HOW TO MAKE MOTO LEGGINGS LOOK CLASSY

Before I start today’s blog post, I want to take just a minute and ask everyone to please say a prayer for those who are being affected by the wildfires that are ravaging states in the West. I looked at a wildfire map on fireweatheravalanche.org, and it is mind-blowing to see how many states have fires. The fires are making it hard to breathe with ash in the air, and the temperatures are soaring, which is making everything even worse. Please pray for those who have lost loved ones, homes, and property, and for those who are trying their best to get the fires controlled. map of wildfires in the US

I went on Instagram Stories yesterday and told everyone about Joe’s latest obsession. He cracks me up sometimes with his wardrobe habits. When he finds something that he likes, he will order fourteen of them. I am not even exaggerating about that. He only wears a specific pair of khaki pants or blue jeans, so he has lots of them. He looks like he is wearing the same pair of pants every day, even though it is a different pair. Lol!

I’ve tried for years to get him to branch out with his wardrobe, but he won’t budge. However, he finally has discovered his latest passion, and that is Skecher’s shoes! He ordered several pairs of shoes the other day, and he liked all of them, but he is crazy over this pair of Skechers. He originally ordered the Taupe pair, and after wearing them for about a month, he asked me to see if they came in any other colors. So, I found them in Charcoal, and they came in yesterday. He then asked me to order him another pair of the Taupe ones, which confused me. He said that he was going to keep wearing the ones that he has now for his “everyday/work in “shoes and that he wants another pair for “going out” shoes. Lol! If your hubby wants a pair of shoes that are lightweight, these are the ones. But, you are forwarned, he might become addicted. Charcoal colored Skecher's men's shoes

You know that I love a v-neck sweater! This gorgeous red pullover sweater is soft and comfy, and it looks terrific. This is a nice medium weight sweater that is light enough to still layer under a coat, cardigan, or vest. Plus, it will look great when worn over a button-up shirt or polo. I love red, so I will get a ton of wear from this sweater. But, if red is not to your liking, then you can choose from one of the other six colors that it comes in. Since the sweater is only $18.00, you might want to select several. Lol! I am especially partial to the cobalt blue and rust-colored one.

Last Tuesday, I did a Target Try-On Session, and these black faux-leather moto leggings were part of that session. I styled them with a casual camo t-shirt, and then I got a couple of messages asking me how to style the leggings more dressy and stylish. Soooo, that is how we ended up here today. I love these leggings, and the fit is so comfortable and amazing. I am wearing a size large in these, and they fit perfectly.

To dress things up a tad, I added this black twill blazer from A New Day. This blazer fits like a second skin! I love how it perfectly hugs you to help you appear thin and then flares out to give you a great shape. This one-button blazer will look fabulous with jeans and boots, or with a skirt or a dress. And, since it is under $35.00, so you know that you will get your money’s worth. The jewelry that I am wearing is the Kaia fat hoop earrings, the Rue long necklace, and the Maggie bangle bracelet. I have worn the Rue and the Maggie for months, but the Kaia is a fairly recent purchase.

I can’t say enough about this leather handbag from Vince Camuto. The size of this bag and the way the leather feels is amazing. The gold hardware is nice and substantial, and I think that the gold looks very luxurious against the black pebbled leather. The bag comes in several different colors, and since it is from QVC, it is available on the 5 easy payment plan.

I added my red suede pumps to the look to tie in the red from the sweater. I’ve had these pumps for a long time, and since pumps are a classic shoe, I will be able to wear them for years to come. Some people think that pumps look “old and frumpy,” but I see young women strutting in pumps also. You can’t tell me that these pumps look frumpy, especially when worn with these moto leggings. Lol!

When you described Joe’s obsession about clothing I had to laugh! My husband is the SAME way!! He wears the same shirt, the same pants, the same shoes, the same shorts. He orders 100 of EVERYTHING in the SAME color. Says it makes it easy to get dressed, he doesn’t have to think, and “when you find a good thing why change?” 😂😂😂
Oh well, guess it frees up more money for me to shop.

Haha! My husband is EXACTLY the same. He found a pair of Skechers he loved a few years ago, and we scour the stores and websites for them. Sadly, they were discontinued .As for ME, I also love a red sweater, I love the v-neck. I was looking for the link to the red sweater with the white piping? Love the red pumps. Very classy.

I love your blog BUT personally I would not wear those leggings. In your pic they are emphasizing your thighs and groin area….not a classy look for any age.

  4. Same here with the “mr.” I bought him the exact same Sketchers shoes and he wears them everyday to work. I found taupe, charcoal and I think he has a 3rd color but they are pretty discolored and he is only allowed to wear them at home! You look great today!!!

I have to tell you that while most everything about Joe’s clothing “habits” are similar to my hubbies (and a good many others based on comments 🙂 you really had me when he asked you to order another pair of the taupe…Mine “saves” a second pair of the same exact New Balance 623 walking shoes in every color. Heaven forbid that style is discontinued!

I love your youthful flair. I look at photos of my grandmothers at our age and they look OLD!

My husband is the same way! But the advantage of it is that he can be showered, dressed and ready to go in a jiffy. I have some friends that say their husbands take longer to get ready to go somewhere than they do. I just could not imagine.

It’s all in how you put it together. You have that touch. I know that v red sweater is sold out but I’ll try.
My DH wears polo shirts in neutral dark colors. Black jeans, blue jeans and owns a couple of neutral dress pants and a pair of dress shoes in black. Borrows dress shirt from his brother if he needs it. Done. Unbelievable but he always looks just fine, I have a stuffed closet and could learn a valuable lesson from him I suppose.

Thank you so much for asking for prayers for the west coast! I’m in Vancouver, WA, on the border of Oregon, and the 37 fires in Oregon have pretty much covered the entire state in smoke. We haven’t been going outside since Tuesday evening. Over 800,000 acres have burned, causing 500,000 to be evacuated. A few small towns have been totally destroyed. Thankfully not many peoples lives have been lost. But I have several friends & family who’ve been impacted by this. Again, thank you for caring & spreading the news.

I laughed so much about your comments about your husband. Mainly because you could have been talking about mine! He has those obsessions and he loves Skechers shoes! When I read that portion of your post to him he laughed too. I think they must be long lost brothers! Thanks for making us laugh today!

I didn’t get online yesterday to see the post and thank you for your prayers. My precious granddaughter lives in an area where they are on evacuation alert. She’s been on alert for several days plus the power company has the electric off out of an over abundance of caution. It’s been in the 100s all week and she has no cooling. Local hotels are jammed. It’s so good to hear that people way across the country are praying for us. So thank you!
