HOW TO BE OVER 40 AND STILL FABULOUS

Let’s face it; some people think that life is over when you turn 40, 50, 60, and so on. Those people feel that older ladies are supposed to look a certain way and can’t still be stylish, sexy, or modern looking. If you wear something that they don’t consider appropriate, then you are trying too hard, or you are acting like a teenager in an older body. If you think like that, or you know someone who does, I have a news flash for y’all. You are only as old as you think and act, and I am here today to show you how to be over 40 and still fabulous!

You’ve already gotten the first lesson, which is attitude. If you think that you are old, then you are going to act and dress in an older manner. However, if you keep your attitude young, your mind open, and are willing to try new things, then you can be any age you want. The wild part is, your mind will go along with you on this. Start telling yourself every day that you feel fabulous, you feel vibrant, you feel sexy, you feel alive, and look yourself in the eye. You might not believe it when you start, but if you do this every day for a month, I promise that you will begin to see a change in your attitude. You work on the attitude, and I’ll help you to dress like someone who is over 40 and FABULOUS dahling!

This pleated-hem top is one of those items that you will grow to love! Anything that blouses out and camouflages my tummy area is A-One in my book! The pleated hem is a unique detail that is super chic, and it is what helps to create the blouson effect of the top. The top is a soft knit that drapes nicely, and you can wear this top with anything. It looks great with jeans, pants, and skirts, and you can wear this casually or in a dressier setting. I am wearing a size 1 in this top, and it fits me perfectly!

I am not sure whether to insert a “meow” or a “Grrrr” tiger growl. If you want to grab your hubby’s attention, strut your stuff into the room wearing these pants, and watch his head turn! These So Slimming Cheetah-Print jeans (yes, they are jeans) are gorgeous! They are so flattering, and the so slimming front panel helps to control the tummy region, and I sure need all the help in that area that I can get. These jeans are comfortable, and they don’t sag or bag, which helps create the long and lean look that we all crave. I am wearing a size .5 in these jeans, and they fit me perfectly. For sizing references, I wear a size 10 in jeans with other brands.

I wanted to give you an up-close look at this Faux-Suede Moto Jacket. Look at that detail on the jacket!!! While I am here up-close, I’ll tell you about the jewelry that I am wearing. The Ryder Statement earrings in gold are multi-link chains that dangle and sway when you walk. They are not heavy, but they do draw attention to your face. The LOVE script pendant is one that I’ve had for a while, and I am still “loving.” This necklace is perfect to wear all year round, but it is especially great for Valentine’s Day. I added my Beckett Statement necklace to this Ryder Multi-Chain necklace. The Beckett is the large gold chain that is around my neck. I wanted to see if I would like that look or if it would make the necklace too heavy. The answer is the first question is YES, and the answer to the second question is NO.

These ankle boots by Marc Fisher are so pretty. I love the light neutral color and the pointy toe. The chunky block heel is more stable than many heels, so those who are not heel wearers will find this look easier to wear. The pair that I am wearing is the Cloud Suede color, and I am wearing my usual size 9. These boots are the pull-on style, so I recommend using a light dusting of baby powder or cornstarch on the top of your foot and the back of your heel to help them slide in easier. That works like a charm!

What about this jacket?!? You gurls know how I feel about a moto jacket; they take 10-15 years off your age! A moto jacket makes you feel hip, modern, and a tiny bit like you are walking on the wild side. I’ve been wearing one since I started blogging, and here is a post from 2015 where I showed a cloth moto jacket. I love the BLANKNYC suede jacket that I recently bought (see a photo of me wearing it here), and I am in the market for a black leather one. I have that jacket on my “Black Friday” list. But, I know that real leather or suede isn’t for some people. A leather moto jacket can be heavy, expensive, and some people prefer the faux and vegan options. This faux-suede moto jacket is perfect for anyone since it is a buttery soft knit material, and it looks fantastic. The hardware is nice and heavy, and the jacket has some stretch and give, so it is comfortable to wear. I am wearing a size 1 in the jacket, and it fits me perfectly.

Do Leopards and Cheetahs fight if they are put together? Probably, but I still choose to wear the two prints in the same outfit anyway. The large leather tote with the leopard print sides and strap is stylish and useful. This tote can be a handbag, but it can also double as a briefcase or a laptop tote. I’ll be using this tote the next time I get to go to a business meeting, blog conference, or an RF Convention.
