HOW TO WEAR ANIMAL PRINT WHEN YOU ARE OVER 40
Since I am going to be showing you how to wear animal print when you are over 40, I thought that I would start off by talking about my cat. My cat is at least 10-12 years old, and she has recently decided that she wants to become a housecat. She still likes her independence during the day, so she wants to stay outside. However, once it gets nighttime, she is sitting at the door waiting for me to let her in. She has always reminded me of a dog, and she has now added another “doggie” trait.
My cat will come to the door when she wants in. She will sit and wait for you to open the door, and if you don’t see her fast enough, she raises up on her back feet and tries to reach the handle to open the door herself. Then, when she is ready to go back out, she repeats the process until you let her outside. She has never had a little box, and she goes outside to use the bathroom. BUT, I’ve noticed a couple of times recently, that the dog’s puppy pad is all wadded up into a ball. I was confused the first time, and by the second time it happened, I started to figure out that the CAT was using the pad. It happened again this morning, and I walked into the room to see the pad all wadded up, and the dog looking at it confused. I quickly put down a fresh pad for the dog before we had an accident. Does anyone else have a cat that thinks it is a dog? I had a rabbit once that thought it was a cat and used the cat litter box. Maybe it isn’t the animals that is the problem, maybe it is the humans inside the house that makes the animals crazy. Lol! I blame it all on Joe, it couldn’t be me.
For someone who doesn’t wear a lot of black clothing, I sure am wearing a lot of black clothing lately. Lol! If black is not your color, then choose red for this look. A lot of times I will choose navy over black, but with this skirt, I would go with red, hot pink, or maybe even a white. I’d have to see how the white looks first, but my point is to just experiment with color and see what works for you.
I am wearing one of my favorite camisoles, and even though it is one that I’ve had for over a year, it is still on the website. That tells me that the camisole is very popular or they would have discontinued it by now. I think this v-neck crepe camisole is very flattering, and it looks great worn casually or dressy. It does have adjustable straps, and that is a must for me when I am buying a camisole. I think this runs true to size, and I am wearing a medium.
Have you seen me wear this drape collar blazer before? If not, then you’ve not been reading my blog because I’ve worn it here and here, and I just bought this a couple of weeks ago. It is gorgeous, it is flattering, and it is versatile. It runs true to size, and I don’t know why you are still reading this instead of ordering this blazer. Lol! I am wearing a medium and I think that it fits perfectly.

Let’s talk about animal print for a minute. Animal print is timeless, it is a classic print that has been worn for years, and it will be worn for many more years to come. Some people don’t like to draw attention to themselves when they are over 40, and since wearing an animal print will draw attention, they choose to dress more conservatively.
The funny thing about me is…as I’ve gotten older, I’ve gotten less conservative. I think that I am more like the poem about wearing red and purple as I get older. Lol! So, I love animal print, and I love this tiger print sweater skirt that I am wearing today. This skirt is chic, polished, and classy. I love that you could wear this look to a party or to church, and it would look great either place. The skirt runs true to size, and I am wearing a size medium.
A smaller handbag seems to be the trend this year. This is something that I have been trying to get used to since I love carrying everything but the kitchen sink around with me. I have gotten used to carrying a medium-sized bag, but I am still a work in progress when it comes to a small bag. However, I do like a crossbody bag’s convenience, and I don’t worry about losing my bag when I carry one. This pebbled leather Tory Burch crossbody has a removable shoulder strap so that you can carry this as a clutch for a dressier event.
Because of my bright white legs, I decided to wear knee boots. These pointy toe knee boots by Vince Camuto are a pair that I bought through the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. I loved how they had the brown sole and the black upper, and I thought they looked great with the black and brown print of the skirt. They are very limited in sizes because they have been on sale, so I’ll also find a few other pairs that are similar for you. These do run true to size just in case your size is still available.
Walmart is dropping their 2nd round of Black Friday sales starting at 7:00 am ET today! These are ONLINE specials only, and I went and did a little pre-shopping to show you some of the best deals at incredible savings. I mean a 55″ 4K TV for under $150.00?!? Holy cow! Be sure to check out all of the savings that will be available at 7:00 am.

We used to have a cat when my girls were still home. That cat liked to ride when I was driving the golf cart, he would get on the passenger side and enjoyed the ride. He loved to get praised for bringing us prizes, mice on the front door step. We lived in the country.
