FAUX FUR VEST FOR WARMTH
It has been a crazy week and today is only Tuesday! All the last minute gifts to buy, finishing the wrapping (or in my case starting the wrapping) planning the Christmas meal, and figuring out when everyone can all go to Livingston to celebrate has been exhausting. It is like the old adage, “trying to wrangle cats.” Unfortunately, Joe and I are the cats that are the hardest to wrangle. Lol!
We will have Christmas here in Virginia, then go to Tennessee and have Christmas there. Then we have to go back to Virginia to do the end of the year for the lumber company. It takes a lot of juggling to find a time when all of us can get together. It doesn’t matter that it is not on Christmas Day, I am just thrilled to see everyone. There have been some years when we didn’t get to go to Tennessee until sometime in January.
I love a fur vest!!! I don’t really like wearing coats unless I am going to be outside a lot. If I am just walking from the house to the car and from the car inside to work, then I don’t usually put on a coat. But, there are times when I like just a little bit of warmth and that is where the vest comes in. This vest is multi-colored and not solid like this one I wore the other day. I was looking back to when I first wore this vest on the blog (here) and I am amazed at the difference. I don’t know if is just me but, holy cow! You need to check out that post and tell me if I am crazy, but I think I look much younger. (not looking for compliments) I’m not sure why, if it is the color I am wearing, if it is the hairstyle, if it is getting better at taking pictures, or if it the Rodan and Fields. Either way, I’ll take it. Lol!
Can you see the short necklace is the Annie. This is the perfect necklace for layering. In the past, I would not have added a shorter necklace but I love adding more. Who knows, next year at this time I may be wearing 3 or 4 necklaces. Lol!
Boot cut jeans were the choice for today. I knew I wanted to wear my burgundy/wine Issac Mizrahi wedge booties and I thought the boot cut jeans would look the best.
How do you like this sweater tunic? I LOVE the color! It is a really heavy knit sweater by Louis Dell Olio. I am not a huge fan of turtleneck sweaters because I have a round face. But the color won me over and I liked the overall effect. I am probably the only one who pays attention to the neckline, well besides you gurls now that I brought it to your attention. Haha
These boot cut jeans are the Maurice brand. I have been wearing so many skinny jeans that I thought I would try wearing my boot cut jeans. How do you feel about boot cut jeans?
I finally bought a pair of booties. What type of socks do you wear so that the sock doesn’t show?
I hardly ever wear socks. Lol!
First, I will say you look very pretty in both pics, but your skin does look brighter now and definitely the hair is better now. It looks a little fluffier and a tad longer…You young lookin’ chick!
I was up late wrapping presents last night and still have many more. We have a load of grandkids between us. I could draw a diagram of how that all worked, but I won’t bore you 😉
I have to go to the store this evening too. Santa needs to get goodies for my hubby’s stocking. We won’t go see our kids until New Years weekend ;-( We will be hosting a party at our house Thursday evening for my sweet mother-in-law, that will be celebrating her 85th b-day and her first b-day in 69 yrs without her *Love*
Have a Merry Christmas, you bright and shining Gal, MG
I don’t have stockings for Joe and I:(
You are definitely looking younger in this set of photos! The purple color and the vest are a great combination and look gorgeous on you. I also like your hair just a tad longer, like in these photos. Thank you for having a blog for those of us “of a certain age.” You are an inspiration!
Oh wow – sounds like you have a whole heap of baking to do there Tania – I too would love the recipe for sweet potato crunch!!!
I am beginning to plan 2017 and know I am based in Europe but would love to schedule a get together where over 40/ 50 bloggers from around the world have the opportunity to get together and meet each other in person.
Would you be interested in doing something like this together or do you know of any blogger meet ups happening next year?
Can’t wait to hear from you!

I love this entire outfit! Perfect! I love the fir vest but haven’t tried one yet. Maybe I will get brave! I hope it is the Rodan and Fields. My daughter has been using it and she has me convinced. Gonna give it a try!
You look wonderful! Love the faux fur vest! I’m asking santa for one for Christmas….. fingers crossed my santa husband was listening?. Our dinner will be Pot roast with potatoes and carrots with homemade mac and cheese (ritz crackers on top) family recipe for corn pudding, green beans, applesauce and homemade biscuits. Lots of homemade cookies and 2 dump cakes -Oreo pudding dump cake and spice apple!
The food sounds delicious! You are making me hungry, Lol!
Like the faux fur vest. I don’t even own a vest, not a single one.
I adore the extra flare your vest adds to the look. I’ve also embraced wearing a vest as an alternative to a jacket when staying mostly indoors with only quick trips to and from my car.
