TUESDAY TRY-ON SESSION – TARGET STYLE
Before we get started with my Tuesday Try-On Session with Target, I want to take a minute to thank all of you who left a comment yesterday. If you didn’t read my post yesterday, then be sure to take a minute and go and read how I celebrated my five years as a blogger. I read every single comment, but when I am doing a giveaway, I don’t comment. Siri will pick the winner, so I will tell her to choose a random number between one and the total number of comments. If I comment, then it messes with my system.
Some of your comments made me smile, and a couple made me cry. It touched my heart to think that I was with some of you during the most challenging times of your life. I never imagined when I started blogging that I could have an impact on anyone, other than introducing color into their closet.
I am incredibly thankful that you’ve allowed me to be a part of your lives, and I am your daily friend. We might not meet across the kitchen table, but I am happy that we share a cup of coffee. I am all the time telling Joe something that one of you commented, and he will ask me who said that. My answer is always, “one of my blogging friends,” and that is how I feel about all of you.
My mom and I were talking yesterday about some of the comments that you all left for me. She said that she almost commented too but changed her mind. I asked her what she was going to say, and I had to laugh at her answer.
I had asked everyone to tell me when they started following the blog and how they found me, etc. My mother was going to say, “when my other daughter told me about the blog.” For those of you who might not know, I didn’t tell anyone about my blog when I first started, other than my sister, who helped me get it up and running.
Nope, I didn’t tell Joe or the kids, and I didn’t tell mom either. I had no idea if I could figure out the “how” of blogging since I was not very computer-oriented. And, I was afraid people would laugh at me or tell me that I couldn’t be successful.
Even the most well-intentioned person can kill your dreams, so keep your hopes and plans to yourself. Try to fly before you even mention your plans. You are capable of doing way more than you think, so get out there and open your wings. I’ll be happy to push you out of the nest for your first solo flight. Just be sure to have a safety net down below because it might take a try or two before you learn how to soar.
Today’s try-on session is “mostly” from Target. I say mostly because I didn’t order any jeans or shoes this time, so I had to add those. You wouldn’t have wanted to see me styling in my undies even though I do have some cute ones thanks to Soma’s recent sales. Lol!
I love this red linen blend duster cardigan. Red is one of my favorite colors since it can be worn with so much. Plus, I immediately thought of wearing this around Christmas time and for Valentines’ Day. I like the duster length and patch pockets. This is a lightweight cardigan, so it is perfect for this time of the year. I am wearing a medium, and it fits great and will be plenty roomy even if I add a long-sleeve shirt underneath. The cardigan comes in several other colors and sizes from an XS to a 4X.
I am wearing a v-neck short sleeve tee from Target with all of the cardigans. This t-shirt is one that I ordered early in the spring, and I’ve been wearing it all summer long, and it still looks great. I am wearing a large so that it doesn’t fit too tight and show any lumps or bumps that I would rather keep hidden.
Rust is one of my favorite fall colors! I can think of so many ways to wear this open front versatile cardigan, and you will get your money’s worth with this sweater. This cardigan is not as long as the duster, so those who are petite might like this sweater better. It comes in a vivid violet purple color also for those who are adventurous and want to add a pop of color. I am wearing a medium in this sweater, and it fits great since I wanted it to be roomy enough to wear a button-up long-sleeve shirt with it.
My jeans are from Chico’s. These are the So Slimming Girlfriend Ankle Jeans in size .5. They fit a tiny bit tight, but when I order the size 1, they are too loose and baggy. My usual size from other brands is a size 10, but in Chico’s, I wear a size .5. I love the deep dark indigo color, especially for fall.
This olive long sleeve cardigan is lightweight also, but it is a different material than the others. It is a ribbed material, and it reminds me of insulated underwear for some reason. Lol! That doesn’t sound very flattering, but this cardigan is nicer than my description. Haha! Olive isn’t my best color, but it looks terrible when you realize that you forgot to put on blush this morning.
I must have been in a hurry this morning because I didn’t use my bronzer OR my blush. Lol! At least I did remember to add my new lip paint, but no wonder I am looking a little pasty. I will probably send this color back and get the burgundy color instead. There is also a couple of other colors, so you have plenty to choose from. Once again, I am wearing a medium, and it fits great and is roomy enough for a long-sleeve shirt once it gets colder outside.
Stop what you are doing and grab this v-neck poncho! It is only $25.00, and it comes in several colors. The poncho is soft and flowy, and it is perfect for a stay at home kind of day, but it looks great for running errands also. I love the v-neck since it is flattering for everyone, and the 3/4 length sleeves are my favorite length also.
This is a one size fits all item, so you don’t have to worry about the poncho not fitting. This is a strange color or green; it is like a mixture of green and gray. But, there is a couple of other colors available, and I think that I am going to order the burgundy and black one as well. I will live in this poncho this fall with leggings and jeans!!!
Once again, I don’t look great in olive. However, olive is a great color for fall, and it looks great on a lot of you gurls, so I wanted to show you this fabulous trucker jacket. Granted, it might have looked better if I pressed it. Lol!
I am wearing a size medium in the jacket, and it fits me perfectly. BTW the loafers that I am wearing today are incredibly comfortable!!! These are the Mercury Loafer by Dr. Scholls. This is my first pair of Dr. Scholl’s shoes, and I am very impressed with the support and padding. I don’t wear a lot of flats, but I like the style of this pair. The simple bar across the top adds some style, and the padding in the footbed adds loads of comfort. I am wearing the honey leather color and my usual size 9, which fits perfectly.
This floral kimono is on clearance, so it is at a great price. I loved the color of the kimono, especially the cream and browns that make up the flowers. I thought that this would be perfect to add for fall with some booties or knee boots.
