The Best Chic And Affordable Cashmere And Cashmere-Like Sweaters
I LOVE a good cashmere sweater, but sometimes I don’t love the price tag! Finding a chic, but affordable option can feel like a bit of a treasure hunt, right? But don’t worry—I’ve got you covered! Whether you’re after that timeless cashmere luxury or a cashmere-like sweater that’s just as soft and stylish without the splurge, there are plenty of options! I’m sharing my round-up of the best and most affordable cashmere and cashmere-like sweaters. Some of these are go-to’s in my own closet, and others are best-sellers I’ve heard rave reviews about!
Chic And Affordable Cashmere-Like Sweaters
I know that a lot of you can’t wear cashmere due to allergies, so I’ve included a couple of very affordable cashmere-like options—basically “not cashmere” sweaters—for those of you who need an alternative. These sweaters still offer that luxurious softness and cozy feel but are made from synthetic or blended fibers that won’t irritate sensitive skin. They’re perfect for getting that chic, comfy look without the itch or hefty price tag, making them a great option for anyone who loves the feel of cashmere but needs a little more flexibility.
Old Navy SoSoft

I recently did a size-inclusive try-on at Old Navy. They have an entire line of these SoSoft sweaters. This loose v-neck one was one of my favorites. It was slightly cropped, but still looks great with a high waist bottom. I can see myself wearing this with a button-up shirt underneath and the collar and hem sticking out.

They also had some longer-length SoSoft sweater styles to choose from if you don’t love a cropped sweater. I tried on this tunic length turtleneck one that’s going to be so cute for holiday gatherings. They also have it in a crewneck here if you aren’t a turtleneck gurl!
Gap CashSoft
If you love the look and feel of cashmere but not always the price tag, Gap’s CashSoft line might be your new best friend! It’s a collection of ultra-soft sweaters and knits designed to give you that luxe cashmere vibe without breaking the bank. They’re cozy, lightweight, and perfect for layering, whether you’re headed to a casual coffee date or just lounging at home. Plus, they come in a variety of colors and styles, so there’s something for everyone.
J.Crew Factory Extra-Soft Yarn
If you’re looking for cozy sweaters that feel luxurious without the hefty price tag, J.Crew’s Extra-Soft Yarn pieces are a game changer. They’re made from a blend of soft, durable fabrics that mimic the feel of cashmere—without the maintenance or cost. I found lots of pieces that caught my eye, like this Polo Sweater. It’s a perfect blend of sporty and chic, with a classic collar and relaxed fit that pairs beautifully with jeans or trousers.
I also spotted this ribbed boyfriend crewneck, and it looks like one of the coziest, softest things you could wrap yourself in! It comes in a bunch of great colors, but I love this light pink for winter. Pair it with jeans for a casual day out, or layer it over a button-down for a more polished look. Either way, it’s a piece you’ll want to live in all season!
Chico’s
The Zenergy Luxe® Cashmere Blend Cowl Sweater is not pure cashmere, but instead it’s made with a blend of cashmere and other soft, breathable fibers. This means you still get that luxurious feel, but at a more wallet-friendly price. The cowl neck adds a sophisticated touch, making it a cozy yet elevated choice for chilly days!
Amazon

This crewneck from Amazon Essentials is of those pieces that proves you don’t need to spend a fortune for comfort and style. It’s lightweight but still cozy, making it perfect for layering or wearing on its own. The soft-touch fabric feels great against the skin, and the classic crewneck design is versatile enough to dress up or down. With so many color options, it’s tempting to grab more!
Chic and Affordable Cashmere Sweaters
Cashmere is totally my go-to for cozy, luxe sweaters. It’s so soft, warm, and timeless, and honestly, I’ve found that with a little TLC, it lasts forever. I handwash mine in the sink with a gentle detergent for delicate fabrics to keep it super soft and in good shape. After that, I always lay it flat to dry so it doesn’t stretch out. It takes a bit of extra effort, but it’s totally worth it for cashmere that gets even better the more you wear it! I also recommend grabbing a fabric shaver. This is a great tool to keep your cashmere looking fresh and smooth for longer! It’s a great way to remove any pilling that can happen over time, especially in areas that experience more friction, like under the arms or on the sides.
Quince

I discovered Quince a few years ago, and it’s been my go-to for cashmere ever since. Their pieces strike that perfect balance between quality and affordability, which can be hard to find. I’ve been really impressed with how well their sweaters hold up—and unlike some of my other favorite retailers, they don’t sell out in a flash. This $50 cashmere sweater is what started my Quince obsession. It’s soft, timeless, and such a steal for genuine cashmere. Once you try it, you might find yourself hooked too!

