50 IS NOT OLD | WEARING FLATS WITH SKINNY JEANS | FASHION OVER 40I am continuing with my wardrobe capsule series today. It is going to be a busy day for me today filled with lots of training. It is a lot of fun getting to see some of my friends that I only get to see once or twice a year. There are over 11,000 people here in attendance, but it is surprising how you will still run into people that you know. Later tonight, I get to go to an event that only a few hundred people will be invited to attend.
50 IS NOT OLD | WEARING FLATS WITH SKINNY JEANS | FASHION OVER 40It is funny how last year I stressed over every outfit that I wore, but this year I didn’t buy anything special for the event. I didn’t even start packing my suitcase until TWO hours before it was time to leave. I don’t think that I have even been so “chill” as I was this year. I figured out last year that there is no right or wrong thing to wear. People wear a little bit of everything to these type of events. I do feel more pressure about my outfits since I am a fashion blogger. I think that people might expect me always to have a fancy outfit, and that is not the case this year. This year, I decided to go for comfort, and last year I was more about style. Lol!
50 IS NOT OLD | WEARING FLATS WITH SKINNY JEANS | FASHION OVER 40The neutral sweater that I am wearing is the same sweater that I was wearing in yesterday’s post. That is the thing about only having two or three tops to choose from; you have to wear the same items over and over and over. The challenge is to wear them differently as often as possible. I added a navy jacket/blazer over the sweater to change the look of the outfit as much as possible. I have had this jacket for over five or six years, and I will be able to get many more years of wear from this jacket. When you buy a classic style, you will be able to wear them for years.

50 IS NOT OLD | WEARING FLATS WITH SKINNY JEANS | FASHION OVER 40The Vienna necklace is probably something that you are getting tired of seeing. LOL! Welcome to a capsule wardrobe and wearing the same clothing over and over again. So, the Vienna necklace, the Dallin earrings, and the Lucille bracelet are all simple jewelry items that will go with so many things.
50 IS NOT OLD | WEARING FLATS WITH SKINNY JEANS | FASHION OVER 40I am a huge fan of skinny jeans, especially in the fall. I love wearing skinny jeans with flats, but I especially like that I can tuck them easily into my knee boots. The jeans that I have on are a pair that I bought last year. They are Kut from the Kloth, which is a brand that I really, really like. It is a premium jean that is excellent quality. I am wearing my usual size 10, and they run true to size. Here is the link for the jeans in the misses size, and here is the link for the plus size.
50 IS NOT OLD | WEARING FLATS WITH SKINNY JEANS | FASHION OVER 40Finding flats in a cute style is not the easiest task. I love flats, but I have also to have style. You know that I love looking as good as I can on a budget, but I also love high-end items. It took me two years before I finally broke down and bought these loafers by Tory Burch. It was only after trying them on and seeing how comfortable they were, that I finally decided to bit the bullet. Here is the link to the shoes, and they run true to size.
50 IS NOT OLD | WEARING FLATS WITH SKINNY JEANS | FASHION OVER 40I know that you don’t understand when I talk about how much fun it is here at Convention. It is like seeing friends that you only get to see once or twice a year, but multiply that by hundreds of people. Today is going to be my busiest day. It is starting at 7:00 am, and it won’t be finished until around 10:00 pm tonight. Ask me if I have tomorrow’s blog post done. I bet that you already know the answer is a big fat NO. Stay tuned because I am going to be forced to be creative to see what I can come up with. Lol!

  1. It sounds like our family reunion. Some we only see once a year. Fun to catch up with their lives. I love the flats and the swear we so much. You will need to replace that sweater because it is going to be a sweater that always works. Have a great time!

O just wanted to know if you will be doing anymore posts on color and prints? You are the only blogger I found in my age group who actually embraces these styles. While I understand some people only wear neutrals or solid colors, I think you looked so beautiful in bright colors and interesting prints. Plus you were a great source of helping me find more of the styles I love. Thanks for listening.
