HOW TO SHOW SUPPORT FOR SOMETHING YOU LOVE
You have heard me talk about using ZOOM a lot, but I have only used it so far for keeping in touch with family and friends. Yesterday, however, I had my first teleconference call with my Thyroid doctor. Since I live in a small town, my Thyroid doctor is over two hours away, and it is an all-day process to drive over there, go to the appointment, grab a bite to eat, and then drive back home.
Obviously, the teleconference call couldn’t take the place of my doctor’s visit all of the time. She couldn’t feel my Thyroid or take a sample of my blood, but we did talk about how I am feeling and if I was having any problems. Fun fact, yesterday, I mentioned that I was taking Biotin, and while I was at the conference with her, she asked me if I took Biotin. It turns out, Biotin can mess with the lab work when they take blood, so I need to stop taking it at least five days before I have my blood drawn. I thought it was funny that she would ask me that since I’ve never been asked before.
I guess a lot of people are taking it since all of the nail salons have been shut down. Although, I did see that Georgia is lifting their restrictions and are once again allowing hairstylist, and fitness centers to reopen on Friday, and then more businesses like restaurants and movie theaters the next week. I am just curious, will you be venturing out, or are you going to give it some more time?
I’ve been showing you some outfits that are based around wearing a t-shirt. Today’s look is a t-shirt that I ordered a couple of weeks ago, and I finally got it in. Graphic t-shirts are something that you either love or you hate. I love a graphic t-shirt because I love being able to show my support for_________________. You can fill in the blank with whatever you support. I know a lot of people love Harley t-shirts, some show their support of their favorite sports team, I’ve seen political t-shirts, and I know that almost every one of us has owned a t-shirt with our favorite band on it.
The shirt that I am wearing today is helping support The Chosen, a multi-season series based on the true stories of the gospels of Jesus Christ. It shows green fish swimming against the current on a dark gray background. This shirt is super soft, but I love that it allows me to support something that I love and still love nice at the same time. I am wearing a size large in this shirt, and it fits me perfectly. Here is where I bought my shirt, and I’ll link to other graphic shirts below that you might like.
I am wearing a size 9 from Linea Paolo, but this color is no longer available. The great thing is, lots and lots of other companies are now making their version of the sneakers, so you have several to choose from.
Lash Boost – Need I say more!!! This little tube of goodness will last you 3-4 months, and it can help you get longer looking, fuller looking lashes. No more extensions, no more glue or magnets. Just one swipe every night before you go to bed. Price as my Preferred Customer is 139.00, but, you will receive a refund of 14.00 PLUS a tube of Body Moisturizer. The Price for someone who is not my customer is 125.00 plus 5.00 shipping, and you will also receive a tube of Body Moisturizer.
Active Hydration Serum – I use this 2x a day. I am obsessed!!! It raises the skin’s hydration level by 200% after just one use and maintains continuous hydration for eight hours. Older skin needs hydration to keep from looking crepey. Price as my Preferred Customer is 100.00, but, you will receive a refund of 10.00 PLUS a tube of Body Moisturizer. The Price for someone who is not my customer is 90.00 plus 5.00 shipping, and you will also receive a tube of Body Moisturizer.
Active Hydration Body Replenish and Redefine Multi-Function Eye Cream – The Active Hydration Serum is for your face, and this Body Replenish is for your body. Look at your skin, does it look in need of a drink of water? Since I have always had skin as dry as the Sahara Desert, this product was the one that I let out a squeal when I heard it was coming. I LOVE this big old jar of goodness. And, the eye cream from R+F is unbelievable. When I started using this eye cream, I had to pull the skin tight on my eyelids before I applied eyeshadow. Now, my eyelids have lifted (no more droopy eye), and I no longer have to pull and tug on my eyelids. Plus, as a bonus, almost all of those pesky crows feet have disappeared. The Price for both of these products as my Preferred Customer is 116.00, but, you will receive a refund of 11.00 PLUS a tube of Body Moisturizer. The Price for both of these products as someone who is not my customer is 105.00 plus 5.00 shipping, and you will also receive a tube of Body Moisturizer.

