Welcome to October’s first Try-On Tuesday’s post. I love these try-on posts because they are jam-packed full of goodness. I have three outfits to show you today but remember; these aren’t styled exactly. The outfits don’t look bad, but they could look better if I were actually styling them. I am trying to show you as many items as possible and let you know how these items fit and feel.
As for sizing, I usually wear a size 10 in pants and tops, a 10-12 in blazers and jackets, a medium-large in tops, and a size 9 in shoes. I will try to mention the size that I am wearing, but if I forget, then you can assume that it is true to size.
Also, for help with sizing, I am 5’6″ tall, and even though I try to lose weight, I am still between 150-160 at any given time. I will provide you with links to the items that I am wearing, so if you click on the highlighted wording, it should take you directly to the website and item. If I see that the item is sold out or limited in sizing, then I will try to find similar items for you. So, let’s get started!!!
You might remember seeing this cashmere sweater before. I love the look of this sweater! The neckline is different, and I love the 3/4 sleeves. The fact that this Lark & Ro sweater is 100% cashmere is just icing on the cake. Lol! This is a beautiful dusty rose color, and it looks more vivid in this photo than it does in person. I ordered a medium the first time, and even though the sweater fit and looked fine, I was self-conscious that you might see lumps and bumps. So, I re-ordered the sweater in large, and I am so thrilled with how it looks and feels! Woohoo! This is a keeper for me! The sweater also comes in black, charcoal, and forest green.
I wanted to showcase this gorgeous bib statement necklace that I bought the other day from Chicos. This necklace is so pretty in person, and I can’t wait to wear this on my trip to Puerto Rico later this year. (Insert crossed fingers!) I wish you could see and feel this necklace because it is beautiful. It is agate stones in a Jade Green color, and they are translucent when you hold them up to the light. This is a heavyweight necklace, and it might be too heavy for me to wear all day long. But, this necklace would be great for making a statement when you are attending an event, going out to dinner, or just want to look extra special for a couple of hours.
I should probably start writing down the jeans that I am wearing when I take these photos. I took these photos last week, and I “think” that I am wearing a pair of straight-leg jeans from Talbots. These jeans were lying with all of the clothing, making me think that they are the ones that I had on. Lol! I have figured out that I need to size down when purchasing jeans from Talbots, so I am wearing a size 8 instead of my usual size 10.
The Born Mirror Loafers are a pair that I bought at the end of last year. I still love this flat, and it is so comfortable. Born is a shoe brand that is comfortable to wear, and if you haven’t tried a pair from them, you should. I like the braided trim across the toes for a little extra detail. I found these still online, but they are limited in sizing, so good luck grabbing a pair.
The sun was bright when I was taking these photos, and everything is looking washed out. I tried to turn up the color and vividness, so that is why my eyes look crazy blue. I will try to tell you if the color of the item is darker or lighter but check out the website also if you are in doubt.
This soft knit blazer is the perfect length for fall. Have you noticed that blazers are longer this year? YAY!!! I was not a fan of the cropped blazers that were trending last year, and I am glad to see the longer styles back. The color that I am wearing is called Whisper White, and it is a soft white. You can see the Vince Camuto crossbody handbag that I am carrying is in a color called seashell, and it is a little bit darker than the blazer. I am wearing a size 10 in the blazer, and I think it is a perfect fit. This is a lightweight blazer that you will be able to wear all year round.
I was surprised when I opened these pants how thick and heavy they were. These high waist skinny crop pants are in the color olive, and they are more green than the photo looks. The picture looks like a dark gray, but they are a true olive color in person. I love the way these pants fit and feel, and they do run true to size. I am wearing a size 10 in these, and they fit like a dream. These pants are also offered in four other colors if you are not a fan of the olive color.
This floral top has a tiny ruffle that runs along the top of the top. It is a beautiful and feminine top, and I love the dainty floral print. I love a v-neckline, and a cap sleeve since those are flattering details. I am wearing a size medium in the top, and it fits perfectly.
And, now for the final outfit of the day. I could see me wearing this outfit like it is, except that I would change out the necklace. I love this long beaded statement necklace, but I probably wouldn’t wear it with the pants since they compete for attention. The necklace is three strands and approximately 38″ long with a 4″ extender. It is beautiful in person, and it will go with all of my fall outfits.
The heather green Pointelle sweater is once again more green (think olive) than it looks in these photos. It looks so pretty with these animal print pants, and I love the chambray button-up shirt worn under it. The sweater is roomy, and even though I am wearing a medium, it is plenty big. This sweater comes in several colors, and I think that I am going to order the oatmeal color since it is a great neutral. The chambray shirt is soft and thin, which equals comfortable. I am wearing a medium in the top, and it fits me great, but just a tad snug. It is not tight, but it is snug.
I LOVE these animal print girlfriend ankle jeans!!! The animal print design on these jeans is different from most prints that I’ve seen, and I love the color. It is muted and more of a neutral than others that I’ve tried, and I love how unique they are. The girlfriend style of jeans is one of my favorites, so these jeans are a homerun in my book. I am wearing a .5 in these jeans, and they fit me perfectly. In other brands, I usually wear a size 10, but Chico’s has a different method for sizing.
I hope you liked all of the outfits and items. If there is a store that you would like to see me do a try-on with, be sure to let me know.
I am in the middle of changing hosting companies for the blog. I noticed yesterday that comments didn’t show up, so hopefully, when the process is completely finished, everything will be better, faster, and less downtime.