Can you believe this cashmere sweater from Quince is only $29.90?! It’s lightweight and available in several colors, making it great for layering or wearing on its own. I wear a size large in most of their sweaters, and it fits me perfectly!
Nordstrom

Whenever the NSale rolls around each year, you can bet one or two of these cashmere sweaters will jump into my shopping cart! They’re just too good to pass up, especially when you find them on sale. Unfortunately, this particular color is sold out, but don’t worry—you can find it in almost 20 different colors and sizes XXS-XXL! Whether you’re looking for a classic neutral or a pop of color, there’s a shade for every style.
I have my eye on this one!! The black and white stripe is so classy, and the chic mock neck is just the right touch for a polished look. Plus, it’s perfect for keeping you warm while adding a little extra coverage—hello, hiding those double chins, lol!
Lands’ End
Did you gurls know Lands’ End has cashmere?! Everything I’ve ever ordered from Lands’ End has been such great quality, and I bet their cashmere is no exception. Plus, they have a great selection of styles, like this beautiful Johnny Collar Sweater!
J.Crew
You can always count on J.Crew for timeless, well-made pieces that just work in your wardrobe. It’s the kind of brand you can always turn to when you want a sweater that looks good, feels great, and lasts for seasons to come. They have classic cashmere options like this crewneck that’s made from super-soft, high-quality cashmere. Plus, the fit is just right—not too loose, not too tight—making it a flattering choice for all body types!
Amazon
I bet you didn’t know Amazon carried quality cashmere sweaters, did you? I’m telling you gurls they have absolutely everything! I came across this one that comes in so many colors, and gets amazing reviews!
They also have a v-neck version here. I love the color selection… especially the red for the holidays! It’s been reviewed almost 600 times and has a 4.4-star rating!
This long sleeve pullover is one of those wardrobe staples that you can wear year after year, and the price is so much more reasonable compared to some other high-end cashmere brands. I’m a big fan of the camel color, but this blue is really pretty, too!

Verse Of The Day
2 Corinthians 4:18 (NIV)
18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

I love cashmere. Its perfect for early morning sports like golf. I live and play in So. Cal, where it is 45 in the early morning and then 70 by noon. A Quince crew neck is the ticket worn n over a short sleeved golf shirt!
I Love ❤️ Love ❤️Soft Beautiful ❤️ Sweaters to wear!!!!
Quince has been my go to as well for cashmere sweaters. The boatneck style is my fav right now. You have picked some beauties!
Yay for sweaters! You look pretty in the light green/mint colored one!
Nothing better than a soft sweater!
Beautiful sweaters Tania
I love Quince too – great quality
I don’t think I can wear a full cashmere sweater. I have a cotton one with 5 percent cashmere. Even with that small amount it scratches a little bit but not enough not to wear it. Tania do you have sweaters with recycled polyester? If so do they stretch out for you? I’ve tried Target’s version of cashmere like sweaters made of recycled polyester. They stretched out terribly while wearing it around the house. I returned. Maybe cause they’re cheap. I just wonder if anyone has had good luck with the better brands of recycled polyester sweaters.
I love cashmere, but not the price on my budget (retired teacher). But I have been fortunate to find on sale at Nordstrom and Macy’s. My question is are moth balls still the thing to avoid the small holes or is there something new to add to my closet to protect my wool/cashmere clothing?
I had a cashmere sweater a long time ago, but my husband “washed and dried” it for me. He thought he was being helpful, but it shrunk and looked like a child’s sweater when it came out of the dryer!! Maybe I should try again because these look so cozy!
Some really nice affordable options. I’m always amazed at the great clothers you post from Amazon.
Amazon has some great brands. I’m going to try and post more of them in 2025 since Amazon is accessible to most people.
I recently bought the baby alpaca cardigan from Quince and it is fabulous! I know I will have it for a very long time, and will get lots of wear from it. I also have a J. Crew cashmere sweater that is a couple of years old but still timeless, I get compliments every time I wear it. I also live in Montana part of the year and that J. Crew cashmere sweater is always what I bring along!
Quince has fabulous options, especially for cashmere.
Beautiful sweaters.
Nice sweaters!
