QUEEN OF COLOR
I feel like the Seinfeld of Blogs. You remember watching Seinfeld, don’t you? There was a whole lot of nothing going on, it was just about the normal days of the characters. That is how I feel sometimes. I don’t have an exciting life where I am jet setting off to the Caribbean or flying to Paris for fashion week. Instead, I am going to work every day, trying to figure out a new computer system, and going to buy flowers at the greenhouse. Cue the music and come back after the commercial break. Lol!,
I do have a trip coming up in the near future, we are going to visit my baby girl in Alaska. I can’t wait to see her since I haven’t got to see her since last summer when she came in for a week. It is a really long trip and the time difference between us is 4 hours. That takes some getting used to once you get there. It will be cool there even though it will be July, so I will have to think about what to pack for us. I may pack my Hunter rain boots since Juneau is a rain forest and it rains often. The last time we visited her I about froze to death and it was in May. Lol! I have learned from my experience and I will be packing some sweatshirts and jackets. She will probably be running around in tank tops and shorts. Haha!
What do I talk about first? I love this orchid cardigan that I bought from J. Crew. The cardigan is at least a year old but it matches this top perfectly. I love this color and I have several items that will look good with it. Someone called me the Queen of Color the other day in a comment and I loved that!!! I do enjoy color, it makes me happy and it makes me feel good. That is my goal on this blog. To make you feel good about yourself. I hope I accomplish that either in my writing or in my fashion. Everyone deserves to feel good and have confidence in themselves.
This top is by Violet + Claire. I can’t remember for sure, but I think I got this at TJ Maxx a couple years ago. If you only wear something 3 or 4 times a year then it should last you a very long time. The last time I wore this top was last July. WOW! It is a completely different look from the last time. When you buy items in the colors that you like you will find that your wardrobe will be able to mix and match easily.
Yesterday was my R+F payday. We are not allowed to say what we make because everyone doesn’t make the same amount. It is dependant on how much work you put into the business. Wow, that sounds a lot like life. Lol! This business is not for everyone but for those who really need or want to earn an extra income it is completely do-able. Send me an email to fiftyisnotold@gmail.com and I will be very honest with you about the business, the perks, the work that goes into it, and the payoff. Plan B is swiftly becoming my Plan B+. Lol!!!
Do you know what my number one referrer page is? It is Pinterest! I truly appreciate every time you “pin” a picture. Heck, pin ALL the pictures if you want. Lol! Also, if you would like to share my posts on Facebook or Twitter, I would appreciate that. It helps get my blog out to more people, and I am sure you just want to spread the entertaining sayings I have. Lol! The comment section is at the end of the post, so keep scrolling. I look forward to reading all the comments, they make my day.
Be sure to follow me on Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook.

That is a perfect summer outfit!
Thank you for showing how to wear color! I have a closet full of gray, black and tan…enough is enough! I remember getting my “color reading” done before my wedding 28+ years ago. The consultant would put you in a season based on your skin tone and eye color etc. I am a summer! Your blog reminded me that I have a whole beautiful array of colors that I can choose from to wear appropriately. You are the best!!
I love this outfit, these are great colors for you. Your jewelry is perfect and I like both of your necklaces.
I really like this outfit on you. I am a color person myself. We are off to Alaska in July too! Thanks for the advice on taking some clothes for cool weather. I am never sure what to pack. We will be gone for 14 days!!!!!
Check the weather before you go. You will need a rain jacket with a hood. It mists a lot there but no one is Alaska carries an umbrella. When it starts to rain they flip up the hood and when it quits they take it back down. Lol!
Cute cute outfit! L?VE the colors . The D&B bag is to die for ?
Love today’s outfit – so summery! Love your blog too. You don’t have to be a jet setter and have a super exciting life. We all love that we can relate to you in your everyday life! Keep it real! ? Sometimes I feel like I have a whole new wardrobe just by using the ideas you give. Thank you, Tania!!! Blessings on your day! ?
I totally agree Tania…that dressing nice is to feel good about yourself. I know many think that fashion is fluff, but I can’t tell you how much confidence Nancy (the 60+ model on my blog) has gained since she’s taken an interest in what she wears!! I think you can teach an old dog new tricks, if they want to learn!
I love seeing your outfits because you love color almost as much as I do!!
And all of our lives are a little of nothing—it’s finding the gems that make everyday special!!

Your writings are like my writings …chitchat and I feel like I’m listening to a friend talk. I learn something everyday! I’ve been a business owner and I can relate to your life and your struggles. However, I’m not so good at fashion so that’s where you are doing good for this 57 year old. This is one of my favorite outfits and I like how you tell what each piece is! Thank you for taking time out of your day to write. ?
Love the orchid sweater. Your hair style is looking a little different lately. Have you changed the cut? Love it! Can you post a side and back view. I am growing out my very short hair and think this style would work for me. Thanks for all of the pretty posts. Have a blessed day!
Who cares if you are not jetting off to Paris for fashion week? You are a breath of fresh air among bloggers! I love this print top and orchid sweater on you – such a happy combination and perfectly suited for your personality!
