NEW HAIR AND BEAUTY PRODUCTS FROM WALMART

 

One of the goals for this year is to branch out and try new beauty and skincare products. So many of us (hand raised here) tend to use the same products that we have for years. If those products still look great on you, continue what you are doing. But, if your hair, complexion, style, or skin has changed, you might need to check out what other products are out there.

 

This year, I’ve tried several new makeup and skincare lines, but I have not branched out with hair products. So, today I am exploring a new line from Walmart that includes hair, body wash, and lotion.

Years ago, my mother and one of her friends came to visit. We had never met my mother’s friend before, and she surprised me when she told me that she had brought her breakfast cereal and a bar of soap with her. She went on to say that she figured some people didn’t want to use other people’s soap, so she brought her own. Since then, I have tried to make sure that I keep body wash or cleaner in the guest showers.

I bought the Vegan Hydrating Body Wash Gel Cleanser With Ginger, Ashwagandha & Orange Peel Extract For Dry Skin and the Vegan Creamy Body Wash with Lavender, Chamomile & Oatmeal Extracts for Soothing Relaxation. I have extremely dry skin, and I like taking showers in the morning, so I prefer the Good Daze cleanser with ginger and orange peel. I’ve noticed that Joe reaches for the creamy wash with oatmeal, and that’s perfect since he takes his showers at night. One thing that I did notice about these products is that they don’t create a lot of foamy lather. That is probably because they are Sulfate & Paraben Free.

The last time that I went to my hairdresser, I mentioned that the hairspray I use has a mega hold and that my hair can feel like straw at times. She suggested that I occasionally use a clarifying shampoo to help with the buildup.

I decided to try the Honey Fresh Aloe Vera Clarifying Shampoo for Buildup because it is moisturizing and hydrating. I saw in a review that someone said the shampoo had a strong scent, so I was a little worried about using it. However, I didn’t find the scent unpleasant or strong, and it didn’t give me a headache like some shampoos have done. I lathered up my hair and then left it to soak off the buildup while I shaved my legs with my Billie Razor. It worked great, and my hair felt squeaky clean after getting out of the shower.

I ordered this product because I was curious about the bottle’s design. It says that this is fine to use with all hair types, but I’m not sure this product is for me.

This is a Mint Condition Tingling Scalp Conditioner with Shea Butter, Aloe Vera, Eucalyptus & Peppermint scalp wash. I saw the shea butter and aloe vera mentioned, and I completely skipped over the eucalyptus and peppermint. I applied this to portions of my scalp, then rubbed it in. I enjoyed the tingling feeling and the smell, but I made the mistake of touching my eyes. That was not enjoyable, and I had to wash off the oils with soap. The instructions on the back said this could be used for people with weaves and braids, and I bet it does a wonderful job if you keep it out of your eyes.

I ordered these three products for my daughter to try. She has naturally curly hair when she doesn’t straighten it with a flat iron. She smelled of all of them and gave them a thumbs up. She loved that the brand is Vegan, Sulfate, and Cruelty-Free, and after reading the ingredients, the Mask On Moisturizing Deep Conditioning Hair Mask with Coconut Oil & Mango Seed Butter is the one she is using first. She mentioned that I bought all masks and conditioners and didn’t buy shampoo. Lol! She wants to try the Smooth Attitude Hydrating Hair Milk for Curly Hair and the Real Love Argan Oil Hair Mask & Soy Protein Deep Conditioner Treatment for Dry Damaged Natural Hair after giving the first product a chance to see results.

I ordered Watch Me Whip Vegan Whipped Body Cream with Niacinamide & Avocado Oil for Dry Skin because it has a dark spot corrector. Unfortunately, it sold out before it could ship, so I ordered the Softer Than A Mutha Vegan Softening Body Butter Cream with Shea Butter, Vitamin E & Moringa Oil for Dry Skin instead. I just noticed that the Body Cream with the dark spot corrector is back in stock, so I ordered it before it could sell out again.

This is a product that melts when you apply it to your skin. It doesn’t sink in right away; it is similar to coconut oil. I love using this type of product at night on my heels and elbows, and my daughter-in-law loves this over a cream or lotion.

Because I know that you will ask, the yellow Button-Down Shirt with Short Sleeves that I’m wearing is also from Walmart. I’m wearing a size medium, and the fit is perfect for me.
