How do you like this eye-catching print? Now that I have your attention, I want to brag on myself. If I don’t do it, then who will? Lol! It is almost the middle of January, and I am still holding on to my resolutions this year!!! I think that this is something to celebrate, so I think that I’ll have a big slice of cake. NOT!!! This is the first time in a long time that I have actually held on to a resolution this long. I don’t want to jinx myself by saying this, but I wanted to tell you what I thought the secret to my success has been. I believe that I have been able to stick with this year’s resolutions because they were small goals, specific goals, and time-bound goals.
In the past, I might have made a goal that said, I want to eat healthier, or I want to lose weight. That can mean a lot of different things, and it is not specific. If I wanted to be specific, then I would have said that I want to eat fresh vegetables three days a week or stop eating chips, doughnuts, and cookies for January. For weight loss, I could have lost one pound, and that would equal weight loss. So, instead, I should have said, I want to lose 10 pounds by Valentine’s Day.
This year I got more specific about my goals, I wrote them down, and then I came up with a plan to help me stay focused. WHO AM I??? I don’t even recognize myself anymore. Organized, focused, and with a plan? You’ve heard the saying, “A Leopard Can’t Change Its Spots,” but I think otherwise. This Leopard’s spots are changing, at least in January. I’m learning to take one step at a time and one month at a time.
Eye-Catching Print Sweater
Speaking of a Leopard’s spots, have you ever seen such a gorgeous, eye-catching print? This Fuschia leopard print pullover will stop people in their tracks! This top is very soft and comfy, and the print is drop-dead gorgeous! If you like color and animal print, then you will love this top. It is a thin, lightweight pullover sweater from Gibsonlook, and it runs true to size. I am wearing a medium that fits, but it is a slender fit, so I might like a large better. You know that I don’t like anything that will show my rolls, and even though I’ve tried to lose them, they somehow always find their way back home.
Here is the back view of the sweater. It doesn’t look tight, so maybe this is the right size after all. That’s another advantage of an eye-catching print – it hides a lot of flaws! Since I am not sure, I guess I will do a foolish thing. I’ll go and ask Joe what he thinks. Hahaha!
If you are interested in seeing a post from 2018 where I showed a couple of ways to wear other eye-catching prints and bright colors all year long, then click here.
These jeans, however, are one of my favorites!!! Every time I see a photo of me wearing these jeans, I think, “those look good on me.” It’s not me; it’s the jeans. You can scroll up to see the fit from the rear, and these jeans even look good from that vantage point. They don’t bag, they hug you in the right spots, they have a little flare at the hem, and they are comfortable at the waist. If I didn’t blog and have to take photos of different pants all of the time, I would probably live in these jeans.
When I order from Joe’s Jeans, I have figured out that I need to size up one size. I usually wear a size 10, which is equal to a 30, but in this line of jeans, I need to order a 31. These are a long pair of jeans, so be sure to consider that when ordering. I have read several reviews where people said they had to hem the jeans, which might be an option for you. If you are looking for a great pair of jeans, you can’t go wrong with this pair. I did see several pairs on sale from this brand, so I’ll link to those also. I’ve ordered the black pair with the distressed knees to wear this spring and summer with a white t-shirt! I love that look!
I know that you’ve seen me wear this chunky heel bootie a ton. These boots are easy to slip on, and the large chunky heel gives them a stable platform to walk on. The neutral color is perfect for wearing with almost anything, and now they are on sale for only $35.90!!! I am wearing my usual size 9 in these boots, and they fit true to size. Stop what you are doing, order these boots, and then go back to read the post. Lol!

Thanks, Lorie!!! I was pretty excited.
Love this look on you! Congratulations on keeping up on your goals, you are looking even slimmer and I can see it in your face and smile! I am still stuck at home, but walking each day and staying safe and close to home. Thank you for all your inspiration!
I think that I am starting to see a difference in my face too. When you see results, it is easier to stick to your goals.
Those jeans are a winner! They look terrific. Nice & slimming. I know they would be too long on me. But they are great for you.
Love your blogs, your uplifting spirit & the Bible verse of the day.
Thank you
The jeans are great. I am so glad that you are enjoying the blog.
So proud that you have stuck to your goal plan and shared with others! way to go!
Well, I don’t want to jinx it, but I am pretty happy so far.
You sparkle in this photo and maybe its not just your outfit but the fact that you are sticking to your goals. My goal was to figure out an eating plan and stick to it so I didn’t have to think about it every day but I don’t feel like I’ve done that. You are right…those jeans look awesome on you!
Sandy, I am taking baby steps. That way I am not feeling overwhelmed.
Yeah for you! Anytime your blog starts with Ya’ll… I know its gonna be a good story, LOL. Fashion, faith and fun.. the sweater is awesome.
Lol! That makes me laugh!!!
I bought those boots a few weeks ago! What a great deal. And I love them!
Oh, Brenda! I can see YOU wearing these boots!!! They will look so cute on you.
I’ve adopted your goal of talking to one person a day that I haven’t talked to in a while. You can’t imagine how happy people are when they hear me! What an easy gift to give others!
Nancy, isn’t that an awesome feeling?
Congratulations on sticking to your goals. Much continued success. You look so pretty in pink.
Thanks, Donna. I’ve always loved pink, but it used to be baby pink. Now, I love the bright vibrant pink.
Tania, you have bragger’s rights! You are going strong and looking great! I’ve been getting back into the exercise ring, but girl, it is hard! I hate to exercise! I do enjoy lifting weights if I can motivate myself to get ready and go all the way down to the gym… (in the basement) LOL! I like to walk outside on semi pretty days. We’ve had some cold weather! I love the sweater, it’s so cute on you!
I hate it too, Melesa. The only time that I started looking forward to exercising, I pulled something and had to stop. Then, I never got back into it.
Since you’re talking about food and goals, I thought I’d mention that in September, I encouraged my husband Joe, a meat with a side of meat kind of guy, to try a whole foods plant based eating plan before the new year kicked in. I’ve been ‘mostly’ eating that way for around 40 years, which has helped me stay under my goal weight of 110 pounds at 5’2″. Since then, he’s down 15 pounds, without going hungry or exercising, by eating unlimited quantities of unprocessed whole foods. I get meal ideas from youtubers like Plantiful Kiki, Marie Alexandria, High Carb Hannah, Jill Mckeever and Krocks in the Kitchen. My husband now incorporates chicken, eggs, sauces and a handful of nuts here and there, but has mostly ditched his daily diet of steak, processed foods, cheese, Magnum Ice Cream Bars and mindless snacking.
Joe and I went on a plant-based diet for about 3 months and loved it. Then we went on vacation, and could never get back in the groove. I’ll check those out because I struggle with what to cook.
You are adorable.Love your blog.
Awww, thanks so much!
