MONOCHROMATIC STYLE IS AN EFFORTLESS LOOK

Last night I held a training for people who were interested in learning more about Instagram. There were about nine ladies who showed up, and hopefully, everyone left with a better understanding. Most of these ladies are like me, and they all work online. So, understanding how social media works is essential to their business. I am not an expert when it comes to social media, and I didn’t know if what I was teaching would be something that they needed.
When it comes to learning social media, I think that as we get older, we are afraid to try anything new. This is not just for the younger generation; it is excellent for all of us for several reasons. I love connecting to people from all over the country and getting a peek inside their world. Plus, you can use Instagram as a search engine, that is what the hashtags are for. So, if I wanted to look at people who were remodeling their homes, I would type in #remodel or #remodeling. If I wanted to look at bloggers wearing ankle boots, then I would use #ankleboots, #anklebooties,  #anklebootsover40, or #bootsforwomenover40. This is not the first time that I have worn this lovely gray Fairisle sweater for the Loft Outlet. The first time I wore this sweater (here), I wore it with colored pants. So, I thought that today I would show you a monochromatic style. It looks like I am back to wearing gray again after my bright and colorful post yesterday. This sweater is 55% Cotton, 35% Rayon, and 10% Polyester, so this is not like the fuzzy sweaters that I showed you yesterday. I love the calming look of this sweater, the design, and even the mock turtleneck. I am wearing a medium, and it fits me PERFECTLY! This sweater is on a “final sale,” so it can’t be returned or exchanged.

I loved the design of the sweater so much that I didn’t want to wear a necklace. The design deserved to be the star of the show, so I only added a pair of earrings and a bracelet to my look. The Logan Bangle from the styled collection is a silver twist cuff bracelet with a large pearl stone on each end. It is very similar to a David Yurman bracelet, but without the price tag.

The Avi earrings are a large silver hoop with a twist from Kendra Scott. I love these earrings, and I wear them a lot, but you probably already know that. Lol! I am wearing them so much that I decided that I needed another pair of silver earrings. These are a little bit smaller, and they are a geometric style.

I love the monochromatic look of the pants and the sweater. A monochromatic look is timeless and classic, and it takes the guesswork out of “does this go together?” The gray(ish) Sailor pants are from The Loft, and they fit like a legging. I am wearing my usual size 10, so I find that they run true to size. I like the Sailor button details, but you can wear a sweater and cover them up if you want. These are on sale for 60% off, so they are a great deal, especially since you can wear these pants year-round.
