Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old wearing a blue and white tiered sleeveless maxi dress with gold braided sandals from TargetIt was a GORGEOUS weekend!!! Oh, my word, the sun was out, and the temperatures were soaring. This was the weekend to clean up the back patio and pool area, and now my butt is dragging. Joe hired someone to pressure wash the concrete around the pool, so I dragged out all of the cushions for the lounges and dining area and scrubbed those. I didn’t do a very good job putting them away for the winter, so they had coal dust and cat hair on them. It took me forever to clean up that mess, so you can bet that this year I’ll do better. Joe tackled cleaning the pool, and he has it looking great now. row of flowers with a black fenceSince the back was looking so nice, I decided to work on putting down new mulch in the front. I love black mulch, but last year Joe brought me home red mulch, and I didn’t complain. However, this year I placed the order, so I got my black mulch instead. We have a long fenceline in front of our house, and it usually takes at least a pallet of mulch and usually more.
golf cart loaded down with black mulchJoe loaded the golf cart for me, and then I would pull the bags off, cut them open, and spread the mulch. Did I mention that it was hot outside? It was 87 degrees outside, and it didn’t take long for me to start melting down. I put down one load, and then when I took the cart back for another load, I went inside to cool down and get supplies.
cup, hat, sunglasses, gloves, and a bag of iceI put on one of Joe’s golfing hats, filled a ziplock baggie with ice, water, and a washcloth, put on my gardening gloves and sunglasses, and filled my cup (thanks Johnna) with ice water. The second go-around was easier because I could cool off. But then I got hungry and came inside to eat. Eating made me sleepy, so I took a nap, and now I only got halfway done.

white peony bloomingBut, look how pretty my Peonies look against the black mulch. They shine, and they smell so sweet. I’ll show you a picture of the finished project once it gets finished this week. I may be too sore to move for a couple of days. LOL! Remember, I’m 60. Haha!
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old wearing a blue and white tiered sleeveless maxi dress with gold sandals from TargetI want to ask all of you how you store your patio cushions for the winter. Do you put them in bags, in totes, in a closet, etc.? Also, our outdoor dining table and chairs aren’t covered, so when it rains, they get soaked. Plus, I am always battling the cats to keep them from getting on the cushions. I want to get a sectional coach for outdoors, but I need to figure out how to take care of it before I spend all that money. Let me know all of your secrets because I am at a loss when it comes to this type of thing.
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old wearing a blue and white tiered maxi dress Also, before I tell you all of the details on this maxi dress, I want to show you another new feature that I added to the blog. I think that you are going to like this latest addition. It all depends on what type of device you are using, but if you look at the menu section, you will notice that it has different categories. About me, Fashion, Faith, Hair/Makeup, and Shop My Post are the categories, and some of them have sub-categories. When you hover over fashion, a drop-down menu will pop up, and then you can choose to look at spring, summer, fall, or winter outfits. For those who are in Australia where the temperatures are starting to drop, you might want to occasionally look for inspiration by going to the fall and winter categories. Or, if you are going to a colder climate, this will show you different outfits. Also, if you hover over faith, you will see a drop-down menu for my devotionals and modest clothing. So, this dress would be listed in summer styles and modest clothing also. And I know that you are going to want to look at my hair and makeup categories. I’ll be adding to these over the next few weeks since I have to go into each old post and give it a category. So, play around with this new feature and give me some feedback. What you like, and what other categories you might want to have included.
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old wearing a blue and white tiered sleeveless maxi dress with gold jewelryJewelry and accessories…that is another category that I need to add. I am wearing the gold metallic Zanzibar hoops (HERE) from Lilly Pulitzer today. These are lightweight, and they are a nice size. They are big enough to make a statement, but not so big that you look silly. These have crystal embellishments to give them some sparkle. I added the dainty Rue long necklace (HERE) for a tiny bit of shine, but I didn’t want to add something to take away from the dress.

I can’t believe the Fallyn cuff bracelet (HERE) is finally back in stock. This bracelet has been sold out in every color for months, so if you’ve wanted this bracelet, then you better grab it now. I also added the Maggie (HERE) filigree bangle bracelet to the look. I think that these two bracelets look great together, and I pair them all of the time.
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old wearing gold braided sandals from TargetI love these gold metallic braided sandals. These are so cute, and they are perfect for shorts, crops, dresses, or jeans. You will be able to wear these sandals dressy or casual; it will be up to you. I like the “goddess” look of these shoes; I think that fits my personality. Lol! I am wearing my usual size 9 in these, and they fit me perfectly. Now, for the fun part…they are under 18.00! HERE is the link to the sandals.
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old wearing a blue and white tiered sleeveless maxi dress with gold braided sandals Now, for these gorgeous blue and white tiered maxi dress. Whew! Try saying that fast three times. This dress is a heavyweight knit, and it has plenty of movement to it as you walk. It feels so lovely and luxurious; I found my self sashaying when I was walking. The material has lots of stretchiness to it, and it is very silky feeling. I am wearing a size 1 (8-10), and I feel like I might could have even gone down another size. This dress will look great this summer, and you can easily throw on a blazer or cardigan in the evening when the air cools down. HERE is the link to this gorgeous maxi dress.
