Polished and professional was not the look that I had planned for today. My plan was for a polka dot outfit, but you see that tomorrow instead. Wednesday was one of those days where I couldn’t get anything done. I woke up, did my devotional, and then everything went nuts from there forward. It all started with Joe, and who is surprised about that? Lol!
Joe had a project that he wanted me to work on for a little bit. That little bit turned into an all-day “treasure hunt” that ever did produce any answers. I also talked to my mom, my sister, and two of my friends and business partners with R+F. There was a ZOOM training call for my blog that I wanted to attend, and guess who got the time wrong and missed it? That polka dot outfit; was to celebrate National Polka Dot day, but I realized that it is tomorrow, not today. So, if my blog seems a little off-kilter today, I am not surprised in the least.
You do not have deja vu; this is the same argyle sweater that I wore in this post but in a calming and soothing color. I realize some people don’t love color as I do, and I wanted to style this sweater in a way that would work for everybody. This sweater looks polished and professional, and the colorful sweater looked fun and energetic. That is the power of color.
The fun part is, you don’t have to choose all one way or the other. You can choose color when you feel “smurfy” and choose calming colors when you want a polished, chic, and sophisticated look. I am wearing a medium in this gray and white argyle sweater, and it is still a tad oversized, but I don’t mind. If you are in-between sizes, then I would size down instead of sizing up. The sweater is on sale at a 25% savings, so it is a great deal.
Here is an up-close photo of my jewelry, and I kept it pretty simple today. I am wearing the small Maggie filigree hoop earrings in silver. I have the LARGE Maggie hoop earrings in gold, so I thought that I would grab the smaller version in silver to give you an idea of the size. The smaller size is a great size hoop that anyone can wear.
The long jeweled necklace that I am wearing is one that was a gift from R+F. This was gifted to me at a convention a couple of years ago, and it is one that I wear often. This necklace is not available on the website; I will link to a couple of similar ones for you.
In case you are wondering about the white button-up shirt that I am wearing, it is from Liverpool Los Angeles. I meant to take a photo from the back since it is much longer in the back, but here is where I wore it with jeans, and you can see the details much better. The size that I am wearing is medium in the shirt, and it is plenty roomy.
I have one word for you…SPANX! These black skinny pants are The Perfect Black Pant by SPANX. These are comfortable, and they fit like leggings, but they are polished looking. The pants are a pull-on style, and they feature a shaping panel that targets the tummy. With a name like SPANX, you know that the shaping panel works!
I ordered the medium and the large to check the size, and I kept the large. These pants are a four-way stretch material, so I felt more comfortable in the larger size. I have worn them several times, and they wash up well.
