The Best Pants To Wear To Survive The Heat
What’s the temperature where you are today? Yesterday was so HUMID. I don’t know how people who work outside stand it. I’m at my happiest sitting inside on the couch with my computer, but occasionally I have to leave the house. The last thing I want is my clothing to be tight or made from heavy material. Today, I’m sharing some of the best pants to wear to survive the heat. Linen, cotton, wide-leg pants, etc., are all going to help keep you cool. Here are some of my favorites.

Cropped pants are great to wear in the summer. Keeping your feet cool goes a long way toward keeping the rest of you cool. It doesn’t get much more chic than these linen wide leg pants. These are a classic that would go with so many types of tops and colors. They have pockets, my favorite, and are easy to care for. Throw them in the washing machine and tumble dry!
Blue jeans are not a great choice in the summer, but these chambray pants are perfect! Made from 100% “Tencel lyocell”, they’re super lightweight and breathable. The wide legs give them a relaxed, flowy feel, and the elastic waist means they’re comfortable. The medium wash color is versatile, making it easy to pair with a simple tee or a colorful tank top. Plus, they’re sustainably made, so you can feel good about wearing them!
Now these look easy-breezy! They’re made from a mix of cotton, linen, and viscose, so they’re super light and comfortable. The side slits give them a fun twist, and they’d look great with sneakers. With an elastic drawstring waist and handy side zip pockets, they’re comfy and practical. The cream color would go with anything, whether you’re wearing a casual tee or a cute blouse.

Palazzo pants are a good choice during the summer because they are almost always made of lightweight, breathable material. These are a combo of rayon and linen and are nice and flowy. Can you imagine how lovely they’d feel wearing them? They come in so many colors and are under $40. That’s a steal!
Here’s another option for cropped wide-leg pants. Not only are these light and flowy, allowing for air circulation, but the high waist and tie also help hide the tummy. I am never going to be mad at that! These are available in almost 20 different colors and are very affordable. These definitely go in the “can be dressed up or be dressed down” category. Throw on some low heels and you can wear these to any nice event, or pair them with a pair of slides for a more casual look.
Ready to lounge around the house in something uber comfy? These pants are made from a blend of rayon and linen, which means comfort. The smocked high waist gives a flattering fit, and the wide legs offer a relaxed, flowy look that’s ideal for hot days. They come with POCKETS, a must have. Available in vibrant red and another twenty or so colors, these pants are great for any occasion, from casual outings to beach vacations.
I had to include these because they look so much like the more expensive version above. Hey, I firmly believe that you get what you pay for but sometimes you have to go with your budget. Retailers like Amazon and Walmart, etc., give affordable options. I don’t believe in paying more just because! The pants are under $30 and come in several different colors.

These are so cool—like wearing a silk scarf! The fun paisley print would add a pop of color to any outfit. These cropped pants have angled pockets, making them both stylish and practical. Pair them with a soft V-neck top for a matching set, or mix and match them with your favorite tees. They are available in sizes XS to 4X and in Regular, petite, and tall.
Want a straighter silhouette? I love these linen pants from JJill. They are relaxed through the hip and thigh and are a nice width. The stitching on the back patch pockets and hemline is a unique, trendy detail. These would be great to take on vacation when you want a versatile pair of pants that you can dress up or down, all while staying cool. They are also available in a lovely blue and a white version.
Okay, gurls! Let me know how you feel about these pants. Is it too hot where you live, or are you going to give them a try?

Love the wide leg look! It’s finding a top to match that makes it challenging. You of course make it look like easy!
It has been so hot this summer that I have pretty much stayed inside. Can’t take the heat like I use to be able to.
I love the wide linen and cotton pants especially in the summer. The only question I have is do they normally have a long inseam? I’m petite and I find this regardless if I buy petite or misses size.
They are long, but shrink up some when washed. I’ma 32” inseam, and they are cropped now, which is fine.
I guess it’s just me but whenever I have worn linen and sit down, it immediately is wrinkled. For that reason, I don’t wear it–looks great in the photos and on you Tania!
All my pants for summer are loose or wide leg made of linen or cotton or a blend of both. Chambray is a good alternative for denim.
I’m not a fan of these type of pants They just make me feel like I look ten pounds heavier when I wear them, it’s probably just me
I’m loving the return of wide leg pants! They’re more comfortable, I can sit in them in any position with no pulling or pinching, and now that I’m older, details like deep pockets and elastic waistlines are more meaningful to me than “how does my butt look in these?” They’re ideal for summer. For some reason I always thought I needed to wear shorts to feel cool (I’m in Florida). Amazon’s selling some for as low as $1.99, a hard price to top, even at a thrift store. You’ve shown some nice options, Tania. I always look at the material details; cotton or linen are a lot more breathable than anything polyester.
Where did you buy the tan shawl like sweater that you are wearing with the white pants?
It was also from J.Jill. I bought it there last year.
Lightweight pants are so hard to find!
I like the Nordstroms pants made of tencel! I bet super comfortable
Nice choices!
your flowers are so pretty!
Loose is good when it’s hot! Not sure I’d wear the wide legged pants. They don’t look good on my short frame but the leaner version from JJill might be ok.
Yep, I love and live in linen wide leg pants and ankle pants in the summer. I live in NE Ohio and it’s very humid and hot here. I can hardly take it! 😟 I love to sit out on my patio and read and really have not been able to do it much this summer. Ugh!
love your posts. keep them coming!
Love JJill linen crops. Bought a bunch for a trip this year and I was not disappointed.
Your flowers are gorgeous!
Love the straight style
