MINT GREEN MONOCHROMATIC
Why have I resisted pastels for so long??? Today’s outfit is mint green monochromatic and I am loving this look. This is not at all a color I would normally gravitate toward, but the shirt was calling my name. I tried to ignore the whispers, but I could hear it saying “I’m so soft, come feel me.” “You love checks.” “I promise I’ll be easy to wear, look no buttons.” Lol!
On the way to Tennessee, we stopped for a little shopping. Shocking, I know! I went into Maurices with Bertha, one of my BFF’s. She had a gift card from Christmas that was burning a hole in her pocket. She was paying and I was walking out the door, when I heard the soft whisperings. I looked up on the wall and saw this shirt. I was immediately smitten.
I’m not even sure what color this is, but the website calls it sea salt. I had them get me down a size large, and went to pay. Then as I was waiting in line, I turned around and saw these leggings. They would not have been my first choice. They had a soft pink, a soft yellow, and a coral. I decided to give the mint a try since it was not something I already had in my closet.
I found this Chloe & Isabel necklace that I received when I signed up to be a merchandiser, and I thought it would go perfect with this outfit. There was only one problem, it was not long enough. This is a convertible necklace, so I could have taken off the shorter pendants, but I wanted all three. So, I improvised. I took a short necklace, and attached it to the C & I necklace. I was wearing a collar, so I knew you would never see the short necklace. I use this method all the time, with either a short necklace, or if that is too long, I use a bracelet.
The crystal earrings and link bracelet are also from Chloe & Isabel. The boyfriend watch was a gift from Bertha years ago.
Here is a side view, not the most flattering look for me, but I can’t go through life only facing head first. Haha Can you believe how well this little straw purse matches my outfit. I bought this for about 10.00 at the vintage fashion show. It is not really vintage, but I liked the colors and thought it looked “springy.” I added a pop-of-color with these coral shoes that I bought at DSW in Atlanta when I went to visit my sister. I bought three pair of shoes there and only paid 30.00 for all of them together. I love the clearance aisle. Here are some links to the outfit I have on.

Love this color! And the checks!
I absolutely LOVE this. I would have never thought to put the 2 mint pieces together, and then the coral shoes. BUT I LOVE IT. So so so cute.
That’s a great tip to lengthen a necklace. Thank you. Long good as always
Hi Tania, congratulations, great article and interview! I also love this outfit and the color is great on you. I am 55 tomorrow and you have inspired me with all of your great outfits, color combinations and humor. Thank you!

Awesome job on the interview!!! I love your sense of humor and your style!
You look awesome in the mint and checks. Great with the straw bag too. I’m feeling the summer! You keep saying you shop in Tennessee. Please share your shopping stops if you can.
Karen, we have two stops we make on our way to Tennessee. One is at exit 7 in Abingdon, VA and the other is called The Pinnacle in Bristol Tn.
Hi Tania. I just found your blog today through the Fabulous After 40 blog. I am a Southwest Virginia girl who has been transplanted in Virginia Beach. Love your style!
Bulls’ eye! Love it so much and you look radiant in it (and great from the side). Spring has sprung and I just love your youthful, fun, yet appropriate and classy style. So inspirationtion to me (another 50 something who loves color). Keep it coming.
Congratulations for being featured on Fabulous After 40!!! I’m thinking a TV show is in your future! I’d watch it every day! Could you do a post sometime about jewelry? Like what the basic pieces should be and what to think about when adding to your jewelry collection. There are multitudes of styles out there and I get a bit overwhelmed. I want to be trendy with jewelry but I don’t want to get stuck with pieces that will look ridiculous 5 years from now. Does anyone else have this problem?
Thanks so much Tania !had to order that outfit right away !love the color on you and enjoy it humor !thanks for making me want EVERYTHING lol
*your autocorrect ugh!
That is a problem Kimberely. I will think about it, and then try to do a post. Thanks for the idea.
I have only been following you for a short time. So far this is my favorite outfit on you. You look adorable. Thanks for all of the inspiration.
You look great in this color!

Love your blog!!!! I have a question about you beautiful nails! Are they acrylic ? They always look so fresh and pretty. I would love a blog about how you keep your hand and manicure so sharp!
Love the look! I like the OPI My Chihauhau Bites as a great coral nail color. Goes with everything. They say coral is universally flattering.
Today’s outfit just shouts “SPRING”! You look very pretty in the mint! It’s such a pretty color, and flatters everyone. So feminine! – I really enjoyed reading your interview. Good questions, and your answers are spot on! Great job! Thumbs up!!!

You look fabulous! Great color on you. Thoroughly enjoyed the interview at Fab After 40. I started following your blog because your style is amazing and you keep it real. You admit to having bumps and rolls like many of us do. You are a lovely person and a delight to read each morning.
Oh for the days of no bumps and rolls. Hahaha

I’m in the next decade up from you but agree that age is a state of mind. Thanks to you I feel younger every time I read your blog. I was feeling “crabby” yesterday so I ordered the crab sweater from Belk on sale! How fun that sweater is. Thanks for uplifting me everyday!
Doreen
So glad you found the blog. Sounds like you have got the whole “age is an attitude” figured out. You’re one of the gurls now! 🙂
You look great in this spring inspired outfit. I also love colors but this is a lovely change.
Thanks, Gina! It’s nice to get out of your comfort zone every now and then. I’m branching out, slowly. LOL
ooooo, I have to go to Maurices tomorrow to return some pants and now I totally want this look!!!! I’ve been thinking about getting one of the pastel jeggings. This looks super cute and I don’t know if I would’ve thought to pair it together. Thanks for sharing!!!!! 🙂

I love the color on you! You should wear it more often. The look is very cute. Congratulations on the post of your fellow bloggers site. It is a very nice story and she really put a lot of your pictures in it. I really enjoy starting my work day with you. Have a great weekend.
I think I need that mint gingham shirt!
This is an adorable outfit for you. Hope you try more pastels!
I read the article about you on Fabulous After 40 – hope it brings even more folks to your blog/FB page!
You’ve got me liking the coral sandals and am going to try the Bella Vita Fabric and Leather Wedge Sandals – Ravenna you linked for us. I’m not familiar with their sizing so hope it’s standard. That color screams spring, something we need in the northeast this weekend as they predict snow. Just hope they won’t be too high but I’m going to go out of my comfort zone.
Thanks for your inspiration!
It was in the 70’s here yesterday, but hey are predicting snow for us late next week. Don’t you just love the spring weather? Haha
Loved the article in fabulous after 40. Congrats. Your are really becoming a famous blogger !
Thanks for the article and the laugh! Famous, LOL!!!! That made me laugh and almost spit out my coffee. ?
Love the mint with a pop of color. What color is the lovely coral toenail polish?? Also did you ever figure out the nude gel polish color???
Thanks,
Lisa
No, I went to my salon on Monday, but they had changed out all their polishes and they didn’t have that one anymore. They are now carrying a brand called Cuccio. Before almost everything was OPI. I got a pretty color this time that is a light gray (never tried this color before) and it was called Quick As A Bunny. How cute is that? I wish I had done this BEFORE Easter. Haha
