GOING GREEN FOR SPRING
I hope you are ready for spring! These spring rains that have about washed us away here in Virginia is ushering in spring at a rapid rate. My Willow tree is green, the forsythia bush has budded out in tiny yellow buds, and I saw a picture this morning from my sister-in-law that showed the buttercups starting to bloom. I am ready to start my happy dance because I am so ready for this cold weather to come to an end. This winter has seemed like it has lasted FOREVER! (Here for blog post associated with this picture)
Before you ask, no I have not changed my hair. The pictures on the blog today are all old, and most of them are from 2016. If you scan through the photos, you might notice a theme…GREEN. Green is serving a two-fold message today for me. One is about spring coming, and the second is to get you in the mood for St. Patrick’s day. (Here for blog post associated with this picture)
Green is not a color that I wear often. In fact, I have very little green in my clothing, and instead, I add green in my accessories. However, I was able to pull up a few photos of me wearing green in the past. (Here for blog post associated with this picture)
When I wear green, it is usually bright green. I love Spring Green; it is probably my favorite color of green. I am not that fond of the olive colors; it probably has something to do with my skin tone. I have seen many ladies who are darker complected wear olive, and they look amazing. In this picture, you will notice that I even brightened the darker forest green with the scarf. If you have been reading this blog for very long, then you already know that a scarf is one of my favorite accessories. The scarf does the same for an outfit that paint does for a room. It changes the look of the whole thing for a small amount of cost. Lol! (Here for blog post associated with this picture)
This is the only photo that is from 2019. I love the gorgeous Spartina 449 scarf that my sister-in-law bought me for Christmas! (Here for blog post associated with this picture)
I think that Joe must have given me his bug from a couple of days ago. I have been chilling and am out of energy. So, instead of my normal style of blog post, I am bringing you this, “get ready for St. Patrick’s day” post. I don’t have any green beer to link to, but I have a lot of green items that will help you to celebrate in style. Because I have readers from all over the world, I am choosing items that are for the cold weather and some for the scorching weather that Australia is experiencing at this time.
I do encourage you to please sign up for my daily emails so that you can click on the link and it will take you straight to the post. No more having to remember to type in the name, etc.

I forgot to say that seeing the difference in your skin over the years is what inspired me to try R&F. Best decision I’ve made in long time. Thanks again.
Hate to hear you’re under the weather. Hope you feel better soon. I too love the color spring green. I just bought the green top from Nordstrom and it was only $29. Thanks for the tip on that one. I have similar top in grey I got there and it’s one of my favorites. Also like the Tennessee scarf you have. I need to find one for Kentucky.
Green is a colour which does not exist in my wardrobe, however, today I have bought a pair of green shoes and now I need an outfit to wear them to 🙂 Love – Jill x
Really enjoyed this post! Not that I am fully retired (at 75!), I feel more interested in how I dress – I wear lots of denim, so enjoyed seeing the various tops – and am starting to use scarves much more! Also – love seeing interesting color combos!
I just love celebrating St.Patrick’s Day since I’m part Irish, and I like bright spring green too! And Im so glad you linked to the State scarf! I got my Texas one and love it! By the way, you look fabulous in that green dress!!
I remember when you did the hunter green sweater photo, loved it then and still love it. And I am finding any post you wear your Vigoss jeans in I love the outfit! I lean to wearing more of a jean that is straight or bootcut even though I do have a couple pair of the skinny jeans. I too have very little green in my closet but should get something fun for St. Pats day.
Love the blast of green from the past. I can’t get over how much younger you look today. R & F rreally works!
Wow! Thanks, Mary Lou! There is no denying that R+F really does work. I would much rather look at pictures from 3 years ago and think that I look younger instead of older. Haha!
I don’t usually wear green, but you have inspired me! I am new to your blog, so wish you could put links to the other posts w/ these pictures. Who knows, they might still be available!! I think my coloring is similar to yours, so I just might have to try. have a great Saturday and feel better!
Sharon, your wish is my command. Lol!!! I just went in and put the links to all of the photos. Now, you can go in and look at all of the older posts.
I think you look great in all shades of green. I love a good olive green with mustard. St Patrick’s day in my family is always celebrated as we come from Ireland originally and it is my grandmas birthday. This year she is 96 years old and still going strong. Happy Saturday xx
Lisa, I can see why St. Patrick’s day is a perfect time for celebrating in your family. You are blessed with longevity in your family also. My grandmother lived to be 103 and my grandfather is 102 right now.
The chalenge for the Stylish Monday is wearing green. Although I love green, I have it in my interiour and all, I had a hard time finding green in my closet! You didn t! Haha, fabulous green dress! Hope to see you on my Fancy Friday linkup party!
Thanks for the invite, Nancy. I am actually styling green on Monday. Lol!
So far Tania-of all the fashion bloggers I have followed so far, I love your style the best! Thanks for the inspiration. Have a great weekend!
Susan, that is so sweet of you!!! Thank you so much, and I hope you have a great weekend also!
