I have had my hair this platinum blonds color for a while. I will occasionally use a purple shampoo when I do my hair to bring out the white and make it shine. I love the look, but Joe thinks that it washes me out because I am still pretty pale. I am looking at incorporating some red highlights back into my hair to warm up my complexion some. But, after today, I may be full on gray they next time that you see me. You have probably read me talk about the fact that Joe has a small private plane. He is a fan of flying; but not me. Lol! He has been talking for some time now that he wanted to go and take some extra training to make sure he is ready for any emergency. That all sounds wonderful until you find out how he gets prepared for the emergency. Yesterday he flew to Cincinnati and met with a gentleman that was going to give him the extra training. That means that they took his plane into the air and deliberately put it into emergencies so that he would get to the point of doing the needed action to correct the situation. Am I the only one that thinks this is not a good idea? Come on! I don’t want the plane that I am flying in to fall out of the sky, or go in a stall. Ugh!!! Today, they are once again going to be doing maneuvers that I don’t want to know anything about until he is safely on the ground. If you have a few moments, please say a prayer for his safety and my sanity. Thanks in advance. Y’all, I am seriously in love with this cardigan. I would have never thought that I would love these colors, but I am obsessed. The melon and bright orange look great with the gray and the black. Plus, the white backdrop is perfect for this dress! This cardigan is by Isaac Mizrahi, and I am wearing an XS. You gurls know that I am not an XS, so this runs big. I could have worn a small as well, but this one fits fine. It is machine washable and lay flat to dry, so that works well into my life. It came in several different colors, but it is all sold out. Isn’t that your luck?!? The great thing about Isaac Mizrahi is, he loves color, and he loves cardigans. So, I was able to find you several that I thought you might like almost as well.
Silver accessories were what I chose to wear. The Ridge silver hoops that I am wearing are a great neutral look. They are not splashy or showy; they are just a great supporting accessory for any outfit. I could say the same thing about the Katarina rhinestone bar necklace. It is dainty and beautiful, but it is not showy. The Madijeanne silver link bracelet would be the closest piece of jewelry that I have on to being described as showy. The only reason that I would say that is because of the size of the links in the bracelet. I wear this, and its gold sister, the Lelani, regularly. I fell in love with this dress at first sight. I was so afraid that it wasn’t going to fit, but it is perfect! I even like the tie belt at the waist, and I hardly ever want anything to draw attention to my waistline. Lol! As you can see, the dress is an eyelet material and is sleeveless. I wore the cardigan for warmth since I was going to church, and I tend to get cold while I am there. The dress is also by Isaac Mizrahi, and it is also sold out. I am two for two today. But, once again, I found a couple of very similar dresses for you.
I finished the outfit off by adding my cork block-heeled sandals. These are a pair that I bought with the 1,000.00 gift certificate that I earned from Rodan + Fields. These are the perfect neutral because they do not draw attention to your feet. They are just pretty and supportive; they are not the star of the show. Plus, they are very affordable and under 60.00. Here is the link. I have had more than one person ask me why I sell Rodan + Fields. My answer is that I don’t “sell,” I simply share what I am using and why I am loving what I am doing. If you are interested, then I would love for you to contact me so that I can help you own your own business, or maybe get you on your way to a skincare routine that you will love. I started because of my love for the products, and that is why I love sharing them with everyone. But, the “business” side of Rodan + Fields was a complete shock to me. I would have never dreamed that I would be passionate about skincare. I never imagined that I would be comfortable talking to hundreds of other women about my business. I am amazed at the community of women that I am proud to call my friends, all over the United States. If I had said no to the business side of this company, I would have missed out on sooo much. It makes me so appreciative that the Lord dumped this business into my lap because He knew that I needed the community in the worst way. If you are missing something from your life, maybe you too need a community of like-minded women in your life. Message me at fiftyisnotold@gmail.com, and we will hop on the phone to see what this business can do for YOU.

This outfit is great and looks so good on you. I love a good shirt dress and may look for a similar one here in Canada. I really like the one from Nordstrom that you linked. Sending good thoughts Joe’s way as he practices.
Such a pretty dress and it suits you so well. A whit dress for our age group is hard to find but there seem to be plenty around for youngsters. As for your hair colour I love it. I think it brightens up your complexion. Thank you for sharing. Regards – Jill stylishatsixty http://www.stylishatsixty.wordpress.com
When we’re older, too blond will wash you out (in also reads as gray). I would suggest a darker base, for contrast and some low lights – you’ll still be blond.(This also makes your hair appear thicker) Definitely more flattering for me, just my professional opinion-I’m a hairstylist
My base color is my “actual” real color of a darker blonde. That helps a ton with the grow out between cuts. Sometimes she does both low lights and highlights, but my hair really washes out in the summer because I am outside a lot in the sun.
So jealous of joe and his plane! My hubs is also a private pilot . And we so want our own plane. Hanger space is an issue . Love to fly with him and am trying to learn some of the lingo, so I can be helpful while flying. (We’re in our late 50’s and he got his pilots license when he was 17)
Love your white dress!! Maybe it’s the lighting but I always see a lot of pink in your skin. Has your hairdresser ever talked about cool-toned lowlights rather than a warm color for contrast?
I LOVE Isaac Mizrahi clothes…especially his 24/7 pants. In fact, I’m obsessed with them! I also love the fact that he uses color and lots of it!! I mean, who wants to wear black and white all of the time? I think that is one reason I was drawn to your blog to start with….you love color as well.I think you should have whatever color you love most in your hair as well. I can see you as a light strawberry blonde and it would give you the color around your face you’re wanting. I do NOT like flying either, especially in a small plane and you and Joe definitely have my prayers today!
Tania – my ex-husband took emergency training when he became a private pilot. It sounded scary to me at first but when he explained it, I realized how smart is was. Several years later, a faulty engine caused an emergency landing. Quick thinking, preparation and practice saved his life and his passenger’s.
Janet, I agree that it is smart, but it is still scary to me. He has taken the emergency training in the past, but since he has a different plane, he wanted to take it with the one that he has now. He wanted to see the characteristics of this plane, and how it reacts to situations.
I talked on the blog last Tuesday about that I can t find a perfect white dress, but do see them on other bloggers! This is the kind of dress I mean! I love it!
Tania, is Joe at Lunken Airport? My son in law has a plane that he keeps there. Prayers for Joe. Would love to meet him. You both seem like hoots.
Love how you look in that white dress. Might I say you look like an angel ?
I love this outfit on you!

He loves to fly, Karen. I told him that I wanted to learn how to land, I didn’t care anything about the flying part. Lol!

It is probably the lighting, I tend to be more yellow than pink. I think that the cool of the white and gray is what Joe didn’t like.
Prayers sent your way.
A little more colour in your hair would be nice like a strawberry blonde.
Annie, I appreciate the prayers!!!

Thanks for the heads up about the 24/7 pants. That sounds like something that I need to check out.

I know what you mean, Nancy. I loved this dress, and it is perfect.
