50 IS NOT OLD | WEARING MY HEART ON MY CHEST | FASHION OVER 40I am not wearing my heart on my sleeve; it is on my chest. Lol! This photo makes me want to go back to the beach. It was so quiet and relaxing while we were there. I went with Joe yesterday to Bristol Tennessee. He had a meeting to attend, and he wanted to prepare before he went in, so I drove and let him study. Bristol is about two hours from our house, and it was snowing so I drove slow. Thankfully, the snow wasn’t sticking to the road, and it made the drive beautiful.50 IS NOT OLD | WEARING MY HEART ON MY CHEST | FASHION OVER 40 When we got to the Interstate, I asked Joe what time his appointment was because I thought he might need something to eat before he went. He took out his phone to check the time, and he said the appointment is at 1:00 pm on the 31st. I laughed and said, quit teasing me, I am not falling for that. He looked at me and said that he wasn’t kidding, it was 1:00 pm on the 31st. Then he asked me what the date was. Lol! You should have seen his face when I said, “It is the 29th!” #seniormoment We both got a good chuckle from his mistake until we realized that we have to go back again on Thursday. At least we got to go and have a good lunch at Outback before we went back home. BTW, he threatened to put a boot up my rear if I told this on the blog. Lol!!! I hid all of his boots, so I am not worried. Hahahaha!50 IS NOT OLD | WEARING MY HEART ON MY CHEST | FASHION OVER 40Valentine’s Day will be here before you know it, so I wanted to remind you to start looking for a cute outfit to wear. I know that some of you might not like wearing red, and this is a good example of how you can still look festive and still wear a color that is not so loud. I bought this sequined heart sweater last year from an online boutique named the retail therapist. The only thing that I have against this sweater is the sequins can scratch your arm or someone else. Emersyn came over and hugged me when I had the sweater on, and she complained that it scratched her little face. Ahhh.

50 IS NOT OLD | WEARING MY HEART ON MY CHEST | FASHION OVER 40This was my second pair of boots that I took with me to the beach. I didn’t venture onto the sand with these; I stayed right here around the stairs. I didn’t want to get the leather of the boots wet, and I am not sure what the saltwater would do to leather, but I doubt if it would be good. I have on a pair of bootcut Vigoss jeans instead of my normal skinny jeans. I go through spells where I prefer a bootcut style. They can help to balance your look if you carry more weight through your hips. Fashion is all illusion; we need to figure out which style gives us the illusion that we are desiring.

50 IS NOT OLD | WEARING MY HEART ON MY CHEST | FASHION OVER 40I do get a lot of messages about Rodan + Fields, and I am always thrilled to get to answer your questions. One of the questions that I get most often is about becoming a Preferred Customer (PC) and why would you want to become one. The reason that you want to become one is for the savings. Why would you pay more for a product if you don’t have to? Plus, as a preferred customer, you receive free shipping which can be anywhere from 9.95 to 11.95 or more. So, what is the downside? There isn’t one, but here is the sticking point for some people. Once you become enrolled (a one-time enrollment fee of 19.95) you are placed on an auto-replenish schedule. Most of Rodan + Fields products are packaged to last you 60 days, so every 60 days you are “scheduled” for an auto-replenish of your last shipment. However, with R+F you use very little product, so my personal experience is that the products will last you longer than that. Every month, I send out an email to every PC that has a PC replenish shipment scheduled. I will tell them the date of the shipment, and then I will tell them about any specials that R+F or that I might be having. I give instructions on how to change the shipment in case they want to try new products. However, there are times when you have plenty of product and don’t need or want anything. NO PROBLEM! I also give instructions on how to delay the shipment for up to 60 days. There is no reason ever to order anything that you don’t want or need. However, if something slips through the cracks and your order processes, you can always return it for a money back guarantee since the products all have a 60-day money back guarantee. Now that I have addressed all those issues let me tell you how to become a PC. Go here to go shopping and then go to checkout. From there you will see a small box that you click to Join PC Perks.

  1. I loved your story! That is hilarious! Might have pulledd that stunt myself once! Lol! Also love your boots and jeans.

