HOW ARE YOU USING YOUR TALENTS
Do you know what time it is? Apparently, if you ask me this question, you won’t get a direct answer such as, “It’s 6:15.” My husband tells me all the time that if you ask me what time it is, I’ll let you know how to build a watch. Lol! He is trying to say that I tend to tell the back story of everything, and he wants me to get to the point.
If you’ve followed me for very long, you know my love for telling a good story. Many of you probably follow me because I talk about my family, especially that crazy husband of mine. The point of this is (this is what Joe want’s me to get to quickly) what Joe finds bothersome, the Lord has given to me as one of my “talents.”
Talents don’t have to come in the package that we think they should. For me, my talents are talking and telling everything I know and my love for clothing. If you had asked me if the Lord could use my blabbing and shopping for His purpose, I would have told you, “no way.”
I’m sure the “no way” kind of mindset is what ran through Moses’s mind, Gideon’s mind, and even through David’s mind. Don’t get me wrong, I am not putting myself in the same category as those great men, but I’m saying that we can all be used for God’s purpose.
Matthew 25:14-30
14 “Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his wealth to them. 15 To one he gave five bags of gold, to another two bags, and to another one bag, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey. 16 The man who had received five bags of gold went at once and put his money to work and gained five bags more. 17 So also, the one with two bags of gold gained two more. 18 But the man who had received one bag went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money. 19 “After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. 20 The man who had received five bags of gold brought the other five. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with five bags of gold. See, I have gained five more.’ 21 “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ 22 “The man with two bags of gold also came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with two bags of gold; see, I have gained two more.’ 23 “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ 24 “Then the man who had received one bag of gold came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed. 25 So I was afraid and went out and hid your gold in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.’ 26 “His master replied, ‘You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed? 27 Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest. 28 “‘So take the bag of gold from him and give it to the one who has ten bags. 29 For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. 30 And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ A fashion blog does not come to mind when you are thinking about the Lord’s work. It certainly wasn’t on my mind when I started the blog; I just wanted a free handbag or a pair of shoes. I am extremely unqualified to be talking about Jesus and His ministry, so I’m not sure why Sundays have become a day where I do exactly that.
I continue to write these posts; even though they are the least read, they don’t make me any money, and I get a lot of unfollows and snide comments. If I can bring ONE person to the Lord, I am humbled. A lady follows me on FaceBook, and she might even be reading this post right now. According to her, she is an atheist, but she has commented on my posts several times. She recently commented that she enjoyed my Sunday posts, that they made her think and inspired her. I think of her as I write my Sunday posts, and I hope and pray that one day she will comment that she has decided to give her life to Jesus. My mind is blown just thinking about that possibility.
So, no matter how big or small your talent is, the Lord CAN and WILL use it for His good. Think about it, what is your talent? Are you already using it to glorify God? If not, how can you use your talent for the Lord’s work?
To God Goes The Glory
Have A Blessed Day
Don’t stop the Sunday posts. If there is anything this world needs right now, it’s hope!
Such a great post! I love ALL of ur posts!
Tania, I love what you have written. I have been wondering what gift I have that God has given me to use at this stage in my life. I’m know it isn’t fashion, but I do love to talk to people. I had not thought of that as a gift! Thank you for your sweet sharing.
Hi Tania. I love your Sunday posts. I have been thinking and praying about how to use my talents. Right now I have vertigo which is slowing me down. But I know God has a plan to use me and my talents more…My husband just started an evangelical ministry to spread the Gospel. It is called “Seacoast Good News.org” If you get a chance look it up online. Thanks for all your encouraging words…
Tania, I love your Sunday posts. As Christians we are afraid to speak out , afraid we will offend. But, God wants us to share our faith in Jesus and spread his gospel. I am so thankful you are willing to serve him in this way and He will reward you. I pray you bring many to Christ through your Sunday posts. To God be the glory.
Thank you for sharing your faith. Dallas Jenkins says “God just wants you to provide the loaves and fishes, he’ll do the multiplying.”
