I know a lot of us grew up believing that once Labor Day rolls around, the white jeans are put away until after Memorial Day. I’m here today to free you from the past and drag you into modern times by showing you how to wear white jeans for fall and winter.

My Favorite Qualities in White Jeans for Women

Before we talk about HOW to style white jeans, we should talk about WHAT white jeans we should wear. I have tried out many pairs of white jeans (a pro of being a fashion blogger, haha!) over the years in every style possible. My main requirement for a pair of white jeans is that they aren’t see-through! I combat this mainly by wearing nude underwear and looking for pants made of high-quality materials. I also love finding pants that help to repel stains since white jeans seem to be a magnet for lipstick stains and spilled coffee like these made with no-stain fabric from Chicos. The jeans I’m wearing in all the outfits are made of this fabric, and I’ve worn them all summer long with no issues.

How To Wear White Jeans For Fall And Winter – Neutral Colors

One of the easiest ways to wear white jeans for fall and winter has to do with the colors you choose to pair with them. Wearing your white, natural, ivory, or ecru jeans with traditional fall colors, like this rusty brown colored long sweater, keeps your outfit looking seasonal. Neutral colors look fabulous when paired with white. Beige and white are two of my favorite combinations because they look so chic and classy.

I love wearing no-stain jeans and pants from Chico’s, and that is where this pair is from. These are the No-Stain White Denim Ankle Jeggings, and I sized up from a .5 to a 1 in them. I usually size up one size when wearing white jeans and white pants because I don’t want them to be so tight that you can see through them.

The layering Shell sweater is the perfect taupe color, and it is perfect for wearing with white jeans. I’ll wear this shell in the summer with shorts and chinos, and I never put away my shell or tanks in the winter. I ordered a large, but I think the medium would have fit better. The shell was too big for me, especially under the arms. I wanted to show this photo because it shows what a difference that adding jewelry makes.

How To Wear White Jeans For Fall And Winter – Denim Jacket

If you don’t already own a denim jacket (or two, or three, or four), we can change that today! I wear a Denim Jacket all year long, yes, even in the summer. If I made a list of clothing that all women (no matter the age) should own, a denim jacket would be high on the list.

I paired the denim jacket with a Mongolian Cashmere Polo Sweater in a gorgeous brown color. It is perfect for wearing with white jeans, but I’ve also worn it with regular blue jeans and even a slip skirt. It is available in many colors, and I also bought the faded denim version. Both of these sweaters can be worn in spring and summer, so you’ll get your money’s worth from them.

I have many denim jackets, but my favorite is the one I bought from Amazon. You could have knocked me over with a feather because I wasn’t expecting to love this jacket. But it has plenty of stretch, so I’m comfortable, and it looks great with everything!

How To Wear White Jeans For Fall And Winter – Try On Haul

Funnel Neck Multi Stripe Sweater (Medium) | Classic Trouser Jeans (Size 8) | | Essa Slip-On (TTS)

Light-wash jeans, like this pair, look casual, while dark-wash jeans look dressier. The natural color I’m wearing with the funnel neck striped sweater can be dressed up or down, making them perfect for creating a winter outfit. A funnel neck works for those who have trouble wearing turtlenecks during the winter season.

If you like soft, comfy, and cozy clothing, you’ll love this Crewneck Sweatshirt in the Splendid Dots prints. This is another whimsical outfit without the holiday vibe. I’ve always been a sucker for polka dots, and apparently, so has Megan.

Audrey Cashmere Sweater – Abstract Floral (Medium) | Jeggings – White (Size 8)

Look how the white jeggings bring out the white in the sweater. I needed to have sized up in the jeggings since they have a slimmer fit. These are similar to skinny jeans, which seem to be coming back in style.

Johnny Collar Sweater – Fireside Fair Isle (Large) | Jeggings – White (Size 8)

This Fair Isle sweater has the same colors as the cashmere sweater above but in a different pattern. I like Johnny Collar shirts and sweaters, but this one is too large. They didn’t have my size, but I wanted to try it on anyway.

How To Wear White Jeans For Fall And Winter – Casually

A column of white (the jeans and a white linen shirt) would look casual with the denim jacket or the deep navy blazer. Cashmere elevates every outfit, but it can be pricey, but Quince is known for affordable cashmere, and this sweater is only $29.90!!! This sweater is lightweight, and is available in several colors. I wear a large in most Quince cashmere sweaters.

My favorite way to wear white jeans for fall and winter is anything casual. Since I don’t work outside the home, I spend a lot of my days around the house and don’t have to get all fancy. I love wearing white jeans with a tee, an oversized sweater, or a great chambray shirt.

This shirt checks off two of those lists since it is oversized and chambray. Like a denim jacket, a chambray shirt is an essential fall fashion item, and it looks great worn in many ways. I love pairing it with a sweater or cardigan, but one of my favorite ways to wear it is with a wool plaid blazer. Here are a couple of blazers the shirt would look fabulous with.

This oversized striped cardigan is one of my favorite purchases from Amazon. I love how soft and comfy it is, but the oversized look is what I love the most. It is currently out of stock, but this one looks similar. I think it looks great with the NYDJ white ankle jeans, and yes…you can wear them in the fall and winter.

I love wearing a column of color because it is a classic style. When you dress in a column of color, you look taller and thinner, but you want to make sure that you don’t look boring. One of the easiest and best ways to add some pizzazz to a monochromatic look is through colors and patterns.

NYDJ White Ankle Jeans | Classic White 100% European Linen Long Sleeve Shirt | Heather Grey Lightweight Cotton Cashmere V-Neck Sweater | Pearl Nappa Leather Crossbody

This outfit is a classic example of effortless style with a modern twist. The column of color created by the white jeans and crisp white button-up shirt is clean and sophisticated, making it the perfect base for layering. Topping it off with a lightweight v-neck cashmere grey sweater adds warmth and an extra touch of elegance without being too heavy. This look is polished yet comfortable, making it ideal for everything from casual outings to more refined occasions.

    What about white cordurouys?

    1. They are fine to wear, plus they are a little warmer.

  2. Cute ideas to keep white jeans in rotation all year long.

Love all the outfits! Getting mine back on now! Thanks Tanya! Happy New Year!🎉🎉

  4. I love the white jeans paired with the chambray shirt from loft, it’s in my cart. Thank you for your most helpful advice!

  5. I like the white jeans with neutrals. I don’t wear them in winter because our summer is so long. Once it’s November and a bit cooler I don’t feel like wearing light colors in pants anyway.

  6. I like the white jeans with the chambray shirt. I always struggle with what shoes to wear. I do not wear heels or wedge shoes.

  7. I love cream colored corduroys but cannot seem to go all the way to WHITE. Old dogs and all that…..lol. I think white exaggerates your weight, lumps and bumps….all seasons. I rarely wear in summer either, for that same reason.

  8. I love the idea of wearing white jeans/slacks year round. You have a lot of great ideas here for inspiration. I love your neutral looks (like tan/taupe with white, and the denim jacket) the best of them all. I think someone in the comments said they love the look of winter white with gold accents, that too would be something I’d love. I bet an all white outfit would look great with a camel coat or some leopard accessories. Hmmm! Time to experiment!

    1. Carolyn, I’ve worn that combination many times, it is one of my favorites.

  9. I promise that next I will leave my white jeans in my closet to be worn.
    Thank you for the inspiration.

    1. I’m glad you are open to trying them.

  10. I’ve never tried the jeggings from Chico, I may need to after this post.
