HOW TO EASILY DRESS UP A CASUAL OUTFIT

Are you ready to watch the Kentucky Derby? I love watching the Derby, horses have always intrigued me, and I think they are elegant creatures. I’ve attended two Derbys in person, but I’ll be watching it from home this year. I have friends who will be watching with me, and they came last year too. Maybe this is the start of a new tradition!

Leigh Ann and I had so much fun, and she brought some vintage Derby glasses for our drinks. I love all things vintage, so this was right down my alley!

Freddy and Joe had a great time too, and I think Freddy might have even had the winning horse. Since we’ve moved, we don’t see our friends like we used to, so it will be great to have them visit. I can guarantee there will be several “wow” moments and lots of laughter.

My Saturday style is almost always casual, but I like dressing so that I can go to the store or out to eat. Most outfits consist of a top and bottom, so why not choose cute ones? Adding jewelry will make any outfit look nicer, so think about adding jewelry, even if it is a plain t-shirt and jeans.

I didn’t think I would like this blue leopard ruffle top, and I almost didn’t even try it on. The top looks adorable, and the blue leopard print is unexpected and different. I bought this top the first of April, and I should have tried it on then because it has already sold out in all sizes except XS. Here are a couple of other shirts that I saw in a similar print.

I’m nuts about Lapis, probably because there are flecks of gold in the deep blue stone. This Convertible Gold Long Pendant Necklace is gorgeous, and I love the blue stone. It also comes in Amethyst and Amazonite if the dark blue is not to your liking. I liked the tassel on the necklace so much that I also got the Statement Earrings, but I got those in the Amazonite color. The Insley Gold Hoop Earrings in Blue Lapis look great with the necklace. The stretch bracelets are part of a Mother’s Day Turquoise Bracelet Box Set, and I love that you can wear one strand or all of them. The Snake Wrap Ring is different, and I like the unusual design. I’m also wearing the David Yurman Cable Loop Bracelet that I wear all of the time.

This Tory Burch Ella Canvas Tote is one that I bought last year. I love the neutral colors, and the tote looks great with everything. This exact pattern is no longer online, but there is an updated version with the same colors that look incredibly similar.

Some of you are shaking your head, NO, about these High-Rise White Denim Shorts. I love the raw hem on these shorts, but that isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. These shorts have a 4 1’2″ inseam and a traditional 5-pocket styling. I’m wearing a size 30, but I sent them back and have ordered a 29 instead. They seemed a little baggy on me, but I loved them otherwise. Here are some white shorts that don’t have the raw hem.

I just got these Casual Strappy Sandals the other day. Y’all, they are getting so good at making products that look like leather. I couldn’t believe these weren’t leather; I even had to double-check the description because I would have sworn that they were. These are highly rated, and I see why since they are also comfortable. I did size up a half size, and the fit is perfect. I’m wearing the natural color, and there are several different colors to choose from if this color is not in stock.

I’m wishing all of you an early Happy Mother’s Day. I hope your weather is beautiful, it is calling for rain here, and we even had a tornado warning yesterday. Thankfully, one didn’t appear, but I was grateful for a basement.