I began following your blog a few years ago and found it thought provoking when you mentioned your faith. More than “nice”, I thought you were brave to be so open because I know the backlash that can come from people talking about what was/is often called mainstream religion—Christianity.
Everyone has busy lives and I do not always have time to read your posts (although I always try to look at the pics 😉). However, in recent months, I have found myself keeping your Sunday posts in my inbox until I have a peaceful moment to read them.
I have not regularly attended church in decades—however, I have always believed in God. So, while not an atheist, I am definitely “lapsed”. Your posts fueled my resolve to become more spiritual and over the past many months I have added daily scripture readings to my Alexa routines, subscribed to a daily email devotional and make a concerted effort to look to, and for, God in my day.
So, while you may not know the impact you make, it is there and as you said; if you bring one non-believer to the Kingdom, it is a win! Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. —Proverbs 31:30
Love your Sunday posts! You are a faithful example of obedience to God’s calling on your life.
Be blessed!
I love your Sunday posts!
I look forward to your Sunday post! Thank you for writing them.
I love your Sunday post!
So encouraging 🙏🏻
I love your Sunday posts! I am inspired and always given something to think about! So sad that some would unfollow or make snide comments. Jesus told HIs disciples that they would be persecuted because of Him. The same is true today. Keep shining the light of Jesus!
I started following your blog because I need help with fashion, but my favorite posts are your Sunday inspirational ones. I’ve been a follower of Christ all my life, so I’m a believer like you. But I’m always touched by your insights and they make me ponder a topic sometimes in a new way. So thank you, especially, for your Sunday posts.
Keep spreading the Lord’s word as you see it. Hearing it from someone we all “follow” gives it meaning and relevance we may not get elsewhere. People can choose to read or ignore, but negative comments are completely unnecessary and unkind.
Bless you.
Thank you and bless you for your Sunday posts.
What a great post, and timely.
I sure hope you continue with your Sunday messages. It provides thought as to how it may apply to my life situations and/or how I can improve and understand my actions. I enjoy the verses you share on your daily blogs as well. Your stories are a good segway into His messages. Thank you for all you do.
It made me laugh when you said your husband wants you to get to the point when you are telling a story. My husband’s favourite saying, when he felt I was being too verbose was “Stop circling the runway and land the plane!”.
I love your Sunday posts & if they save one person you can count them as a success. You are doing the Lords work. Never stop! It is wonderful & I look forward to them every week.
There are lots of fashion blogs out there, as you know and I do read some of them, but to be able to read one from a fellow Christian is such a blessing to someone who is also chatty and loves fashion and Jesus. I really appreciate your courage to include a daily Bible verse. It’s there, it can be read-or not….and it will never return void.
I appreciate and look forward to your Sunday posts; hope you will continue them! If I’ve got a busy day during the week I may miss your post but if I miss the one on Sunday, I’ll go back to read it as soon as I can
I love your Sunday posts. I too have a passion for fashion, as well as a passion for the Lord. These past few years – yes, years have been a very unsettling time for me in a lot of ways, even to my faith.
I came across your blog thru your blog sister in Texas, Pamela, a while ago. I did like that you were a Christian lady, who also loved fashion. So I didn’t seem as weird, lol. But I also loved that you talked about your faith openly, which I have been very hestitant to do. Is it possible to love such things of the world and say you’re faithful??
Well, I’m a costume designer/sewist and I’ve always known those are some of my amazing God given gifts – that’s where He kept leading me. During the COVID time it all came to a screeching halt. I thought it was because maybe I shouldn’t be doing it. I really started doubting.
Live theatre has come back like crazy. Many ladies at church and even my pastor were saying – Share those gifts. And also don’t be shy about sharing your love of God while doing it. Look at all the folks you come in contact with, there’s plenty of very nice ways to tell them the Good Word while you’re sharing the gifts God gave you. A different interesting person that maybe folks don’t expect to maybe reach people in a different way that don’t know the Lord.
