SOUTHWESTERN STYLE USING PRIMARY COLORS
Can you believe that October is almost here? It is just crazy to think how fast this year has gone. We have a Halloween party over at our local country club, and it just hit me today, that I needed to start looking for outfits for me and Joe. He says he is not dressing up, but he said that last year too. Lol!
I need some suggestions. Last year we went as a 1920’s gangster and his flapper girl, but I have no clue about this year. Joe is the outgoing one of the two of us, I am more reserved and shy. But when it comes to Halloween, I am all in. We used to set up in the parking lot at work and give out candy. We started having theme costumes, such as the cast from the Wizard of Oz complete with the yellow brick road. Clowns with the big top and making balloon animals, Witches (of course), and even Pirates with a shipwreck and sand everywhere. Yep, I LOVE Halloween!
I think this outfit has an southwestern feel. I am not sure why, do you feel that way too? I just bought this top a couple months ago, when I was on my way to the woman’s club convention. It is sleeveless, so I am not sure why it was a new fall outfit, but I bought it anyway. I hug it in the closet, and of course I soon forgot that it was there. I found it this morning, and knew if I wanted to get any wear out of it this year, I had better get moving. The top is a brand I had never bought before, called Hayden.
I am offering all of you some savings if you are in the market for some new Plunder jewelry. I am going to be offering 10% off any order that totals 50.00 or more. I wish there was a way for this to happen at checkout, and maybe there will be a way when the new software comes out. Until then, here is what I will do. Place your order (go to www.plunderdesign.com/taniastephens), email me with you order number, and I will send you the 10%, either by Paypal or by check.
I bought these red ankle pants back in early February. I thought I would wear them for Valentines day, but I ended up wearing something else. These are by Banana Republic, and I bought them at the outlet malls in Florida. My BFF, Sandy and I went to the malls everyday that we were in Florida. The men played golf, and we shopped. It was WONDERFUL!
The red Dooney & Bourke satchel is one that I bought at the outlet store in town, and it was really cheap for a Dooney purse. This was a return to QVC, because there was some stains on the inside lining. The stains were not bad, and there are probably plenty more now.

I don’t know of you’ve done this earlier in your blog, but I’d love to have a series of photos of you doing your hair. Like, from wet to complete, what do you do to style it?
Here is a post I did on styling my hair.

Hey, Tania, I want to see your last year’s Halloween costumes, pretty please!?
I meant to put it on the post, but forgot. I will add it to a post soon.
Halloween is my most favorite holiday second to Christmas. I can’t get my work people interested in it that much. My nieces dress up (5 and 3) so I will be with my sister and them that night. I just love decorating and dressing up. I have gone like a pirate so many times, or a cat, so this year I’m doing something different. I just don’t know what yet! I also dress up my dog Gino!! We have won several costume contests and he LOVES to dress up!
I am a runner and most of my clothes except for work, are mostly all from the active departments. I love fabletics and their workout leggings. I just got in a pair of Christmas Red ones and how fitting you have a post with red pants! I can’t wait to look for tops like this to pair with my red leggings.
Halloween is my favoriate holiday. What about a ‘witch & black cat’ for costumes. You could be either role and hubby can be the other. Please post what ever you decide on please. Having fun is the important part.
I like the red purse, but I’m partial to red purses 😉
I think the red bag is the best, but I love red purses! The whole outfit is soooooo classy!
Such a cute look. I like both purses, and I agree that the red looks slightly better….but I probably would’ve carried the blue…..I’m on a blue kick for some reason. I’ve purchased so much lately that I have to think about NOT wearing blue every day! LOL
Your hair, BTW, is looking especially adorable lately. XOXO
Oh! And, several years ago my husband & I won a costume contest as Herman and Lily Munster. He is a foot taller than me, so that helped. ; )
What a great look!!!! I love the southwest look, and again your hair looks amazing 🙂
I am a huge purse fanatic, lol, and the red Dooney is to die for.
Have a great day!
We’re not Halloween people so I can’t help you there!
But I love this outfit—it’s great for this time of year when it’s chilly in the mornings, but hotter in the afternoons!!

Your hair looks beautiful!
Last year we went to our first Halloween costume party in 25 years of marriage! My husband is a Star Trek fan so we dressed as Jim and Ohura. It was so popular and easy.
Hi Tania:
Love the outfit, but I like the blue purse with the outfit even though red is my favourite colour.
Maria
Great outfit and looks patriotic with the red, white and blue. As election season is in high gear, not to mention 9/11 just past, I find myself wearing more of this mix.
Ballerinas – great! Guess it’s time for me to start transitioning to more substantial shoes. You’ll find me wearing sandals until my toes freeze – just hate to store them, knowing the white stuff is not far behind.
Flo from Progressive and Mayhem from Allstate makes a cute couples costume. I love your look today!
Halloween seems like the thing for me! We dont do much here in the Netherlands, but I wished we did! Please show us how you went! You picked some great bags!
Your friend Susie reminds me of my mother who used to say she was naked if she wasn’t wearing earrings. Your outfit is great and I like it best with the red purse. I have a suggestion for a Halloween costume theme – Steampunk (google it if you need to see examples). Suitable for a guy and gal, you can be very creative, and use clothing you already own or find in thrift stores (like I did last year).

Hi Tania, Such cute looks today – have also decided to wear ballerinas – smile!
Also can’t believe it’s October – Halloween is not quite as cool here as in the US but we still have loads of fun.
Wishing you a fab day…and just in case you feel like checking out highlights from Milan Fashion Week including the Max Mara show I went to: http://funkyforty.com/max-mara-summer-secret-mfw-ss-2017/
