Stylish and Trendy Sandals for Women Over 50
Not long ago I blogged about fashionable and trendy sneakers that celebrities have been spotted wearing. I ended up ordering a couple of different brands and really loving them. So, I thought why not check out what sandals the celebrities were wearing? I’m sharing all of my hard-earned info, gleaned from reading the gossip sites and magazines to bring you celebrity-approved, stylish, and trendy sandals for women over 50!
Crisscross sandals are a big hit with celebrities like Selena Gomez and Laura Harrier. There’s no wonder that these are popular with the famous crowd. Seychelles started in LA, and they routinely garner rave reviews for being comfortable and understated.
I’ve included this Vionic version because so many of us have foot issues and Vionic is a brand I’ve had good luck with in the past.
Uma Thurman wears a cute pair of wrap-around flats, but I’m not linking to them because I can only find them in the UK and they don’t ship to the US. I’ve found the similar ones above and not only are they available in the good ole USA, they are a 1/3 of the price that Uma wears.
This is a platform version of the same type of sandal. I like that this gives a bit of strappy height without putting weight on the heel. My sister hasn’t been able to wear heels of any significance for a long time because she has Morton’s Neuroma. I think these would work well for her. (Do you think celebrities worry about foot issues?) lol
Minimalistic Leather Thong by The Row
Don’t bother clicking on the picture. I didn’t even link to it. This simple thong sandal is over $600 dollars! Unless you’re Kendall Jenner, you can appreciate the photo and just keep scrolling.
Minimalistic and Affordable Thong Sandal
I found this one at Amazon for $20 dollars. If any of you have Kendall Jenner’s phone number, you might want to give her a quick call and let her know. I’m guessing it’s not up to the quality of The Row, and I’m not sure what “PU Leather” is, but I like the look, and I can wear these without being afraid I’m going to be robbed for my flip-flop!
I actually really LOVE this sandal. It just looks like luxury. At $210 dollars I guess it is. But I’m pretty sure if I asked my granddaughter if I should buy a pair, she’d say YES. These are worn by her all-time favorite, Taylor Swift! “Shake it off” and buy these. Just don’t call me and say, “Look what you made me do!” (If you don’t know that those are the names of Taylor’s songs, then you obviously didn’t have a granddaughter singing them 24/7 while at your house recently.)
Am I crazy, or do these look like the same sandal? Good news, Taylor, they’re half the price! In the photo I saw of Taylor, she was wearing sandals like this with jeans. I think they would look great styled in a multitude of ways.
Aeyde Olga Kitten Heel Sandals
Sometimes you need to dress up a little, and a flip-flop just won’t do. These Aeyde Olga sandals are a favorite of Katie Holms. I love the spiderweb straps. If you want luxury and supple leather, these are for you. They are on the steep side at just under $400 dollars.
These aren’t exactly the same, but they’re close. Plus, they’re only $75 dollars! If you’re going to hobnob with Katie you can go with the Aeyde Olga’s, otherwise, I think these are a very pretty substitute.
Birkenstocks are perennial favorites of just about everybody, not only celebrities. Reese Witherspoon and Charlize Theron are both reported to wear these. There are so many styles of Birkenstocks, but I like the slides. Any classic Birkenstock fans out there? If you have foot issues or struggle with balance, forgo this sandal and get a style with straps.
Adidas Slides aren’t just for your teenage grandchildren! Sure you’ve seen these on every volleyball player at McDonald’s waiting to get back on the team bus, but they are worn by celebrities, too. Sophie Turner and Katy Perry have been photographed wearing them. There’s a reason they are so popular. They are trendy, easy to slip on and off, and only $28 dollars!
Let me know if you have any of these or are going to try something new. It would be a “Cruel Summer” without a cute pair of sandals. Yes, that was another Taylor Swift reference. I’ll stop now. lol

12 Lord, you establish peace for us; all that we have accomplished you have done for us.
Espadrilles are my favorite summer shoe. I don’t follow celebrities only fashion bloggers like you.
yes, thank you! I am looking for sandals and so keeping your post for my shopping list¡
I can relate to Joe eating steak and ice cream, that’s my kind of breakfast. Haha, my husband would never do it, but I do, all the time.
Shoes are my weakness! Thanks for these great tips!
Thank you for showing us some sandals celebrities wear. I don’t think I’d feel foot safe in most of those. Lol I’ve had sandal accidents and plantars fasciitis for walking to far in a cute pair of slip on sandals. Give me ankle straps, arch support and soft soles. I don’t wear old lady sandals but safe sandals. Thank you for always having interesting, funny, spiritual and fashionable postings. 💕
some beautiful sandals, but I will pass. the need for looks, comfort, and safety have become my measure when considering shoes. thanks for all your work in sending them to us.
we eat our main meal at the noon time.
I really like the Amazon flip flops. Be sure to put them in your Amazon store since I can’t buy them right now.
I added them to my Shoes category on my storefront. That way you can easily find them.
Hey Tania, actually I can relate to Joe’s eating habits LOL. I like spaghetti and meatballs and black eyed peas for breakfast! Yummy!
Definitely can relate to smaller frequent meals – not big heavy meals at dinner! Never had a bowl of ice cream for breakfast – maybe some day when I’m retired!
Love the Madewell sandals – and the crisscross ones. I cannot wear flats due to foot issues – need a bit of a heel.
Love the A Emory sandal that is popular with Taylor S. and like the looks of the Madewell sandal. The Emory looks like it has more arch support and cushion……if you happen to buy the Madewell will you give some feed back or if you come across another one to check out. It is a pretty hip looking sandal and I like it…lol.
I am definitely a “shoe person” with foot issues! Thanks for the variety and options in this post!
Comfort is always number one in buying sandals. I like the crisscross sandals – they look like you could do a lot of walking in them. You are so right about not eating a lot at dinner time – we just aren’t that hungry later in the day anymore. Better to eat bigger breakfast and lunch (although I have never had a bowl of ice cream for breakfast:). I definitely don’t mind not cooking the big meal at night when I am tired. Thanks for the sandal ideas!! As always your posts always have great choices. Have a great day!!
You’re a hoot, Tania-I’m sure Taylor appreciated the heads up on the sale price! have a good day!
You are so cute 😆
