CASUAL MEMORIAL DAY STYLE
I love Friday with Friends! It has turned into one of my favorite days to post because I love linking up with a different blogger each week. That is always fun and exciting, but today is going to be my favorite link-up! In fact, this blogger is the whole reason why I started blogging and why I started my Friday with Friends. Can you feel my excitement?
You might have heard me talk about Jo-Lynne Shane before. I had been a fan of Jo-Lynnes, and I thought, “maybe I could start a blog too.” Jo-Lynne has been blogging since 2006 when she started as a mommy blog. She transitioned to a fashion blog, and that is when I found her. She is also formerly a Virginia girl, so maybe that is why I feel a strong connection. I reached out to Jo-Lynne when I first started blogging, and she was gracious enough to link with me (here), which is where the idea for Friday with Friends came from. Please check out her post today by clicking here, and see what she is styling for Memorial Day.
Jo-Lynne and I decided that we would both style a “what to wear for Memorial Day” post. I envision that it would be a casual day, spent with family and friends. So, I wanted to wear red, white, and blue in the post, but I didn’t want to be wearing a flag. I found this cute t-shirt that I fell in love with. It is a heart made up of all of the names of the 50 states in America. I spotted Alaska (where my daughter lived for nine years) immediately, but it took me a little while to find Virginia. This tee is very soft and feels great against your skin, that is a must for me. The print is a puff print, and it features a high-low hemline that is a flattering style. I am wearing a large, and this fits me great. This tee is only $10.00, and you can grab it by clicking here.
My white jeans with the stripe detail are a pair that I recently purchased from Walmart. They are from the Sofia Vergara line, but they are all sold out. They are still available in size 18 and 20, click here if that is your size. This pair does run true to size; I am wearing a size 10. I love a white pair of jeans in the spring and summer; I find myself wearing them all the time. To incorporate a little red in my look, I added a pair of red sneakers that I had monogrammed with my initials. I don’t wear sneakers too often, but I am trying to wear them more since my heel has been bothering me. I found Chuck Taylors on sale at Nordstrom rack, but the sizes are limited. You can check (here) to see if your size is available.
Please check out Jo-Lynne today by clicking here, and make sure that you say “thank you” for me. Without her encouragement years ago, I might not have continued blogging. You might make a difference in someone’s life in ways that you would never imagine.
I do encourage you to please sign up for my daily emails so that you can click on the link and it will take you straight to the post. No more having to remember to type in the name, etc.
Remember to sign up for my daily emails. Thanks so much for following me on my blog. Be sure to follow me on Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook.

That is awesome, Connie! I appreciate that you include me every morning!
That is the cutest tee! I love the red shoes. I meant to put some red in my looks and totally forgot to get anything. #mombrain Thanks for featuring me! I’ve enjoyed watching your blog grow, and I love your storytelling.
I understand about #mombrain, I am more like the scarecrow. #IfIOnlyHadABrain Lol! I love the dupe sandals on your post today, I need those in my life. Thanks for the link-up, and for being so supportive through the years.
Super cute!
Thanks, Desiree!
Hi Tania! I just turned 50 in February and found your blog through Jo-Lynne. Looking forward to all your tips! 🙂
Congratulations on turning 50! This is a great time in life, and I have loved this age. That is when I started a second career. Jo-Lynne is awesome, and I appreciate your checking out my blog.
I just ordered the top! Thanks so much for your post.
You are going to love the top, Rhonda!!!
Cute, cute outfit! Love the T-shirt! It is sold out but I will get an alert when it is back in stock. Cute shoes as well. I have a pair of Ralph Lauren madras plaid similar to your red, so cute!
Oh no!!! I checked and most sizes are still available, I hate that it is sold out in your size. The Ralph Lauren pair sounds cute. I love a madras plaid, but I don’t have any shoes in that print.
Love the outfit, but much too hot here in NC by Memorial Day! Shorts and tank tops are in order here already:). I would have ordered the t otherwise.
Wow! Beth, it is hard to believe that it gets that hot there. I would have thought that the weather would be similar to Virginia. I guess that since I live in the mountains it is cooler there.
I am loving those white jeans…bummed that they are sold out. Did you order them on line or find in store as maybe there would be a possibility I could find them in a store? Cute T also.
Sandy, I ordered the jeans online about a month ago. Check out your store, you might get lucky.
What a cute, casual outfit! I love the tee so much that I just ordered one for myself. Thanks for your terrific blog!
I am glad that you liked the tee, Kim! I believe that you will enjoy it, especially with a casual pair of jeans.
Love Love Love this casual outfit. It really is the perfect outfit for me. I own a pair of red chucks too, but I put an insert in them for better support. Thanks for hooking us up with Jo-Lynne. Her post on shorts was awesome!
Mary Lou, an insert sounds like a great idea. I don’t wear these often, but I am still going to look into that idea. I agree with you about Jo-Lynne’s short post. I love her blog…I want to be her when I grow up. Lol!
Who would have thought to monogram shoes? Cute idea. A special thanks to you too!, Tania. Both you and Jo-Lynne have been gracious enough to share your audience with me and help me get my feet off the ground. Cheers to great friends!!
At one time I would have monogrammed my dog if it would have stood still long enough. Lol! I was on a monogramming mission, and these shoes were one of the items that I monogrammed first. I still love how they turned out. I love your blog, Susanne. Your southern roots resonate with me and you have great style. Plus, Snickers is a cutie-pie!!!