And I have been doing just that, I’m not perfect, way far from it, but just being myself and being able to share things in a natural, calm way while doing our work and sharing it with others has been my delight and been a great new source of strenght for me.
So thank you for sharing your loves with all of us, and I will keep reading Sundays (well and everyday!) with interest and thought, and getting inspired. Sunday’s posts are wonderful, please keep writing them.
The scripture and lessons you share are the best part of your blog! Thanks for sharing!
Keep it up sister
Please keep writing your Sunday posts! It is so refreshing to receive inspiration and good thoughts. As you say, God asks us to use our talents (which he gave us) to encourage others to understand and seek a peace that only He can give. Am I at peace all the time? Absolutely not! But at least I know where I can go to find that peace. All I have to do is ask. Thanks again.
I appreciate and look forward to your Sunday posts. In truth, sometimes those are the only ones I read in a week! Keep being faithful and true!!!
I love your blogs, especially when you share your inspirational and biblical messages. I read them daily.
I also love your clothes and hair and makeup ideas. I am a young 75 and still care about how I look!
Tania, thank you for continuing to post on Sundays. Many times, as in today, your thoughts coincides with my pastor’s sermons. I always need the Word and your encouraging words.
I love your little devotionals (I don’t know what else to call them) on Sunday. I also love your Scripture quotes during the week. I like your take on fashion, especially when you do lower price points.
BUT, I read your blog last so that I have those Scriptural thoughts in my head for the day. Don’t stop, please.
Thank you for the Sunday posts!!
Your Sunday posts are inspirational and often thought provoking. It’s a day of rest from the usual! And… my husband would agree with Joe!!!
I love your Sunday posts. They are so inspiring!
Tania, keep writing your Sunday posts. You never know when your posts will touch a heart. I strongly recommend “The Chosen” video to you and the “gurls”. Our Sunday School Class has been watching it and discussing it. You can download it on any device free of charge. It’s life changing! Have a wonderful Sunday.
Keep posting your Sunday posts. We never know how God might be using us and sometimes we don’t get to hear or see the outcome but God is continually at work. Thank you for blessing me.
Always a blessing to read your Sunday posts Tania. We are called as Christians to testify and tell others of God’s love for us through Christ. If you are not qualified then who is? Yo u are do ing God’s work every day. Go d bless you and your family.
I just got out of church. I love your Sunday posts. I’m a middle school teacher at a Christian school. I was looking for a fashion blogger who loved the Lord. I log on every day. You are doing a great job. I think you would be a blast to hang out with. Your personality is awesome. Lol. Blessings
Your Sunday posts always inspire and encourage. I recently started filling in at church and playing the piano for our Worship Team. Sometimes it’s easy to compare our talents to others; however, God had gifted each of us uniquely and he is SO happy when we step out of our comfort zones and use our talents for His glory! Thanks for this beautiful reminder! Love and Blessings!❤️
I happen to love your Sunday post! Keep planting those seeds,
Your Sunday posts are a must read each Sunday.
Thank you
I have been following. your blog a long time and love it. When I first started reading your blog, the Sunday posts were my least favorite of the week but over the years I have come to love them the most. I have always had a strong faith but love seeing how you are reaching out to others, it motivates me to share my faith as well! So please continue with your blog and your Sunday posts! Thank you!!
I so enjoy your Sunday posts. So many times it is just what I need to hear. Please keep doing your Sunday posts.
Thank you for your uplifting Sunday posts! I save them so that I can revisit them😊
I enjoy and read every one of your clothing posts, but I think your talent really shines in your Sunday posts. Keep planting those seeds of thought! 🙂
I personally love your Sunday posts and always gain something from them. Please don’t ever stop! The Lord is using you!
Thank you for your Sunday posts! I truly needed to hear this today.
As a woman who is in constant need of strengthening my faith, I have found your Sunday posts thought provoking and I am so grateful to you for putting in the work to do create them.
