ADDING A LIGHTWEIGHT CARDIGAN IS PERFECT FOR FALL

Did you see that Colorado got snow??? I know that fall and winter will be here before you know it, but I wasn’t expecting to go from summer to winter and skip fall. I don’t think that there was any accumulation, but it is an excellent reminder that colder weather is coming and that we need to be prepared.

This post is sponsored by Walmart, and I will receive compensation, but the opinions expressed are my own.

I’ve been ordering fall clothing for several weeks, and this morning when it was in the 60s outside, I grabbed my lightweight cardigan before I headed out the door. This waterfall cardigan by Sofia Vergara added just enough warmth since it is lightweight.

I love the waterfall design of this sweater cardigan because it is flattering in the way that it falls. I remember being with my mother the first time that she tried on a waterfall sweater, and she was amazed at how flattering the sweater looked on her. This cardigan comes in several colors, and I chose the camel and the blush ones to try. Even though I love the blush one, the camel is my favorite. Maybe I like the camel color the best because I have “fall” on my mind. I am wearing a size medium in the cardigan, and it fits me perfectly and will be plenty roomy for a long-sleeve shirt. Since I placed my last order, several new arrivals are on the website, and I’ll link to a couple of cute ones that are now in my shopping cart. Lol!

A white v-neck short sleeve t-shirt and a pair of jeans is a lot of people’s “uniform.” This short sleeve tee is one that I’ve had all summer long, and it is still in great shape. I’ve washed this a thousand times, and it hasn’t pilled or shrank, so I am a happy customer. I usually replace my white t-shirts every summer, but this one might make it for another year with no problem. I typically order a large in my t-shirts since I don’t want them to be too tight in the tummy region. This tee fits me perfectly, and it is roomy enough not to show my lumps and bumps.

I’ve loved the darker washed jeans this fall, and the straight-leg jean style is my latest obsession. So, it worked out great that I was able to combine both dark wash and the straight-leg in this pair of jeans by Time and Tru. These jeans are modern looking, and they are a mid-rise pair. This pair is perfect for those who don’t embrace the high-waist look but don’t want the low-riders either. I am 5’6″ tall, so these jeans are ankle jeans for me since they have a 29″ inseam. This will be a great versatile pair of jeans that you will be able to wear with almost anything. I am wearing my usual size 10, and they fit me perfectly.

Over a year ago, I bought these animal print feather flats from Time and Tru. This print is not available, but I wanted to show you these shoes because I’ve worn these shoes all last fall and winter, and constantly this spring and summer also. The shoes still look great, and I know that I’ll be wearing them a lot this fall. I just wanted you to understand that these shoes that are under $15.00 are a great purchase. Price doesn’t always determine how well a product will last. I also have these shoes in a deep maroon color, and I’ll link to some other colors and prints that you can purchase at this time.

How many of you go to Walmart at least once a week? I love being able to do almost all of my shopping in one place instead of having to run all over town, picking up an item or two at different stores. I love finding clothing that works for my budget, but I demand that it be stylish also. Walmart offers free 2-day shipping on most orders that are over $35.00 and even free returns. Walmart makes it very convenient for their customers, especially since most people have a store within 10 miles of their homes.

Tania, I think tying your hair off your face is very flattering and makes you look younger. I enjoy reading your posts – I live in Australia but my mother lived in Georgia for 40 years but passed away earlier this year – your posts seem to connect me with her.

Good morning, Tracy! Thanks for the comment about my hair making me look younger. I do pull it back a lot since it is so easy to style that way.

So jealous! We had 105-110° all week finally dropping into the high 90s today. And it’s ‘snowing🤭’ too! A steady deposition of fine gritty ash all over everything. It’s still tank tops and shorts here, especially since in their attempt to prevent more fires they’ve turned off our power. Thank God that we saw the light last year and bought a 20,000 watt diesel genny.

      I wanna wear a sweater!

It is terrible out west with all of the fires, ash, raging temperatures, and lack of rain. I have everyone in my prayers during this horrible time.

I enjoy your posts Tania. Your style has changed since I first started following you. Change can be good but I still love seeing you and bright, colorful outfits. One thing I especially love are your poses. They are very natural looking. So many influencers pose in such unnatural ways that I am left shaking my head. Thanks for keeping things real.

I live in Oklahoma and Tuesday it was in the 80’s and yesterday our high where I live was 55. I’m wearing a cardigan today because it’s supposed to be cool and rainy again today here.
Thanks for sharing wonderful outfits with us.

The cardigan / denim jacket with a t shirt, skirt, slacks or jeans has become my uniform since the spring. I have ordered so much stuff online. I have learned that all T shirts are not created equal and surprisingly the one with the best quality is a Time and Tru from Walmart. I bought the others on sale from J Crew Factory, Loft Outlet, and Gap outlet. The v neck on the Time and Tru is much more modest. I cannot wear the v necks from J Crew to work. Like you, I have to order a large in t shirts for my bust and torso. And because I am short the v comes a little low. That is something to consider when you order a v neck. Your height matters. Thanks for sharing affordable clothing options. I like your hair pulled back.

Good morning. I love this light weight sweater and living in hot Florida it would be great.
I do have a question about the Rodan + Fields products you mentioned in a previous post. Are their prolducts sold in stores or only online? I”m interested but I hate to spend that much money before knowing I like it. I always like to get samples first if I can.

Jan, the RF products are only sold online, and through consultants like me. However, there is a 60-day money-back guarantee, so you are never “stuck” with anything. I’ll shoot you an email.

I absolutely go to Walmart at least once a week. Your shoes look so cute with your chosen outfit for the day. It was 37 degrees in the Panhandle yesterday and in the forties today. I think we are warming up to the 50’s later today. Tomorrow 70’s, so I don’t know that summer will return, but maybe we will have some fall weather.

Still in ninties here but I’ve already started buying a few things. A new yellow cotton sweater and a pink bomber jacket. I’m trying to work my two fav colors into my wardrobe which has too many neutrals and not enough fun, the color of this cardigan is great though so I could be persuaded to add it maybe. I can’t wait for Fall. I bought new things last year that only got one wearing. 60/40 is just about average for us.

Tania, I love these posts – your scripture at the close, the easy way you communicate, and the way you keep it real. You are an inspiration to those of us “over 50” (which for me was quite a while back) that we can look stylish yet comfortable and not stuck in a time warp that makes my kids do the eye-roll. So, thank you!!

I’ve often searched for pieces from last posts on poshmark just to make sure I’m getting it right. 😊 I love color and you’re not afraid to use it. .
