50 Is Not Old | Mint Green MonochromaticWhy have I resisted pastels for so long??? Today’s outfit is mint green monochromatic and I am loving this look. This is not at all a color I would normally gravitate toward, but the shirt was calling my name. I tried to ignore the whispers, but I could hear it saying “I’m so soft, come feel me.” “You love checks.” “I promise I’ll be easy to wear, look no buttons.” Lol!50 Is Not Old | Mint Green MonochromaticOn the way to Tennessee, we stopped for a little shopping. Shocking, I know! I went into Maurices with Bertha, one of my BFF’s. She had a gift card from Christmas that was burning a hole in her pocket. She was paying and I was walking out the door, when I heard the soft whisperings. I looked up on the wall and saw this shirt. I was immediately smitten.50 Is Not Old | Mint Green MonochromaticI’m not even sure what color this is, but the website calls it sea salt. I had them get me down a size large, and went to pay. Then as I was waiting in line, I turned around and saw these leggings. They would not have been my first choice. They had a soft pink, a soft yellow, and a coral. I decided to give the mint a try since it was not something I already had in my closet.50 Is Not Old | Mint Green MonochromaticI found this Chloe & Isabel necklace that I received when I signed up to be a merchandiser, and I thought it would go perfect with this outfit. There was only one problem, it was not long enough. This is a convertible necklace, so I could have taken off the shorter pendants, but I wanted all three. So, I improvised. I took a short necklace, and attached it to the C & I necklace. I was wearing a collar, so I knew you would never see the short necklace. I use this method all the time, with either a short necklace, or if that is too long, I use a bracelet. 50 Is Not Old | Mint Green MonochromaticThe crystal earrings and link bracelet are also from Chloe & Isabel. The boyfriend watch was a gift from Bertha years ago.50 Is Not Old | Mint Green MonochromaticHere is a side view, not the most flattering look for me, but I can’t go through life only facing head first. Haha Can you believe how well this little straw purse matches my outfit. I bought this for about 10.00 at the vintage fashion show. It is not really vintage, but I liked the colors and thought it looked “springy.” I added a pop-of-color with these coral shoes that I bought at DSW in Atlanta when I went to visit my sister. I bought three pair of shoes there and only paid 30.00 for all of them together. I love the clearance aisle. Here are some links to the outfit I have on.

Congratulations for being featured on Fabulous After 40!!! I’m thinking a TV show is in your future! I’d watch it every day! Could you do a post sometime about jewelry? Like what the basic pieces should be and what to think about when adding to your jewelry collection. There are multitudes of styles out there and I get a bit overwhelmed. I want to be trendy with jewelry but I don’t want to get stuck with pieces that will look ridiculous 5 years from now. Does anyone else have this problem?