Thanks Tania for your Sunday posts. They are one of the reasons I keep following you. I don’t often post comments. It after reading some do saying they don’t like Sunday posts, I definitely wanted my vote in there too! Thanks for challenge about using the gift God has given me. I am trying to work on that. Not sure of next step.
Tanya, Keep these posts coming! Planting seeds is always a good thing. God bless you! Rita
I love your Sunday posts! God finds a way to speak to all in the way that they can best hear Him. Please keep up sharing your faith!
I also enjoy your Sunday posts. We all have talents to share with others. Thanks
I love your Sunday posts! You are certainly doing what the Lord wants us to do by being a light to bring others to Him. You may never know all you may touch by these posts and lead others to Him. I cannot even imagine having to live life without knowing Jesus. It is so comforting to know He is always with us and gives us comfort and the peace that only He can give. Thank you so much and please continue always with these posts!
I love your Sunday post also. Keep them coming. Your clothes are very cute. Some I can wear and others not so much but that’s why there is chocolate and vanilla.
Amen!
Jesus comes to us through many different people and you are one of my favorites!
I so enjoyed your talent post. Reminds me of what my mother use to tell me. You are so inspiring. I look forward in reading and seeing what you are wearing daily. Please keep up the good work. I so appreciate it. Take care and be safe 👍.
Love your Sunday posts. They inspire, convicts me and lift me up! I thank God for you and your blog!🙏🏻
I’m pretty sure our Lord is looking upon you right now with a smile & saying, “Well done, good & faithful servant.” You do you, Tania, just as God intended!
Love that you share your faith here. Keep going mighty warrior.
I absolutely love your Sunday posts!!!To God be the glory!
I love your Sunday posts as well. They are chatty and relate the Lord’s word to life in many ways. Inspirational. Thank you.
Tania – your Sunday posts are a significant reason why I follow you. Of course I also love your fashion passion too – but it’s your discipleship that I admire. God bless!
I really look forward to your Sunday posts!! I am a new subscriber and have found peace and a renewed sense of faith through your posts especially in such a troubled world we all are still experiencing . You are a delightful child of God and your “talent” is truly a welcome find for me! Keep the faith.
I look forward to your Sunday posts. It is such a joy to read your inspirational words about our Lord.
Your blog is so much fun on a daily basis and I love your happy personality!
I am sorry people feel like they need to make snide remarks on the Sunday posts. I am grateful for them. You are a good and kind person. Please keep doing what you are doing !
I actually follow you because you are Christian and outspoken about it! The fashion is great – but I follow because you love Jesus! Don’t let Satan discourage!!!
I look forward to reading your Sunday posts for more enrichment of the Lord’s words. We all need his words especially now! Thank you for what you do. I also enjoy your fashion ideas to keep me updated and not look matronly.
I love your Sunday posts! Each week I look forward to reading them and always find them thought provoking and inspiring. Thank you for sharing your faith with me!
I am a believer and enjoy your Sunday post. Keep them coming. And, of course, I adore your fashion posts!💕
I love your Sunday posts. They bless me each and every Sunday.
I think being “unqualifies” is exactly what makes us qualified to talk about God. We don’t have to be “qualified” to witness for him. We just have to believe in him. I struggle with witnessing and finding my purpose. Your post gives me encouragement!
I look forward to your Sunday posts. Anyone who knows Jesus is qualified to talk about Him. Thank you for giving glory to Him.
Please know how much these Sunday posts bless me every week! I look forward to them every bit as much as I do your fashion posts! God has gifted you with a generous spirit that is a positive voice in so many ways. Thank you for being a strong woman of faith.
i love this post-keep talking Tania🙏❤️
Tania, I really look forward to your Sunday posts and I pray that you will keep writing them. You see, due to the type of cancer my husband has and how immunocompromised he is, we are no longer able to attend church. Both of us miss it so very much, but the risk is too great. So your Sunday posts help feel the void, so THANK YOU! Have a blessed day!