This kimono is different than most since it has a tie waist. That helps it to stay closed, but I would have preferred the option of also wearing it open without the ties dangling. It is another one size fits all item, so you don’t have to worry about the size.
Okay, we are switching gears for just a second. Lol! I honestly didn’t think that I would like this camo short sleeve tee when I ordered it because of the green color, but I was wrong! The shirt is soft and comfortable, and I am sitting here typing and still wearing it. Lol! This tee fits me great even though I ordered a medium instead of a large like I will usually do.
You might have noticed my black moto leggings. I love these edgy leggings for the style, but they fit and feel great also. I ordered a size large because most leggings are so dang tight that I hate feeling like I am being squished. These aren’t compression leggings, so they feel much more comfortable. You wait until later this week when you see how I styled them. Grab your now, especially since they are under $20.00! I added the chestnut handbag by Radley London to the look since it reminded me of the saddlebags that you see on a motorcycle. Once again, this handbag is way cute than my description. Lol! This is a cute leather crossbody bag from QVC, and it is on clearance right now.
I’ve had these Vaneli black slip-on sneakers for over a year. I bought them when I went to Nashville for an RF convention, and I needed something to wear since I was doing so much walking. These sneakers were comfortable, and they perfect for walking on the concrete floor. I am wearing my usual size 9 in these.
I hope you liked today’s post! So many of you mentioned in the comments that I seem to be looking younger than when I first started blogging. There is an excellent reason, and I know that you are aware that it is my skincare.
Every month I am having a new incentive and giveaway for Rodan + Fields. This month it is all about a routine. People tend to pick and choose products instead of getting on a regimen that is specially formulated to work together. All of our regimens come as a 4-piece set, and each product is designed to work with the next product. They are numbered so that you don’t have any confusion on which product to use when. This month’s special is going to be, purchase any regimen, add Active Hydration Serum, and I’ll gift you Redefine Multi-Function Eye Cream. (64.00 value for FREE) Purchase MUST be made as my Preferred Customer. Here is the Solutions Tool for you to take so that you will know what regimen you need.
Notice how my eyes are much more opened…this is because of the Redefine Eye Cream!!! I use it 2X a day, and I never miss using it! To God Goes The Glory!
I love the Target try-on! These looks are so accessible. I also have Dr. Scholls flats and they are the most comfortable shoes ever. I also wear a size 10 jeans and .5 in Chico’s. Just saying. Thanks for another great post to inspire my fall outfits!
Everything was just way too cute! I ordered a couple of cardis, the leggings and your leopard outift on a different post!
Thank you for another post full of great style ideas!
Thank you for the Target try on. I really like the rust cardigan as I prefer a shorter sweater style. I have never shopped Target for my clothing, but I love hearing your opinions on quality. I’ll give Target a try! Stay safe.
Thank you for this post! I love the styles you show but I can’t always afford them. I can afford Target!!
Love all the sweaters. Going to have to get to Target soon.
Thank you for showing us affordable items. Love the poncho especially.
You know you do look younger, but not only because of your beautiful skin care routine! Your style and your colors have changed some since you started blogging and I love the younger look!
The olive green jacket looks great on you. It is a deeper, richer tone than the sweater. Definite keeper! The long cardigan is more sage and tends to wash out the wearer. I have same coloring as you and feel I need to watch the sage-tones. Funny, I didn’t think I could wear rust but there you are looking vibrant in it. Now I’ll need to give it a go.
You’re adorable! Love your style! I’m a NEW blogger – impactfulaging.com – Over 60’s crowd. Definitely NOT a fashionista myself but learning from you! 🙂
I love the red cardigan. Lightweight sweaters are such a good choice for Fall
I love that pumpkin sweater especially! You look marvelous, Tania!
I I love the red cardigan, green trucker jacket and the poncho. These would work most of the Winter for me because we have very few really cold days so I can pop a long sleeve tee under and good to go. When I wear Olive jackets I always wear pink in the top or a scarf near my face. I have this strange addiction for olive handbags. An olive jacket gives me a chance to carry them.
Thanks for the Tuesday try-on from Target. Lots of great options there.
Tania could you blog on the subject of wearing earrings and eyeglasses, please? I wear eye glasses all the time and struggle with finding appropriate earrings. I’m curious of the size and color of the lenses vs the size of the earrings. As much as I would like to wear medium hoops, I find anything other than a stud earring competes with my glasses. Any suggestions? Thanks!
That eye cream really opens up your eyes. Do you apply it under and (over) on your eye lids?
Love the rust or orange sweater. Looks so much better in your pictures than the ones on the Target website. I wouldn’t even give it a though based on those pictures.
Congrats on five years! You definately picked a few winners here. Love that long red linen blend cardigan on you!!
I have had fun with you on your blogger journey. About the time you started, I was looking for fashion over 70. You were part of several blogs I tried. They went by the wayside quickly. You add new elements to your site all the time. Good for you. Your blog has kept me fashionable in retirement. You give a wonderful message to women about being entrepreneurial!!!

I live in sweaters, cardigans and ponchos most of the year so all of these are something I would wear.
I love the rust sweater. Might have to get that one. The olive looks like sage in the picture. I like that on you.
Ah! I own that Kimono and LOVE it! So funny to see something you own on the blog. It is very versatile. I like target for fast fashion and thank you for shopping stores that I frequent. Do you shop at Kohl’s? If you could do a fall try on from there that would be wonderful. Just a suggestion. Best…Kathy
Yes!! I caught you before I went to sleep. I got the moto leggings. Most times I come on in the morning everything is sold out!!
You are very beautiful, photogenic and I love your style. So glad I found you last year. I also live your spirit!
Thank you for all you do Xo
Love your spirit
