The weather has finally decided to cool off for a little bit. I was beginning to think that fall was never going to show up, but it is finally here, and I’m thrilled! I love fall clothing because it is warm and cozy, and I love the jewel-tone colors. Today, I’m going to show you how to style one pair of pants five ways for fall.

How to Style One Pair Of Pants Five Ways

When you want to make your wardrobe look more extensive than it is, then you need to get creative. Learning to wear your clothing in multiple ways will expand your wardrobe visually, if not literally.

  • Keep the core piece neutral. Most of the time, when we dress, we want people to remember what we are wearing. That is NOT the case if you want to style items in multiple ways. Keep the item neutral, and don’t pick a statement piece that people will remember.
  • Dress in layers. Adding a coat, jacket, cardigan, or wrap can drastically change the look of the outfit.
  • Statement accessories can be the star of the outfit. If you wear bold earrings or a statement necklace, that will grab all of the attention, and no one will notice that you are wearing the same top or pants.
  • Change up the shoes. Shoes can make a huge difference, and they can change the look from dressy to casual. Changing the color of the shoes also makes a big difference.
  • Finally, pick items that can be worn with multiple things. A white shirt, a navy sweater, or a camel top are all examples of tops that could be paired with multiple pants or jackets to look different each time.

How to Style One Pair Of Pants Five Ways – Animal Print

The “one” pair of pants that I will be wearing with all of the looks is the Vegan Suede Bootcut Jeans in Costa Coffee. You will love the way these jeans look and fit! These are super comfortable, and the stretch fabric is buttery soft. I doubt that you’ll fool anyone that these are real suede, but they still look amazing and are perfect for fall. I’m wearing my usual size 8, and I think the jeans run true to size. I’m also wearing the Refined Belt in Rye or Black in the photos. It looks like there is a Waitlist on all the colors except Mocha. I’m wearing a medium in the belts.

Now, let’s get down to the fun stuff. What did I pair with the coffee-colored jeans??? I wanted to start off with a BANG, so I added this gorgeous Animal Print Cashmere Sweater. I’ve been eyeing this cashmere sweater for a while, and I finally decided to take the plunge and order it. I am so glad that I did!!! This is soft, as you would expect, and I know I’ll be wearing it on repeat. Don’t worry about it being a statement piece; after all, animal print is a neutral. Lol!

Layering is a great way to wear the same pieces but get a different look. I added the tan Cropped Jacket that I styled in the Latest Fall Styles From Kohl’s post a couple of weeks ago. The jacket looks great with the deep coffee color and picks up the lighter brown in the cashmere sweater.

How to Style One Pair Of Pants Five Ways – Denim Jacket

This look is a casual outfit that would be perfect for a crisp fall day. I can see myself wearing this to the store, a ballgame, going to a friend’s house, etc.

The burgundy Mongolian Cashmere Polo Sweater is so soft, and I love the way it looks and feels. I’m trying to decide if I need to order a medium to see if that size would fit me better. The sweater is a drop-sleeve, so it is going to be a tad oversized, and I don’t want it to fit too tight. Oh well, I’ve sat here and talked myself into trying the medium because I’ll always wonder until I check it out. The great thing about Quince is they have a 365-day return policy, so I’ll not be rushed to send one of them back.

If you don’t have this essential fall item, then order the Stretch Denim Jacket NOW! I have many denim jackets, and I like each of them for different reasons. But, if I had to get rid of all of them but one, this would be the one I keep. It’s not the most expensive, but it is the one I reach for every time!

How to Style One Pair Of Pants Five Ways – Satin Shirt

While this outfit is casual looking, I would call it an elevated casual look. This is my preferred way to dress since it isn’t too casual or too dressy. It works for multiple occasions, so you will get plenty of wear with it.

I love a satin shirt because it can be dressed up or down. Normally, all my satin shirts are solid colors, but I couldn’t resist this Leopard Satin Button Down Blouse. I love the blouse with the faux suede jeans, but it would look great with regular jeans or black dress pants.

To elevate the look even more, I added this gorgeous trench coat. The description does not call is faux suede, but that is how it looks and feels to me.

Here is a look at the trench snapped close and tied with the belt. This is a beautiful, lightweight coat for fall, but I don’t think it would do much to keep the rain out. The description does say that the coat needs to be dry-cleaned, so take that into consideration if you are thinking about ordering it.

How to Style One Pair Of Pants Five Ways – Plaid

Don’t you just love all these deep caramel colors? Even my hydrangeas got in the fall mood with their bright golds and tans.

I love everything about this outfit! The Burnt Caramel Satin Shirt is perfect for fall, and it matches the Plaid Blazer like they were meant to be worn together. This is the perfect fitting satin shirt, and it comes in several colors. The shirt is on sale, and at this price, you can grab a couple.

The Plaid Blazer is also lightweight, which is what I look for in early fall. I don’t want anything too heavy or confining since the weather hasn’t dipped into the 40s yet. The jacket isn’t lined, so if that is a detail you look for, you might want to skip this one. The jacket does come in a taupe/navy blue version if this color is too bright for you.

How to Style One Pair Of Pants Five Ways – Cardigan

The last outfit is probably the most casual of all. This is an easy-going, laid-back look that is perfect for running errands, etc. It looks polished and put together without looking stuffy.

This Cable Stitch Cardigan is definitely not for you ladies in Flordia, Texas, etc. It is fairly heavyweight and will be so warm and cozy this winter. I’m wearing the cardigan as a pullover sweater, but you can also wear it open with a shirt underneath. I love the cable stitch pattern, and the color is a fabulous neutral that is great for fall and winter.

How to Style One Pair Of Pants Five Ways – Accessories

The accessories for my outfits were not the star of the show. Even though a few of them, like the Tortoiseshell Chainlink Bracelet, Ridged Cuff Bracelet, Chainlink Bracelet, and Long Strand Necklace in Teal Mix, were statement pieces, they still played a supporting role. I think that accessories make or break a look, so you should always try to add earrings, a necklace, or a bracelet to give the outfit a finished look.

So, what do you think? Can you see yourself wearing any of these outfits? Which is your favorite?