I love all your posts, even the Sunday posts! I also love your video tutorials!
I thank God for your faithfulness Tania.
Oh, as I have written to you before, I love your Sunday posts! I read it, then my devotional and then church service. Your words are a talent and help me see bible messages more clearly. Thank you! …and I love your fashion too!
Thank you for your faithfulness, I always look forward to your Sunday posts!
I love your Sunday posts ❤️ You definitely have a gift for sharing taking a Biblical passage or concept and showing how it applies to our everyday lives. Consider those snide remarks and rude comments the devil at work, and don’t be discouraged!
I never miss Sunday post.
Love your post today!! Thank you!!
Good for you. I like your perspective. I always read and enjoy your Sunday posts.
I am one that enjoys reading your Sunday posts. Thank you!
I look forward to your Sunday post. I always learn something and feel blessed that you share your faith with me.
Amen, sister!
I love your Sunday posts! They are my favorite. My sister told me to start reading them and I’ve found I love the way you relate the Bible to our daily lives so Thank You
Good morning Tania, I look forward to your Sunday posts more than the wonderful fashion posts throughout the week .I might delay reading one of them, but Sunday’s is opened first thing in the morning and included in my devotional. My prayer is similar to yours that God will show me how to be an example of a godly woman. Thank you for your diligence!
I look forward to your Sunday post! SO relatable! Thank you! 😊
Thank you so much for your inspirational posts! I have spent my life using my talent educating children, most recently working with children with reading disabilities. As I near retirement, it is my prayer that the Lord will guide me to find my purpose and to use it to glorify him.
I always look forward to your Sunday posts.
I love the Sunday posts, please keep sharing the Lord’s word!
I want to thank you for your Sunday posts. They helped to “refresh” my soul during 2020’s “COVID sabbatical”’ and I use them to supplement my weekly church services. Your writing style makes me feel as though I am chatting to a new friend over morning coffee!! (It would be a long coffee date, because I’m pretty talkative myself!)
While I enjoy your daily posts I very much look forward to your Sunday posts. Thank you for sharing your gifts with us.
I read your Sunday posts and always gain something from them no matter great or small. Have a blessed day.
I loved today’s Sunday Post!!! It’s the first time I’ve read one, but it won’t be the last. May the Lord bless you and keep you!!!
Bless you! I look forward to your Sunday posts. You are such a blessing to everyone who reads the words the Lord inspires you to write.
Sunday! Best day! Love your Sunday posts!
Thank you for including your Sunday posts. One of the reasons I continue to follow you is because you include scriptures. God has given you a platform, so glad you continue to use it.
We’re reading, have a lovely day….if we were all alike the world would be boring, glad you’re days are longer for the story telling (wink wink).
Thank you Tania. The Lord has gifted you and thanks for not giving in or giving up to those who may oppose your Sunday stories! 🙏❤️
I love your Sunday posts! Never quit writing them.
Tania, thank you for your Sunday blogs. Keep doing what you are doing.
I love your Sunday posts and look forward to them every week. You have a talent for bringing the Bible verses, stories and explanations to us in an easy to read and digest format. I think this appeals to a lot of people. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing posts about your faith in the Lord . I really appreciate them and knowing that faith in Christ is important to you – I love knowing that about you ! ( in addition to all the fun sharing about fashion!! ) It’s good to remember that we can be a positive influence for God no matter what our talents are!❤️
I am the caregiver for my sweet loving husband of 57 years. We are home bound for the most part due to his limitations and I enjoy your post so much.
I too love to impart everything I know and go “ roundabout” to get to the point. My Jack is much like Joe…..he never understood why not jump to it.
🤣
I’ve been a lifelong bargain shopper, thrift store scavenger, homemaker, and blessed to be a Christian.
We don’t get to church now and your Sunday post help keep me grounded! I need that😇
Stay the course true and faithful servant.
Your outlook on talents makes me look over my own and think that my meager talents are worthy.Thank you for posting on Sunday.
