HOW TO WEAR BLACK AND KHAKI

50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO WEAR BLACK AND KHAKI | FASHION OVER 40 I am loving looking out over the ocean this morning. The sound of the waves helped me to have an amazing night’s sleep. I have one of those sound machines, but they can’t compete with the sound of the real thing. We have friends with us this weekend, my Energizer Bunny Friend and her family came down to spend a few days with us. Joe and Freddy are going to head to the golf course while EBF, her daughter and I head to the pool. It has been a big debate between going to the pool or the ocean. Which is your favorite?
50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO WEAR BLACK AND KHAKI | FASHION OVER 40 I was downloading some new photos from my camera yesterday, and I found these that were taken when I was in Florida a couple of weeks ago. I can’t let an outfit go unused, so today you are getting to see an outfit that I wore out to dinner one night. Kim had rented the jeep, which I thought was very cool, so I had to strike a pose. You might remember seeing me wear this dress when I was in Los Cabo (here) but I wore it with pearls for a dressy look. This midi dress is perfect to throw on and head out the door, and then it is up to you to figure out if you want to look dressy or casual. This sleeveless dress is from Old Navy, and it is on sale for under 30.00. Here is the link.
50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO WEAR BLACK AND KHAKI | FASHION OVER 40 I was shocked that Joe liked this hat on me. I don’t wear a lot of hats because they don’t look good on me. This Panama Hat from GAP (here) is a popular style that I have seen lots of ladies wearing, so I decided to give it a whirl. Remember, you need to go outside your comfort zone occasionally. Anyway, I sent Joe the pic of me in the hat, and he loved it! The terrible thing is, I wore the hat when we went on the paddle boards and I ended up getting it wet. Now it looks droopy and doesn’t have the same shape as before. I only added the Walnut necklace to this look since I was trying to keep everything simple. This necklace has teardrop wooden discs and dark gray beads on a black ribbon that is adjustable up to 49″ long. I like that you can wear it in the length that your top or dress needs.
50 IS NOT OLD | HOW TO WEAR BLACK AND KHAKI | FASHION OVER 40 In case you are wondering about my straw taco bag, it is c/o Rodan and Fields. They gave me the bag when I was in Cabos. I didn’t have time to get it on yesterday’s blog post, but R+F announced 4 new products. I can’t wait to get my hands on these new masks that they have launched. They are the Rejuvenation Mask, Radiance Mask, Clarifying Mask, and Rescue Mask. These masks are a great addition to an existing Regimen, or they can be used alone. As I learn more, I’ll be telling you about these products. I have already placed my order and I can’t wait to play around with them.

you look great! I was wondering the same thing as Kerry…shoes???? they are really cute! also what about the sizing and the fit of the dress if you don’t mind me asking. I like the old Navy Swing dresses but this one looks more form fitting and I am afraid it would fit too snug around the middle which is my problem area. I like the length of it though and like how you made it look dressy. This length would be great at covering the wrinkled knees I seem to have inherited over the years, the swing dresses I have are above knee.

I use my hands to stretch out the dress so that it doesn’t cling to my mid-section. Lol! Here is the link to the shoes.