It was hilarious until we realized that we have to do it all over again tomorrow. Lol!

    • Tania Reply

I love the bling also! That is what attracted me to this top.

  2. Glad we aren’t the only couples who mix up dates! At least you didn’t miss the appointment! I will have to make an effort for Valentines Day. I usually just drag out whatever I have in red.

    • Tania Reply

Janet, I think we “ALL” pull stunts like this. That is why I love telling the silly things that we do; it makes others realize that they are not alone.

  3. Love the top. I am not really a big valentines person, nevertheless will make the effort and wear red on the day lol. We have lots of snow here today so definitely not beach weather..

    • Tania Reply

Lisa, we are not huge on Valentine’s Day activities. I think we will be back at the beach on Valentine’s Day, so at least we will probably go out to dinner.

  4. I showed up to a party a day early a few years ago. We had a such a good laugh!

  5. Love the casual outfit. I don’t find myself buying “themed” shirts because I feel like then I can only wear them around that holiday so I might as well spend the money on something I can wear for a longer period of time. Is my thinking incorrect here? The top you have on I could see where it would work for other then Valentines day, but if I bought a top with red hearts all over it, then I feel I would have to leave it in the closet after Valentines Day.

    • Tania Reply

I am not a fan of themed items either. I loved the heart top because it didn’t scream Valentine’s, and I have worn this many times in the last year.

  6. ?Love it!! Those jeans are very slimming. I love bootcut and that top is so cute! Looking fab as usual Miss Tania!! ?

    • Tania Reply

Wow! Thanks, Carol! I will have to wear these jeans more often.

I too showed up to a retirement party a day early a few years ago. We had a good laugh, I traveled back the hour drive the next day and laughed again. The beach looks inviting especially today. The wind chill factor here is -20. Brrrr!

    • Tania Reply

My gracious, Cheryl! That wind chill would get the best of me. Stay inside where it is warm!!!

  8. You nailed this outfit! The combination makes you look tall and thinner!

    • Tania Reply

Thanks, Justine! I love taller and thinner, those are great combinations!

  9. Charlcy L. Green Reply

That story is hysterical! Hope Joe didnt get mad! But you made the most of it by eating at Outback! I love that top and have one very similar!

  10. I love that I am not the only one planning my Valentines outfit! and I also have neutral colored and subtle heart stuff that can go anytime. you look great!

  11. The boot cut jeans look very nice on you and the heart top is too cute. Poor Joe! But at least you all had a laugh and made best of it. Thanks for the chuckle this morning.

  12. Cute story and cute outfit! Love the sparkly heart! You better keep those boots hidden LOL! By the way, I was born in Bristol Tennessee. The hospital was on the TN/VA border and the maternity ward was on the TN side.

    • Michelle Williams Reply

I was born in the old hospital too! It’s changed a lot.

That outfit is so cute. Had I know you were just driving around (LOL) I would have had my mom meet you. She lives in Bristol and I send her pictures all the time of how I follow your outfits. Have fun Thursday!

  14. Dana Buckingham Reply

I can imagine the sinking feeling you both had when you realized you had the wrong day! At least it was a couple of days early and not late! And you got to enjoy lunch. I love the top!

  15. Omgosh! That made me laugh!
My husband is in charge of cooking for the Men’s Supper the first Tues. in February. It was announced Sunday, so we assumed it was this Tues. We had almost everything ready and suddenly we realized it was next week!!! So, it’s to do all over again!?

  16. You look adorable! I love the heart top and your jeans. The white stitching really makes them pop. Love the story, I’m not sure I have done that but who knows??

  17. Susan Vilardo Reply

You look fabulous and so slender! (You always look great). Glad the snow didn’t stick while you were driving! Here we have at least 7 inches of that beautiful stuff on the ground and it’s 16 below zero. The Sun is shining tho, so I’ll think positive!

I really like this outfit on you. The boot cut jeans are very flattering for your figure. I prefer boot cut jeans for myself. Because I am a redhead I don’t care to wear red clothing so this type of top would be perfect for me 🙂

I would love to hear from YOU!