Tanya, you just need to keep telling your story! Some of us need to keep hearing it, until it sinks in. I believe some heads are harder than others. 🙂
Thank you for sharing your faith. Your Sunday devotions are such an inspiration. I love your attitude and dedication to the Lord. I always enjoy your fashion post and always look for your verse of the day
Amen and amen! I seek your scripture daily and anticipate your Sunday post. But I also freely and gladly admit that Jesus is my Savior and I’ve known Him all my life.
Thank you for today’s post. I will be speaking to students soon and will remember this post for encouragement
I love your Sunday posts and look forward to reading them before getting ready for church. You never know when you might change a life. As you always say “To God goes the glory!.
I LOVE your Sunday posts! I hope you teach Sunday School bc you’d be a fabulous teacher. God can surely use any gift He has given us for His glory and I’m sure He’s smiling as you do just that. Blessings to you on this Lord’s Day!
Please do not give in to negative comments and stop the Bible verses. I have missed them on the days you don’t put them on your post. Seeing how great you look in all the different things can bring out some feelings of envy but then reading the Bible verse at the end balances that all out
I read your post everyday! I especially love and look forward to Sundays! Keep up the good work Tania😊🙏
Tania, you are an inspiration too many, to the ones to put an outfit together, where there’s a great sale to your wonderful stories! The devotions are icing on the cake! What an awesome ministry! Thank you for sharing your heart!!😊♥️
I love your Sunday posts! Keep doing what you’ve started-you’ve got a good thing going!! ☺️
I am not sure why someone would feel the need to leave you snide comments about your Sunday posts. Most Sundays I do read them but if it doesn’t strike a chord with me I just move on. Same with your fashion posts. Not every style is one that appeals to me but if it doesn’t I just move on. Life is too short for negativity. Please keep doing your blog your way & just never mind those “Debbie Downers”
Have a wonderful Sunday!
Thank you for your Sunday posts. I love them!!!
I LOVE your Sunday posts! I look forward to and read them every week. Keep up God’s work. You do an amazing job. Have a blessed week!
Hi Tanya,
I am a follower of Jesus and want you to know that your Sunday posts have encouraged me so much. One particularly hard week I felt like I didn’t know if I could go on. I read your words and God used them to help me think on His perspective of this life we are given and all He sacrificed so I could know Him.Only eternity will tell the worth of our words, talents, even the little things we think are not important and the glory He received from them.
I am from a small oceanside community in Canada. In real life our paths would never cross. I thank the Lord for you! God bless!
The one day I try to never miss your posts is Sunday! Just keep on keeping on, gurl. You’re doing great!
I also enjoy the Sunday posts. They give me a chance to pause and reflect and be calm even if only for a few minutes and I think we all need more of that in our life. You have the talent of finding something relevant to focus and think on.
Thank you
Your Sunday posts are ‘soul enriching’ Tania. Don’t worry if some people don’t read and comment on them. For those who read… you are a lady with a ‘heart of gold’. Not joking… the way that you put these Sunday posts together surely makes my day! And I’m sure the others who appreciate these posts, feel the same way. Please do continue the lovely posts… ‘ you make a difference in people’s lives’.
I enjoy reading all of your post which includes Sunday. Tania, you need to keep doing you. You’re an inspiration everyday.
I do enjoy your Sunday posts
Tania! I love your Sunday posts! They are my favorite above all others and I love your stories! I am a woman of faith and they help to remind me of the Lord’s teachings plus make me think of that in regards to my life. Thank you! Please don’t stop the Sunday posts! 😊🥰🙋♀️
Thanking God that you are a believer and for the wonderful uplifting things you share!!! gayespeaks0221@gmail.com
The Sunday posts are my favourite 😊 you talk about Jesus and the bible in a very down to earth understandable way which I enjoy (and can understand). I do like your fashion posts, that’s why I started following – but I live in New Zealand so a lot of your “sales posts” are not useful for me, the postage would kill the savings!
