Woohoo!!! This “old dog” learned some new tricks! I know a lot of you ladies are like me, and you are intimidated by technology. Yes, I have a blog, and yes, I’ve figured out a lot of the technology that comes with running a blog. But, there are everyday challenges that can come our way, and a lot of us (insert raised hand) would rather call on one of our children (or grandchildren) to take care of the issue for us.
I told Joe that we needed to set aside some time for a date night. By date night, I just mean that I am not sitting at my computer working, and he is not sitting at his computer playing or watching a video. So, we decided that each Wednesday night we would watch a movie together. Movie night is going to be here at our house, not at a theatre, because we are fancy like that. Lol! Joe and I don’t watch TV very often, but I picked up the remote to try and find the movie we were looking for on NetFlix. The movie wasn’t available there, and it wasn’t on-demand TV either. I knew that it was available to be rented on Amazon, but I didn’t know how to get Amazon on my TV. So…I called my son that lives next door. After talking for a while, he said, “I don’t know Mom, but you were smart enough to figure out how to blog, I think that you can figure this out yourself.” Guess what, I figured it out! Yes, I would have rather had him “do it” for me, but I did get a great deal of satisfaction from figuring it out myself. Moral of the story…don’t let technology get the best of you. Google, YouTube, or Phone A Friend is our best allies, and you will feel soooo stinking proud when you expand your knowledge.
I have been styling so much brown, black, and olive lately that I felt like adding some color today. This gorgeous v-neck cotton pique sweater was just the ticket that I needed to lift my spirits and put me in a sunny mood. Have I said lately how much that I LOVE color? Don’t shy away from color, it adds warmth to your face and makes you look more alive. The sweater that I am wearing is a medium, and it is plenty big. I even wore a button-up shirt under it, and there was still plenty of room. If the v-neck is too low for you, a button-up shirt or a camisole will fix that problem.
Y’all, I’ve never been one to carry a small handbag. For me, the bigger the better was always my motto. But, I must be having a change of heart because the last couple of bags that I bought were smaller and a crossbody style. Here I am learning new technology tricks and styling tricks both! This Vince Camuto Lambskin small crossbody bag is the perfect size for carrying all of your essentials, and this seashell color is a great neutral that will go with everything. The bag is lambskin, so you know how soft and subtle it is.
Love, love, love these jeans!!! Why or why do they have to cost so much? I am a tight-wad, and I hate paying a lot of money for jeans. But dang it, these jeans are probably my favorite pair of jeans that I own right now, and that is saying a lot!!! I love the fit, I love the color, I love the length, and I love the style of these jeans. In my opinion, Joe’s Jeans (the brand, not my husband) run small. I figured that out the hard way in the past, so this time I ordered up one size and they fit me great. I am wearing a size 31 instead of my usual size 30.
These pointed-toe chunky heel ankle boots look fabulous with the jeans. The boots are the perfect style for the slight flare of the jeans, and the 3 1/4″ stacked heels are the perfect height to keep my jeans from dragging on the ground. The boots have a 4 1/2 shaft which gives them a higher profile than a lot of ankle boots. That would make them great for wearing with cropped pants also. The boots run true to size, and I am wearing my usual size 9 in the color Cloud Suede.
I forgot to tell you about the jewelry that I am wearing. Doesn’t this jewelry POP off of the gorgeous purple sweater? I am wearing a pair of large goldtone hoops, AVI, and they have been a favorite purchase of mine since I bought them months ago. I also have these earrings in silver because I love them so much. I recently bought the Gold Vermeil chain and then added the Gold Vermeil Cross charm. I had to look up what gold vermeil was, and it is an 18kt gold plate over sterling silver. The triple strand necklace that I am wearing is so versatile.
The Davis necklace that I am wearing is c/o Kendra Scott, and it comes with three chains that can all be removed from the clasp. I love how versatile this necklace is! You can wear one, two, or three chains, and you can even attach other necklaces that you own to the clasp for a custom necklace of your own making. This necklace comes in three other colors just in case bright blue isn’t your jam.
