HOW TO WEAR 1 SHIRT 3 WAYS
Did you have a good Valentine’s Day? Mine was fabulous, just laid back and casual. Joe and I hardly ever go out to celebrate occasions like this because we don’t have any nice restaurants in town. We usually cook a simple dinner and maybe build a fire. Last night we cooked ribs in the instant pot and had chocolate-covered strawberries for dessert. YUM!!! That is my favorite valentine’s gift for him to give me, and he gets them for me every year. He also buys Emersyn and her mommy Kayla strawberries too. Emersyn likes the milk chocolate ones like me, but Kayla likes the white chocolate version better.
That is not all that I got for Valentine’s Day. I learned years ago that if I wanted something specific for any type occasion, then I needed to buy it myself. I’ve tried hinting and leaving clues, but that never worked. Joe can tell me if I bought something new, he can tell you when my hair is ready for a cut, and he can tell you if I’ve gained or lost three pounds. BUT, for some odd reason, that man pays no attention to any of my hints and clues.
So, about ten years ago, I wanted a Coach handbag, and since Valentine’s Day was approaching, I started leaving hints. I could tell that he wasn’t picking up on my hints, so finally, I ordered the dang bag myself. When the handbag arrived, I told Joe that he didn’t have to worry about buying me a present because I had already purchased the gift for him. He was thrilled! He didn’t feel guilty for not buying me something, and I got exactly what I wanted. I still have the purse, and here it is below.
This year I found something else that I wanted. I was watching an Instagram story of a lady that I follow, and she had on these gorgeous sunglasses. I messaged her and asked the brand, but it was Versace, so I said, “crap” and forgot about it. Then, a few days later, I saw her with them again, and I decided to look on the website to see if I could afford them. She told me that she bought them about three years ago, and I wasn’t surprised when I couldn’t find them on the website any longer.
Then, I got the bright idea to look at The Real Real, which is a luxury consignment shop. I found them, and they were on sale for 20% off! I debated and debated about buying them because I was afraid that they might not fit. Finally, I ordered them because I could return them if they didn’t fit, and they fit great! Once again, Joe was happy, and I was delighted that I got what I wanted for about 1/4 of what they originally cost. You need to remember that website (here) if you want a luxury item but don’t want to pay the luxury cost. Lol! How do you like my sunnies???
This floral cotton button-up shirt is one that I showed you in my try-on session. Here is the link to the session in case you missed it before. It seems like the clothes that I bought for the try-on session are selling out quickly, so I wanted to style this top for you before they all sold out. The print is adorable and perfect for spring, but the contrasting print at the cuffs and neckline, are what sold me on this shirt. Here is a link to the floral shirt, and I am wearing a medium for sizing purposes.
I thought that a white blazer would look amazing with this shirt, so I grabbed an old one that I had in the closet. The jacket would be perfect for the spring and summer season that is fast approaching, and it adds a tad bit of classic styling to the look. Here are a few white blazers that I found for you.
The boots that I am wearing are an older pair that I bought at Old Navy a couple of years ago. I love the color and the chunky heel. I am wearing my usual size 9, and they fit great. You are going to like that they are on sale fo 15.00!!! Hurry before your size is sold out! Here is the link to the shoes.
A casual jacket deserves to be worn with a casual shoe. I like these wedge sneakers that I bought last November, and I think they go great with this look. They are comfortable and modern looking, so that is a win-win in my book. I am wearing my usual size 9, and they fit great. Here is a link to the wedge sneakers.
I know that the jeans are too long for these flats, but I still wanted to give you an idea of how a ballet flat would look with the shirt and sweater combo. I would probably choose a shorter pair of pants or maybe a pair that could be cuffed to show the shoes. These are by Michael Kors, and I love the white color with the monogrammed logos. I am wearing my usual size 9, and they fit great. Here is a link to this pair in brown, and here is a link to a cream/white pair in a crocodile print.

