How to Choose the Perfect Pair of Sunglasses

I love a good sunny day! They not only make me happy and brighten my mood, but I also love sunny days because I can add an extra accessory to my outfit… a stylish pair of shades! With so many sunglasses out there, how do you choose the perfect pair that not only protects your eyes but also complements your style and personality? Well, fear not! I’m here to share some of my tips on how to choose the perfect pair of sunglasses.

How to Choose the Perfect Pair of Sunglasses

Determine Your Face Shape

First things first, let’s figure out your face shape. Stand in front of a mirror, pull back your hair, and take a closer look. Are you oval, round, square, heart-shaped, or maybe a bit of a combination? Knowing your face shape will help you narrow down your choices.

  • Oval Face: Lucky you! You can rock almost any style. Wayfarers, aviators, or oversized frames—they all work for you.
  • Round Face: Go for angular frames like square or cat-eye shapes to add some definition.
  • Square Face: Round or oval frames will soften those strong angles and give you a more balanced look.
  • Heart-Shaped Face: Choose frames that are wider at the top and narrower at the bottom to balance out your features. Cat-eye or aviator styles are fantastic options.

Consider the UV Protection

Now that you know your face shape, remember that sunglasses are not just a fashion statement; they also protect your precious eyes from harmful UV rays. Look for sunglasses with UV400 or 100% UV protection to shield your eyes effectively.

Size Matters

Think about the size of the frames. Oversized sunglasses can provide more protection, but they might not suit smaller faces. Petite frames can look adorable on smaller faces but might not offer as much coverage. Find a balance that feels right for your style and face shape.

Check the Fit

Sunglasses that slide down your nose or squeeze your temples can be a real pain. Make sure the sunglasses fit comfortably without pinching or slipping. If they have adjustable nose pads or spring hinges, even better!

Style and Personality

Ultimately, your sunglasses should reflect your personality and style! Whether you are a classic chick, a boho babe, or a trendsetter, choose a style that makes you feel both confident and fabulous no matter where you go.

Try Before You Buy

When you’ve narrowed down your options, don’t hesitate to try on different pairs in-store or use virtual try-on features if shopping online. Seeing how they look on you is crucial before making the final decision.

Splurge or Save

Quality doesn’t always come cheap, but investing in a good pair of sunglasses is worth it. They’ll last longer and provide better protection than cheaper alternatives. I always invest in a nice pair of sunglasses and then purchase a few cheaper pairs to take with me on trips to places like the beach where I might damage or lose them.

Remember that your sunglasses are not just an accessory but an extension of your personality. Embrace your fabulous self, rock your shades, and let your confidence shine through!
