A DENIM JACKET AND KNEE HIGH BOOTS
I made it to Nashville, and I have my daughter with me!!! She flew into Nashville late last night, but since her time zone is four hours behind mine, she was wide open when she arrived. I haven’t seen her since the first of June, so it was so good to see her again. The trip was almost as long for me to drive as it was for her to fly. She got a great flight, and it only took her about seven hours to get to Nashville from Alaska.
I was so glad to see that so many of you were happy to see a series on a capsule wardrobe. It was more of a challenge for me than you can imagine. I am a clothes hoarder, and I keep clothing for years and years. So, the idea of paring my clothing down to a small number of items was very hard. When I look at the photo of all of the clothes, I can see a lot of different outfits that I will be able to create. However, wearing the same items over and over again would probably drive me crazy.
This neutral top is going to be a perfect transition into the cooler mornings and evenings, and not be so sweltering during the day. I love the lazily relaxed style of this top, and the split neckline is a great detail. This was my first purchase of a Lou & Grey item, and I now understand why everyone loves this brand so much. I am wearing the Dallin earrings again today. These are the same earrings that I wore in yesterday’s post. I think these large gold hoop earrings go with so many different looks. The long necklace that I have on today is called the Vienna, and it is 38″ long.
A denim jacket is a must-have for any capsule wardrobe. The simple denim jacket can go with a dress or skirt, as well as with pants. I love how you can wear a long dress with a denim jacket, as well as leggings or sweatpants. Versatile clothing is a must when it comes to a capsule wardrobe.
My sailor skirt is one that I bought from Cato a month ago. I love this little Ponte skirt; it is so comfortable and flattering. When I caught them on the Nordstrom sale, I pulled the trigger. I can’t wait for fall to get here in full force so that I can wear them all of the time. Here is the link to the boots.

This is my style…Love, Love, Love! I also love that you get to spend time with your daughter. I’m so excited for Friday to get here bc my daughter and 16 yr old granddaughter are going to spend my birthday weekend with me.. We are staying in a hotel, shopping and probably eat a lot and laugh even more. Enjoy your time!

If God wanted me to have a small wardrobe he would not have given me my large closet. I solved that problem. On one end I have a basic wardrobe, on the other end I have my playful clothes. Cowboy shirt, boho blouse, American Indian inspired jacket and those long skirts and wild apricot colored jacket that was supposed to be peach blush.

Your capsule is wonderful! It’s kicking me in the shorts to get one together in my closet. I have a trip to Dallas in a few weeks. It would be so great to travel lighter on that trip. I’m always schlepping too much stuff through airports! And I have to tell you, you look so adorable in your new hair! I just love it!!

I love this outfit. Simple, casual and chic. I think I’d go a little crazy with a capsule wardrobe too but this is great for travel or folks with limited closet space. FYI, no sizes are noted on anything. Tania, it is particularly helpful when you note sizes. For me, I’m your same size. For others, perhaps if you’re in a 10 or M, that’s a 14 or L, or a 6 or S., noting if shoes/boots are true to size or if you ordered 1/2 size up, down, whatever. Most folks know how to gauge what size to order off your size. Thanks & enjoy The time with your daughter.
