bottom. I’m a flattie pattie from the waist down.

  7. This nails the look I love! You look great in it!

  8. Kathi Savarese says:

  9. Classy stylish indeed! No photo of your beautiful cheesecake? Guess you have to bake another one! Joe may have a brilliant strategy…LOL

  10. Tania, this outfit looks great! I bought the blouse in purple and teal because I look best in bright jewel tone colors. The pants I can wear with another black top since I own so many things in black! My husband would have done the exact same thing if I made him any kind of cake! Lol! Love your blog! I read it every day.
