I can’t believe it’s been over a year since I started doing two posts per day. It’s been a challenge, but one of the things I love is that I’ve been able to get more specific with my fashion. It’s typically very difficult to find an item that works for most body types, but finally, I’ve done just that. Today, I’m sharing the best long coats for women of every size. Most of these coats are available in petite, regular, and plus-sized. Yay!

Long coats keep you warm from head to toe, and let’s be honest, they just look so elegant and put-together. They’re perfect for those chilly days when you want to stay cozy but still look stylish. Plus, they’re super versatile—you can throw one on over jeans for a casual vibe (like I did here), or layer it over a dress for something more polished. And the way they give you that long, sleek silhouette? Instant confidence boost. A great long coat pulls your whole outfit together effortlessly.

Love! This coat is giving menswear-inspired magic! The barley multi-plaid pattern is a classic, and the notched collar makes it look way more expensive than it is. This jacket isn’t lined, so it’s lightweight, making it a great layering piece over chunky knits or a sleek turtleneck. Pair it with dark jeans and ankle boots for a look that says, “I mean business, but I’m still fun!” It’s a very polished coat!

Here’s a puffer jacket that’s low on puff but long on charm. It’s got a great modern twist that keeps it from being dowdy. The snap-front closure is hidden for a clean look, and the welt pockets are perfect for keeping your hands warm or holding a pair of gloves. It’s lined and filled with 100% recycled polyester, so it’s warm and eco-friendly. Pair it with jeans and ankle boots for a casual vibe, or throw it over a sweater dress with knee-high boots for a more elevated look.

This one’s a party in a coat—literally! The confetti plaid pattern is playful, with pops of color woven into a timeless design. It’s perfect for those days when you want to brighten up a dreary winter morning. You know how I love color to brighten my mood! The tailoring is absolutely top-notch, giving you a polished look, while the welt front pockets add both style and practicality. Plus, the button-front closure keeps it classic while letting your outfit shine underneath. Pair it with sleek black boots, and you’re ready for anything.

This denim trench coat is the definition of cool meets classic! The indigo color is a great option when you want to stand out in a sea of neutrals. The single-breasted silhouette and removable waist tie give you options—cinch it for a snatched waistline or wear it open for a laid-back vibe. Pair it with white jeans for a fresh, crisp look, or go full denim-on-denim with dark skinnies and boots for a little drama. This one’s a keeper, Gurls—denim has never looked so sophisticated!

Here’s a great, relaxed fit coat that gives you that cool, casual vibe while still looking polished. I’m loving the terra brown color—it’s so rich and earthy, perfect for fall and winter! The knee-length cut keeps you warm without being bulky, and the slant pockets are ideal for keeping your hands cozy. Pair it with a turtleneck, leggings, and knee-high boots for a timeless look that’s perfect for a lunch date or a stroll around town. And Gurls, this one is Responsible Wool Standard certified—style and sustainability? Yes, please!

I’ve been seeing herringbone everywhere. This photo shows the length but you really should click the link to see it belted. Seriously beautiful! Pair it with a bold scarf and heeled boots to elevate your look, or keep it casual with sneakers and jeans for a more relaxed vibe. It’s oversized so if you like your coats more fitted, go down one size.

Let’s talk about this iconic red peacoat! If you want to make an entrance, this is your coat. The luxe wool blend gives it a clean, structured look that’s both classic and bold. The straight fit and 46-inch length hit just right for a tailored but comfortable vibe, and the back vent ensures easy movement (perfect for getting in and out of the car). Pair it with black trousers and leopard-print flats for a polished look, or throw it over a dress for a pop of color at holiday parties.

Wow, this oversized wool-cashmere wrap coat is pure luxury! The camel color is timeless, but it’s also available in striking Red Cherry Jam or classic Black. Made from an Italian fabric woven from virgin wool and cashmere, it’s as soft and cozy as it gets. The relaxed fit gives you that effortlessly chic look while still keeping you warm, thanks to its full lining. Pair it with slim pants and heeled boots for a sophisticated look, or belt it over a dress for a flattering silhouette. This coat is an investment piece, Gurls, but it’s the kind you’ll treasure for years!

This coat is warm with a touch of drama! The oversized fit is perfect for layering over chunky sweaters or even lighter jackets when the temps drop. I love the Chocolate Ganache Brown color—rich, warm, and oh-so-chic—but there are other stunning options like Red Sunset or Almond Beige if you’re feeling adventurous. The removable cape-like scarf detail is the showstopper here. (Click the link to see the video.) Wrap it, drape it, or tie it for endless styling possibilities—it’s like having two looks in one! Pair it with knee-high boots and a sleek handbag for a look that says, “I own the room.”

That’s a wrap. (See what I did there, lol). Let me know in the comments if you’re still enjoying two posts a day. 🙂

With the temperatures dropping today in my area to the negatives, I was looking at one of the shorter jackets because I’m in the petite section but their all sold out! Bummer!

  2. Susan Smith says:

I love the idea of a good quality, stylish long coat, and I love how they look on the examples you provided, but I’ve seen myself in a long coat and it’s not pretty! I’m only 5’3 with a 29/30 inseam. I don’t think I could pull off a long coat. Thoughts?

    1. Susan, if the coats come in a petite size, they are tailored to look good for women of your height.

  3. so many beautiful coats. loved this post!

  6. I like long coats. They’re handy for wearing over a dress or skirt. I don’t like it when the dress or skirt shows under a knee length coat.

  14. Yes, enjoying the two posts, Tania. And now that I am retired, I am enjoying slow mornings 😊☕️. Love the coats, especially the denim trench, although not much coat weather in Florida, it is nice to have them when you do need them or for travel. Wishing you and Joe the best in the New Year.