You are just adorable! I like # 1 and #3 best. What a nice combination of blouse with white over it. And I DO love your stories and comments. I am 20 years older than you, but your sense of style speaks to me.❤️
Love your hair always. Have you ever considered adding to your blog one time how you style it?
Where do you get your clothes? You look awesome.

I’m a jean jacket gal, though all 3 looks are great. And I really like the blouse, especially the contrast on the cuffs.
I love the denim jacket look. I love Talbots shirts & they hold up washing after washing! Has anyone noticed how high greeting cards have gotten? My husband buys me cards but I’m going to have to set a $5 limit when I saw the price of my Valentine card!
I love all three outfits! I have a white blazer and will try it styled that way….have never done that! I am a sweater “gurl” all the way, so I know I would wear blouse/sweater and I do love v-necks. I am also a big Talbots shopper so will watch for that blouse to be on sale….really like it! Thanks for all of your daily styling suggestions, cuz some days my brain just will not function clothes-wise LOL (And many times I can closet shop the same look in my own bedroom from your suggestions!)
My pick would be the first look, I love mixing blazers for a dressy or casual look!
You rock each outfit…love them all!
Love the white blazer look. You look very put together and could be worn in many settings. Definitely need to check out this brand of jeans.
My fave was the white blazer. The boots with it would make me look taller.
Absolutely beautiful! I think you could put on an old sack and look drop dead gorgeous!!
I love all 3 of these outfits but my favorite is the one with the white denim jacket. My husband and I budget money for each of us to spend on whatever we want for ourselves for Valentine’s Day. We do the same for our birthdays and Christmas as well. Since we have been married for 18 years now we have a couple of boxes filled with cards that we have received from each other over the years. I saw an idea somewhere recently and told my husband about it and he was on board so we did it. We went to the store and each of us picked out 2 cards for each other, 1 funny and 1 serious/romantic, then we exchanged the cards right there in the store. After reading our cards we put them back and went about our shopping. It was actually kind of fun and we saved money and space 🙂
like the outfits! kUT jeans are my favorite and I do have this pair….so comfortable!
I like all three looks and I am thinking I need to check out the brand Kut for my next pair of jeans.
I love all the looks but my favorite is the sweater. I
This is possibly my favorite look on you! You make it look classic, crisp and comfortable all at once.
Love all of these looks today but my favorite one is with the white denim jacket. They’re all great looks, really. Funny…I’m married to a great guy JUST LIKE JOE!! Lol! Love him to death and we’ve been married 58 years this May!
I bet that shirt would be cute with the bottom tied over a tshirt dress too! love the looks, both of the jackets are already in my closet- bonus.
You look great in all three outfits, but the third version is my favorite look. Love those earrings!
I dont even buy myself a Valentine present! Lol! Happy weekend and I hope to see you on my Fancy Friday linkup party.
Like all 3 but blazer is my favorite.
My fave is the denim jacket styling. It’s the perfect elevated casual look. Loved your story about getting your own gifts. Some men just aren’t gift orientated. It’s makes so much sense to take charge. Great post xox
Tania, i love all 3 outfits! My favorite is the one with the denim jacket, just a perfect outfit. Love your new sunnies, they are gorgeous! You always style the best outfits.
Love the outfit and also love that you let Joe off the hook by getting what you want and telling him about it. I do the same. This year I did a huge boo boo though. Golden Goose has become very popular and my daughter and grand daughter talked me into ordering a pair. Oh my word…I ordered them from Nordstrom and I have to drive 2 hours to go take them back because they were pricey and I am not taking a chance on sending them back. Last time I returned something to them by mail they had a huge mix up. My feet look 3 sizes bigger in those shoes. 648.00 with tax and the worst looking shoe I have ever put on my feet! I’d love them on someone else, but not me. My daughter said keep them you will love them after you break them in. What? I will not take a chance on that much money ever again!!!