I’m in Georgia and was very surprised by the Governor’s announcement. Much like others, I agree it’s too soon. Love the tee shirt look on you Tania! Be safe everyone!
We live in Nebraska and the only things opening back up on May 4 are elective surgeries (with lots of restrictions), eye doctors, vet clinics. An outlet mall advertised they were going to open back up next Monday and there was real outrage, understandably so. I don’t know when things when open up more, but I am voting on the be cautious side….and even more so for myself as I have an autoimmune disease.Frankly, I am terrified. I would never forgive myself if I brought something home to my husband or unknowingly contaminated my kids/grands. I will wait to see if we get a resurgence of outbreaks before I venture back into a more normal routine. I do all right staying in most of the time, but it is hard when you are in the mood to see friends for lunch or coffee. I miss shopping! As always, I look forward to your daily post. You are a highlight of my day! Thank you!
Kentucky is still on lockdown after a big spike in Coronavirus cases. Our governor says we have to see two weeks of improvement before he lifts the restrictions. Honestly I’m glad he is being careful. The Chosen is wonderful! I’m into the 6th episode now. I plan on buying the Chosen shirt. Thanks for styling it for us!
Some technical info on biotin for the biochem minded https://ods.od.nih.gov/factsheets/Biotin-HealthProfessional/ (I’m an R.N. and have an undergrad degree in biochemistry. Became a nurse because being a biochemist with only a BS does not get you much of a job as a single mother. I was able to parlay my degree into a masters in nursing)
Regarding skin and hair and nails, I feel that taking collagen from clean sources is the ideal. My own dip (SNS) nails are still attached to the tips. No acetone in the house so I’m growing them out. What I’ve discovered is that my own nails revealed at the base are healthy and strong and ridge free!
I alternate my collagen brands but one I take is plain and unflavored and stirs into water, and I use the glass of water to take the rest of my supplements. It’s Perfect brand. Available here:
https://www.perfectsupplements.com/Perfect-Hydrolyzed-Collagen-p/ps-collagen.htm
Also I have three from Primal Kitchen, one from Dr. Amy Myers, and one from Dr. Axe. All those are flavored. I put them in a morning smoothie with quality protein (I like Eniva) almond milk, and a handful of green stuff. I’m not big on eating kale raw or cooked and same goes for spinach. My DH bought me a Blendtec for my birthday and it gets used daily. The screen tells me I used it199 times.
I can’t wait to get rid of my roots. Hooray for y’all who are in Georgia. I’m stuck in Communist California and we cannot see and and to this. People are getting arrested for walking their dog and exercising inside their garages with the door open. Pray for us, please. We soon will be moving to Texas where the governor has a heart.
We haven’t lifted any restrictions in Ontario and I wouldn’t want them too l. I’d rather wait.
I live in Georgia and I am very disappointed that our Governor is already lifting some of the closures. I think that it is giving some people a false sense of security and that will lead to a bigger spike in the virus. Anyway, since I have immune issues and asthma I will be continuing to stay at home. My husband went out early this morning to get some groceries and he said that there are already less people wearing masks and social distancing compared to just a week and a half ago. We watched the whole 1st season of The Chosen and absolutely loved it! I would like to buy the DVD set of the first season and definitely plan on buying a shirt 🙂 I hope you stay healthy and well!
Kelly, I am afraid that the states that open up will see a spike in the virus also. I loved the Chosen also, I know that you can buy the DVD’s. It helps fund the next season.
I am going out as soon as I can!!!! I’ll probably be in line (with many others, distancing?) for a pedicure and I’m on my hair dresser’s list of first appointments! I guess I live dangerously.
Sharon, you are a dare-devil. Lol!!!
I am not venturing out soon. I am delivering remote speech therapy to my students and I am busy every day! Your blog is the highlight of my day.
I don’t plan on venturing out a lot. I will stay hunkered down for the most part.
