DSC_0013I know some of you are waiting to see some of my vintage finds that I purchased over the weekend. But, you are just going to have to wait a little longer, because I haven’t unpacked yet. DSC_0022This vintage lambswool and mink coat was one of my favorite purchases from last year. A lady looked at this coat, but decided not to buy it, and hung it back on the rack. I then tried it on and thought it would look great with jeans, so I bought it. About 20 minutes later, the lady came back looking for the coat and was terribly disappointed that it was gone. I’ve been guilty of doing that myself. Don’t you hate it when that happens? DSC_0025This coat has the original label that reads J.O. Nadeau Furs, Quebec, Canada. As you can see in the picture, it has been monogramed MJ. Maybe it belonged to Michael Jordan. LOL! I love the color of the coat, I don’t know if you call it gray or silver. Most lambswool coats are black, so I think this one is a little unique. The mink is only on the pocket flaps, but it gives it a little added interest. You can’t see in the picture, but right beside the  monogram is a little zippered pocket, a perfect spot to hide a little spending money. Here s a similar one on ebay, but without the mink.DSC_0024The necklace I have on is one that I purchased in August from a vendor, at a woman’s club conference, called the Neck’d Ladies. They always have the neatest jewelry, and are really reasonably priced. I think I paid 25.00 for this, that is usually their price point.DSC_0016My bracelet’s are vintage hinge bracelets. They both have a pin that pulls out to let the bracelet open, and then you re-insert the pin. I think the dark brown one is wood, and the lighter one with the green stone is bone. Here is a very similar one on ebay.DSC_0012These jeans are high-rise distressed Rockstar from Old Navy. They are now on sale, so head on over and pick up a pair. I like that they are a little distressed, but not in shreds. I posted a picture on pinterest of me in a pair of jeans that are a little more distressed, and some of the ladies commented that maybe I was too “old” to wear that trend. I hate that for them, they are missing out on a cute look, and probably a lot of fun.DSC_0018I bet those same ladies don’t wear shoes like these either. These are Kathy Von Zeeland, and I purchased them at the OVC outlet along with the Dooney & Bourke purse. I bet you are sick to death of hearing me say I bought things from that store. Sorry! I found the same shoes on ebay, they are called “Ozzie”.
DSC_0023I love mixing my vintage pieces in with my everyday looks. If you like this look, then go to thrift stores, yard sales, estate sales, antique markets, and ebay. If you don’t like it, then wait a few days, go on pinterest and leave your comment. Hahaha

  1. l don’ think I have had an issue yet with people telling me I can’t wear something at 30, but oh well and life moves on if they do. You look great, and I love that coat on you.

  2. I just found your blog through Pleated Poppy’s WIWW. I am just newly turned 52. I hate when people say you shouldn’t be wearing stuff “at your age.” My almost 14 yr old daughter said that about the distressed jeans. I have been eyeing some at ON so I am now going to go out and buy a pair. I also just went all grey/white in my hair as the hair color was making my scalp have issues. People think you are old if you don’t color your hair either. I don’t feel 52 at all.

    1. I love the pretty “white” hair, but the getting there is the issue. I have a friend and her hair is gorgeous, and there is no mistaking her age. She is quite the Cracker Jack!

  3. I love this look! This is me for sure 🙂 I have a caplet that I bought vintage last year and it had the monogram to it as well. Love the color of the coat. I have bought vintage on Etsy, and love vintage brooches and jewelry, great finds!!

Thanks for linking up with Turning Heads Tuesday!

    1. Thanks Brenda! I hope you come back again:)

  6. I just found your blog and LOVE your style! The jeans are fabulous and I admire the way you can mix vintage and modern. I love pearls too and you’ve given me inspiration to wear mine Mom’s in a modern way. Keep up the awesome posts!

    1. Thanks Karolyn! ???? I love my pearls and vintage jewelry.

  7. Well, I think you look awesome. I think you have style and I like the mix it up in today’s fashion. When you combine old and new, vintage and rock star… maybe some gals are just jealous because they aren’t comfortable with some of the trends… or perhaps they don’t think they can pull it off. Whatever, keep on doing it because you inspire some of us who are on the fence to try a new look ourselves!!! Thanks for your blog!!!

    1. Thanks for the words of encouragement, Tara????

  8. My grandmother owned one of those jackets but hers was darker. Loved my
Gram and she was a Fashionista with a capital F. Can’t say I am a fan of the jacket. I didn’t love it back in the day and it just doesn’t speak to me now. ut wear what you love and what loves you back!

    1. My grandmother was, and still is, a Fashionista. Just wait till you see the cape I got from her. It is awesome, and so in style even now????

  9. I wanted to buy a pair of distressed jeans for myself because I think they are so cute, but was afraid to because I thought people would think I’m to old for that style, but when I saw your post I went right out and bought a pair. Thanks for giving me the encouragement!

    1. Sandy, this made me laugh out loud. That sounds just like something I would do????

  10. You need to read SeniorStyleBible. This lady is what it’s all about! Have a great day and don’t read the negative stuff!

  11. Cathy Bolvin says:

I love reading your blog being 57 myself and you and I have the same fashion style. My distressed jeans are a favorite. Its rather sad that women can be negative. We need to lift one another up. You look fabulous.

  12. Maybe those commenting are too old, but you are not. Age is a mental state. And I agree, they are the ones missing out. Loving your vintage pieces! So fun. Wishing I had some of my Mimi’s things. XOXO

  13. That coat is fabulous and you look fab in it! Hmm, maybe I should do some alterations on some of my older jeans to recreate your look (sans coat). The shoes are gorgeous. I pinned your first picture for reference.

  14. Yes, we are not supposed to take it personal, but sometimes it’s still a hard pill to swallow. Some gals are just more adventurous with their clothing choices than others and that’s okay. I do like the distressed jeans you are wearing here… a lightly distressed look. I have a pair that are so distressed that my bony white knees stick out. LOL I stopped wearing them, not because of comments by others, but I just didn’t like the look on me. It’s totally a personal choice. I am in deep like with your fur jacket and the bracelet with the green!

  15. Ugh I hate that “too old to wear” stuff. There are things that are wrong for our ages, but distressed denim isn’t one. An updated jean updates a look.

    1. Thank you, Kate!!! I have to admit, it kind of hurt my feelings when I saw some negative feedback. My brother-in-law said, “Welcome to the Internet”. I suppose we are not supposed to take it personal.
