THESE GIRLFRIEND JEANS ARE GOING TO BE PERFECT FOR FALL
Did y’all know that I used to work in an accounting office when I was in my twenties? I was never trained, nor did I take college classes in accounting; however, I did simple returns and loved everything about the jog. I loved that I got to work with my mom’s sister, Nancy, who was the office manager. She was everyone’s go-to person, and her sweet and kind demeanor was her trademark trait. She taught me a lot about taxes and how to do spreadsheets. And I got super fast with a calculator because of having to do audits for companies.
I have a horrible habit of looking at my keyboard when I am typing, even though it is not necessary. However, when it comes to an adding machine, I can make that baby sing without ever even glancing in its direction. That is a skill set that has come in handy in a lot of areas of my life, especially when I was working at the lumber company. Plus, I know how to reconcile a bank account, and I keep mine in good order, plus I still reconcile the lumber company’s account monthly. That one can be a bear since it has a lot of different entries, checks, and deposits. We all have skills that we are good at, so be proud of them, and let me know what your skillset is. I always find it interesting what I struggle with that others find easy.
I can’t believe that I am going to say this, but I am starting to look at fall fashions. YIKES! I want the warm weather to stay, but I love fall fashion and can’t wait to get to wear the jewel tone colors and ankle boots. I am blaming this on the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale that started yesterday for a few “Icons and Ambassadors,” which I am not either. Lol! I get access on the 10th, so I have been busy trying to get my lists together for all of you. If you look in the MENU, you will notice a #NSale tab. Click on that, and you will see the preparations that you need to start doing now. Plus, I’ll be showing you more and more information as I get it finished, so check back on that tab often. This is when you will get the first peek of the upcoming Fall and Winter fashions, and you can also take advantage of huge savings.
So, to get you in the mood for fall clothing, I decided to bring you an outfit that I just grabbed off the porch. I love the gorgeous shade of rust for this v-neck top. This top has 3/4 length sleeves, which I find the most flattering on any length. And, it is double-lined in front, so there will be no peek-a-boo going on with this top. Plus, I feel like it helps to hold you in with one layer, and the other layer skims the body. I am wearing a size 1 in this top, and it does fit me snug, but I think that it also helps me to look thinner. This will be the perfect top for layering with a blazer or cardigan this fall.
I just opened this pair of blue-light-blocking glasses right before I started taking my photos. I mentioned in my Friday favorites post that I was ordering these, and I love the touches of gold that they have. It makes them look expensive, but they’re not. They also came with a carrying pouch, a cleaning cloth, a small toolset to work on them, and extra screws and nose pads. I was impressed by all of the details.
My jewelry today is the Mckenna Vintage Gold Pendant Necklace in White Abalone, and the AVI large gold hoops that I wear ALL OF THE TIME! I love these earrings so much that I also have them in silver, They are a large statement earring, but they are lightweight and don’t hurt your ears. Finishing up my jewelry is the long Rue necklace in gold and the Beckett statement link bracelet.
Oh, my word! How fun are these jeans?!? I am obsessed with these embroidered girlfriend jeans, and I will admit that I was not originally a fan when I saw them on the website. Embroidered jeans have never been something that I liked, but I decided to give these a try because I liked the colors in the embroidery. Plus, I love large cuffs on jeans, so I took the plunge and ordered them. The cuff is tacked, so you never have to worry about trying to get your cuffs even. Lol! The girlfriend style is a style that I love, and I think that it looks good on almost everyone. I am wearing a .5 in these jeans, and they couldn’t fit me any better, they are perfect!
From now until colder weather sets in, I’ll be wearing sandals, wedges, and open-toe shoes, but I wanted to give you an idea of how to wear these jeans in the fall. I would actually prefer them with my darker booties, but they are still put away, and I haven’t dragged them out yet. So, this fawn color bootie will have to do, and it will at least give you the look that I was going for. Several boots are going to be in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, so be sure to check my posts that I mentioned earlier by looking in the menu for the #NSale.
I just wanted to share a couple more photos of the brow defining boost from other people who’ve been using the product. Plus, some of you have messaged me about what color you should choose if you have gray hair, so I included a photo for that.
I wear light for the most part, but I have worn medium and dark also. All of the colors are forgiving, so you can pretty much make almost any color work.
I love that you can see the “overtime” results from Stephanie, who has been using the product for 4 weeks.