Love your outfit today!!!! You look cute as a button!! ?. I had an issue with my thyroid last year and actually had two nodes biopsied….as a breast cancer survivor it was especially scary. Thankfully, no cancer but still with levels off I was referred to a specialist. However I too discovered that biotin can alter blood results so I have been off that for a couple months now. Haven’t been able to get back to have blood tests done with all this virus going on. Hoping that no biotin will see my levels go back towards normal though when I do get back in. Hope all have a great day. We have sun here in central North Carolina!!!!! Thankfully! ?
Isn’t it crazy how we can be doing something that messes with our results, and we never even know???
Hey Tania!
I love your posts…fun, informative, and inspiring.
I’m in Georgia, and we’ve decided to wait a bit longer…our health, and that of our families and friends is too precious.
Keep up the good work, and be well!☺️
I don’t plan on venturing out sooner than I need. I’ll be hunkering down for a while longer.
I’ve never heard of or seen The Chosen, but I will be looking it up. As a Harley passenger, never thought I’d see my much loved Harley shirts featured in a fashion blog!
You will love The Chosen, Kelly. It is really well done. BTW, I am a Harley passenger, and you never know what you will see from my blog. Lol!
I’ve followed you since your early days, when you were a guest on Jo-Lynne Shane’s blog. I love your style and that you feature all price points. I’m an everyday reader and can’t wait to hear your story in each post.
I love wearing graphic tees, Disney. Good pair of jeans, tee, accessories, mojo jacket and what ever shoes I am in the mood to wear these days. I live in Texas, no hurry to leave my house. Love your blog and casual style! Stay safe and God bless.?
I am not in any hurry to leave my house either. I am so glad that we have the technology to have things delivered straight to our doors.
I had taken Biotin for a few years and was just told by my doctor to stop taking it because it was messing with my blood test for my thyroid! I had to wait 4 weeks before they would retake my blood….now I am waiting longer because of course i can’t go to the dr office! Indiana is closed til May 1st. But don’t think we’ll be going anywhere soon…still a bit uneasy about all this!?
I am not going to be venturing out any more than I have to. And, even when I do, I am going to be cautious!
I have not heard of The Chosen, but I’ll be checking it out. Sounds like its right up my alley. Our Governor says we might start to open May 1, but no specifics just yet. We have a vacation planned in Byrdstown, so we are headed there in 10 days. Thankfully, our resort is open. We figured there’s no safer place to be than in the middle of Dale Hollow Lake.
Mary Lou, you will love the Chosen. It is so well done and it brings everyone to life. Our Governor shut us down until June 10th, and I am not sure if he will lift any of the restrictions or not. Have fun in Byrdstown! There is no place on earth like Dale Hollow!!!
Love, love The Chosen! Highly recommend everyone watch Season One! I want a Chosen T-shirt! Have a great day, e are locked down until a May 1…prayers for everyone to be safe!
Hi! Love the T-shirt and boot cut jeans! I’m getting tired of the skinny jeans. I live in Georgia but I plan on staying home for a few more weeks. I would rather wait and see what happens. Stay safe everyone!
Lynn, I still love my skinny jeans, but I do like wearing something different occasionally. Be careful once you do venture out.
I loved that series too! I contributed online for the next season, and then I jumped at the chance to get the t-shirt.
I have to let my thyroid checked too. Mine doesn’t work anymore for years and it s all under control. Our rules are no until the end of May. No hairdressers,no restaurants, nothing!
I had a “hot spot” on my thyroid. They gave me a radiation pill to kill the hot spot, but it killed the thyroid instead. Now I have to take medicine.
Hi there!! I have Hashimoto’s and had never heard that about biotin. Thank you for sharing. I will definitely stop taking it 5 days before I get bloodwork done next time.
I love your posts and your style!! Graphic tees and jeans are 2 of my favorite things! ?
I was shocked when the doctor asked me if I was taking Biotin. I asked her if that was wrong, and she said no, that it was fine. But, I needed to stop 5 days in advance to having my blood taken. Who knew???
