The Best Hair Dryer for Women Over 40/50

Back in May, I shared in this post that I recently tried the new hair dryer that everyone is talking about! I’ve used the Zuvi Halo Hair Dryer for six months and wanted to report back with my full review. Spoiler alert: I’m still loving it!! Plus, it would make a great gift for the holidays, especially since it is on sale for 25% off!!!

If you haven’t heard, the Zuvi Halo Hair Dryer was named one of the TIME Best Inventions 2022 and Allure’s Best Of Beauty 2022. So, what makes the Zuvi so great? It is powered by patented LightCare technology. By directly targeting water droplets on the hair’s surface, LightCare™ is specially designed to avoid overheating your hair and scalp, preserving moisture that’s essential for healthy, beautiful hair.

Zuvi Halo Hair Dryer Review: 6 Months Later

Now that I’ve been using the Zuvi for an extended period of time, I am excited to share that my hair is looking better than ever. The proof is in the pictures!! My dry and brittle hair no longer “bakes” because of the high temperatures (140℉/70℃) used in traditional hair dryers. My scalp no longer feels like it’s on fire thanks to the lower temperature the Zuvi uses, 111℉/44℃. Instead, using the Zuvi Halo Hair Dryer gives me shiny and sleek-looking hair with lots of body! What more can a woman ask for?!

One of the main things I’ve grown to love about the Zuvi Halo Hair Dryer is the different settings you can use. I usually use FAST to dry my hair and then STYLE with the concentrate attachment to style my hair. But, depending on your hair type, the CARE or SOFT features may work better for you. I’ve also recently started using the COOL feature. While I’ve seen this setting on hair dryers before, I’ve never used it until now. Am I the only one that didn’t know what this was for?! All you have to do is press and hold the “Mode” button, and it will give a burst of cool air to help set your hair.

I remember initially being shocked by how lightweight the Zuvi is, and to be honest, I still am!! I no longer dread having to hold my arms up as I blow dry my hair or have to take as many breaks in between blow-drying sections to give my arms a rest.

The Zuvi comes with up to three attachments shown below: a diffuser, gentle air, and the styling concentrator. Each can help you achieve different things with your hair while adding up to +109% hair moisture. That’s major, in my opinion!! I’ll take any extra moisture I can get when blow-drying my hair. Plus, the LightCare™ technology helps you to maintain the internal moisture of your hair cortex AND locks in hair color for 57% longer.

If you bought the Zuvi last time I shared about it, there are a few accessories that you can add to it now, including a travel bag, wall mount, and countertop holder.

Is the Zuvi Halo Hair Dryer right for you?

The short answer…yes!! As I age, my hair health has become even more of a priority, and I know it’s the same for you gurls. Whether you have fine hair, thinning hair, or just want to keep it healthy, Zuvi’s LightCare™ system will work for it all.

What I think takes this hair dryer to the next level is that the Zuvi Hair Lab is one of the world’s most advanced. Their engineers and scientists conducted over 800,000 experiments and simulations and built over 1000 prototypes to fine-tune and perfect the designs before bringing them into the world.

Plus, to make your life easier and to get the most out of your blowout, the Zuvi comes with a complete, step-by-step tutorial online that you can access at any time. You can watch videos or follow along with instructions for how to dry your hair every day, straighten it, use the diffuser for curly hair, and more. It also comes with a two-year warranty and lifetime customer support.

Ultimately, while the Zuvi Halo Hair Dryer is an investment, I think it’s well worth it! It’s currently on sale for 25% off and would make a great gift for the holidays for any beauty lover. Plus, use code Tania5 for 5% additional off your order.

My husband has developed psoriasis and I think this dryer might help. He washes his hair daily.

As an FYI-He developed this late in life (age 70) and has been diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis and concluded was a direct result of Covid immunization vaccine. His symptoms began 6 months after the vaccine. Vaccine was the catalyst, deals with autoimmune system.

  4. Thanks for sharing. You seem to be using the right products on your hair. It looks beautiful. I usually let my hair dry naturally curly but love the look and softness of blow dried hair.

  5. I too own the Zuvi and love it!

  11. Your hair looks great!

  12. I just ordered this hair dryer as a Christmas present! My daughter was looking at this hair dryer but didn’t want to spend the money, so when I saw your post I went for it. I’m sure she’ll be thrilled!

    1. Anne, that is the perfect gift! She will be so thrilled. 😁

  13. I usually let my hair almost air dry, then a quick swipe before all the products and styling. Interesting though to hear what a difference a good blow dryer makes!

  14. I have fine, thinning hair and have been using this hair dryer for several months now. I definitely see an improvement in the condition of my hair.

    1. Lori, thanks so much for sharing your experience. My hair is thick and coarse, so it is nice to hear from some whose hair is the opposite.

  15. Okay–I splurged and purchased this hair dryer. I’ve never spent this much on one before. I wanted a new hair dryer, so I could keep one in the house and one in our 5th wheel trailer. So I decided to try this one. If I like it, I might have to get another for the 5th wheel. LOL

    1. Janet, I know how you feel. It took me a long time before I bought a hair dryer that was over $100, but there really is a difference.

  16. sue koren says:

A little too pricey for me

wow, that hairdryer sounds awesome but being retired, I’ll probably never be able to fit it into my budget. For those who can, enjoy!

  21. Mary Kinard says:

You convinced me! just ordered the Zuvi Halo Dryer and can’t wait to get it. Merry Christmas to me!

    1. Mary, I sure hope you like it! You got it at a great price!!!

  22. I’m intrigued by this hair dryer but I’m wondering if it gives you body? You look like you have very thick hair so I’m curious as to how this would work with finer hair. If anyone in the reading audience can give an opinion on this, it would be appreciated. Do we really need a higher heat and high “blowing” to achieve the look we want? The 30-day trial period is interesting. Love to hear other opinions.

  23. I just bought the blow dryer! I have been thinking about it ever sense you talked about it last on your blog. I even mentioned it to my hairdresser to get her thoughts. I have never heard of this technology. I am curious to see how it does for me! I have fine hair and helping it not dry out would be great! Thanks for passing on your find!

    1. Kristen, you got it at a great price! I hope it works for your hair!

  24. Thanks for sharing this. My hair dryer went out and had to buy another one. I’m not liking it too much so this helps!

    1. It is amazing how much difference a hair dryer can make.

  25. Overall it’s not a bad price compared to the Dyson. If I knew it would last more than 10 years I would buy one. I can’t remember the brand but I paid $130 for a blow-dryer in the early 2000s. It might have lasted 3 years. My Conairs last and last that I just replace even though they work. I like the lift on your hair style.

    1. So far, it is performing nicely. I can’t say that it will last 10 years, but you never know.

  26. Roberta Schwandner says:

I enjoy reading your blog daily.

  27. Looks awesome but don’t know if I’m willing to spend that much.

    1. I get it, it is an investment.

  28. The Zuvi Halo looks interesting.
The price point is a bit high for me but it looks like a high quality dryer.

    1. It is a nice high quality dryer. I saw all the awards it won, and figured I would give it a try,

  29. Thank you for the update

  30. Dana Smithmier says:

I use the Dyson and love it! Have you compared?

    1. I have both hair dryers. They are both nice, and do a great job on my hair. I like that the ZUVI is a better price point, and it seems lighter when holding it over my head.

  31. I’ve actually never seen this – seems amazing! It might need to take the first spot on my own list! 😜

  32. I would definitely like to have the Zuvi hair dryer but it is an investment.

  33. Your hair looks great! Wish you cld have a blow dryer giveaway!

    1. Haha! I’ll mention that to the ZUVI people.
