What Looks Best With Navy Blue Tops

I’ve noticed that everything I’m ordering lately is in shades of blue. You might have seen the Square Neck Shirred Maxi Dress (Large)  that I recently wore in my How To Wear Maxi Dresses For Summer post. That is just the tip of the iceberg; you should see all the clothing I just received. Since I have so much blue coming your way, I thought it would be a good time to show what looks best with navy blue tops.

What Can I Wear With Navy Blue Tops

The wonderful thing about navy blue tops is that they will match pretty much everything. Blue is a neutral color, so you can pair navy blue tops will almost any color. However, some tops look better with certain pants. You want to wear slimmer tops with flowy or wide-leg pants, and flowy tops with slim-leg pants.

This classic navy blue pullover top is made with satiny-soft fabric and features a braided detail placket and neckline, plus flowy sleeves.

You probably noticed that this is a flowy top, and I have it paired with wide-leg crop pants. This is a contradiction to my statement earlier, but the reason it works is because I tucked in the front of the top. This took away the flowy aspect of the top so that it could be worn with the wide-leg crops.

The tan edge slide is one I’m loving this year. I found the black version on sale and loved it so much that I also bought the slide in tan. They are pricey though, so I found a similar one at a much more affordable price.

The top handle clutch has become my go-to in a very short time. I love how this clutch can go with dressy or casual outfits. Versatility is what I look for when making my clothing and accessory purchases.

Finally, here are the details of the trouser crop jeans I’m wearing. The crops are perfect for spring and summer, and they look great with this navy blue top. They are lightweight and modern, they fit great, and the 2″ hem is a great style detail.

Colors That Looks Best With Navy Blue Tops

As I mentioned earlier, navy blue is a neutral, so pretty much any color works well with it. Yes, you can even wear black with navy blue. I have to admit that I rarely pair navy and black together unless I couldn’t tell the difference in the colors until I walked outside. Lol! How many of you have had that happen to you also?

Pairing two neutral colors together is a recipe for an awesome look. If you’ve ever wondered what looks best with navy blue tops, you can’t go wrong with white jeans or pants. This navy AirEssentials half-zip pullover stays sold out. It is available for 1x, 2x, and 3x; but everything else is on a waitlist. Black and a dark green version are available in all sizes, I have the black one, and I wear it all the time.

The Mother Ankle Fray Jeans are so cute, but they are also very pricey. I just bought them a couple of weeks ago, but they were at a lower price. Joe and I have an Amazon credit card that builds points with your purchases. We buy soooo much with Amazon that our accumulated points are pretty high. I usually save them until Christmas, and then I purchase my gifts with them. However, I took a few of them to buy these jeans. Merry Christmas to me!!! Lol! These jeans run small. I usually wear a size 29 in jeans, but I had to size up two sizes. I might have been able to wear the 30s, but since these were white, I decided to go with the size 31 instead.

Here is a post on How I Style My Freshwater Pearl Jewelry With Jeans. I just received several new pearl items, including these wrap bracelets and earrings. These pieces are modern looking, and they can be dressed up or down. Plus, The Freshwater Pearl Company has been nice enough to offer a discount code for my readers. Shades of Blue

Styling colors together that are in the same color family is an easy way to put together an outfit. Navy blue and light blue look great when worn together. The light blue cardigan creates a slimming look since your eye is drawn to the smaller navy area. This tricks the eye into thinking your body is thinner than it is. I did a post on One Simple Trick Can Make You Look Taller And Slimmer that uses this eye-tricking tip. I’m wearing one of my favorite pearl necklaces, the Julie lariat. A lariat necklace can be worn in so many ways; it is so versatile. The Susanne necklace is similar to the Julie, but at a much better price point. I wore it on my way to the beach, and I got a few compliments on it when we stopped to eat.

Navy and Green Looks Great Together

Navy and green look fabulous together. If you have a pale complexion, you might want to try emerald green or navy blue tops.

Pink Looks Best With Navy Blue Tops

Pink is another color that really pops when worn with navy blue. The dark background of navy helps to make the lighter pink color shine. This ruffle shoulder top is one of my favorite purchases this year. I took it with me to Mexico in April, and I’ve worn it several times since then.

  1. Love Navy and White! Classic 🇺🇸

  2. Love to hear how Joe is doing. Hi, Joe.
The navy tops are lovely, I am checking out that braided detail. I have a t-shirt that is very definitely black. I will hold a debatable item next to it so I can tell if that one is navy or black. Sometimes I carry both to the window for natural light before I dress.

  3. Thanks for the great ideas!

  4. do you have a link to the light blue cardigan in today’s post? Love all the navy ideas. That drink looks so refreshing and delicious. Cheers!!!!!

  5. It must be the day for navy and white, because I wore a flowy navy blue top with slim white capris and silver accessories today. 😊 I felt polished and ready for the day.

I purged my clothing when I stopped teaching. This makes outfit choices simple.

  10. I love navy blue, it’s a wonderful color. it’s dark, but depending on what you pair it with it’s not as heavy as black which is great for summer. I’m also loving the slide wedges- I think those may be my new “go to” shoe when I’m not at work at hospice.

  11. Tania, I envy you being in Myrtle Beach. I think they have the best shopping! I love going to both outlet malls, but my favorite is Hamricks!. I seem to be able to find whatever I am looking for there and at a decent price! One year I had looked all over Columbus, Ohio and thee local stores and could not find anything I liked to wear with my green jeans. I had just been told about Hamricks and walked in there and found several things that I really like. I have been to the new one in Pigeon Forge, the one near Bristol, Tennessee, but my favorite is the one in Myrtle Beach. If you have never been, look it up! I live in a rural area about 25 miles south of Columbus, Ohio and you would think we would have awesome shopping, but Walmart is our only option now as a long time pop and mom has gone out of business. to be honest, I don.’t go to Columbus often to shop as I just do not feel safe . Have fun!

  12. Johnnie Putman says:

When I turned 60(7 yrs ago)I made a concerted effort to transition from black clothes head to toe to blues. A great excuse to shop! Today I wear so much blue I even have shades of blue fingernails and toes! My biggest problem shopping blue online is the same problem with black…seeing the details of the garment. I love the first flowy top you are wearing from Chicos and thankfully it’s pictured in turquoise to see the braided neckline. Now I’m off to make myself a peach smoothie! Thanks for the inspiration & for your blog!

  13. I have my navy top on today. I put on a light sand color cardigan for the “slimming” effect! Good idea. 😍

  23. I like navy blue with white and green. Love the green square neck top, I saw it a few weeks ago but, they were already out of my size. Disappointing because I go to the Chico’s website and store often. I have green sweater that I wore over a navy tank and dark blue trouser jeans. I received lots of compliments because of the green sweater.

  24. Love your posts. And the really great help!

  25. Navy is one of my favorite colors! It does go well with so many other colors. It looks great on you, Tania!