And, when you are wearing a mask, it is all about the eyes. No one can see if you are wearing lipstick, but long lashes and nice eyebrows will always be noticed. Check out yesterday’s post to see all of my specials.

Day behind. Love the jeans and the glasses.. Cute.
Love the outfit but where is the link for blouse and jeans.
Those embroidered jeans are DARLING! Love them! Embroidery is actually one of my skills, so I’m a sucker for embellished pieces.
They’re bringing hippy back! Of course the difference is we had to embroidery our own. We especially loved to embroidery our jean jacket, I wonder if that will come back. I’m looking for my peace symbol necklace, lord knows we could use a little of that, I’m not into the top because although I love the neckline and the color, I no longer trust the fabric today. They are just too thin. im more careful in ordering. Lightweight means see through thin.
Eve, I never had the patience to embroider way back when. Lol! you don’t have to worry about this top being thin, it is double layers, so no see through at all.
You look great in those embroidered jeans! Are you were the SHORT or REGULAR version? Thanks much.
I am 5’6″ tall, so I am wearing the regular version.
Love the glasses!!!…and that cute embroidery on the jeans!! My skillset is sewing…my grandmother taught me when I was 12 and have been making mine and my kids clothes (when younger), bridesmaid dresses, etc etc etc and of course…now masks!!!
Wow! That would be a skillset that would come in very handy!
Tania, love your blog & your down to earth personality. Just ordered the jeans: can’t wait to receive them. Look forward to your emails daily…take care
Sandra, I am very down to earth. There would be no reason for me to be otherwise. Lol! I’m glad that you liked the outfit, these jeans are super cute.
Girl… You are looking so SKINNY!!!! What are you doing??!! Please Please tell me!!! Your outfit is very cute today too!
Love, Love, Love this outfit!
I remember embroidering my jeans back in the 60s. Love the look but don’t like the prices so still doing it myself. The colors you are wearing look so good on you!
Goodness, I don’t have the patience or the time to do the embroidering myself. Lol!
That outfit and color looks great on you!!! Love the glasses too!!!
Thanks, I loved them also.
I love your blog! I bought some cropped jeans from Walmart you wore & I like them a lot. However, they do sag/ stretch out considerably during day (ugh). They were so cheap it’s not surprising, though. Are you finding the Chico’s jeans stretch out less?
I really want to buy the embroidered ones but wanted to check first. Thanks!
Trace, what I’ve found is that the thicker material doesn’t sag as much. I just bought this pair, and I haven’t worn them for the whole day, but I’ve never noticed any of my Chico’s jeans doing that.
My superpower is data. I can extract, format, combine, separate, you name it. Lol, and Excel is my best friend. My favorite class in collage was statistics and my friends thought I had lost my mind!
I’ve only ordered from Nordstrom one time and it was because they had a coat in an exclusive color. I’ve always felt it was too pricey for my budget, however, this year, I am going to keep an open mind and check it out.
Angela, I need you to join me in my RF business! Lol! I could sure use a data girl on my team. I was never one to shop Nordstrom before I started blogging. One reason was that I don’t have a store within 4 hours of me, but I was put off by the pricey clothing and I thought that the entire store was that way. However, I’ve found that there are many options and brands that are available, you just have to get used to what they are. Plus, the free shipping and free returns helps out tremendously.
Love this outfit!! I also never have been drawn to embroidered jeans but love these!!! The rust colored top goes so well with them and is a great color for you. I’m looking forward to cooler fall weather. My skill set included being extremely organized and the opposite of a procrastinator. I like to get things done and checked off my list and in a methodical way. I’m a very logical, practical thinker as well, which comes in handy most of the time!
Oh goodness, Gayle. I need some of your skills because I am not a bit organized although I am trying to get better.
Do you normally wear a size 10? Does the .5 correspond to 10? They say 1.5 is 10, trying to figure out what size to order. Thanks
Normally, I wear a size 10. But, I found the 1.5 to be too baggy. I sized down to size 1, but I still felt like they were baggy. The .5 works for me, but everyone might not like their pants to fit as tight as I do.
Ohmygosh, so cute! Love the embroidery. And those glasses are the whipped cream & cherry on top of this uplifting, stylish outfit.
Oh my goodness, you’re making me hungry. Lol!
Love the glasses.
Thanks, I thought they were super cute too!
