Fall Fashion – Poncho and Fringe
The fashion trends this fall are all about the poncho and of course, fringe. The 70’s boho style is everywhere. Flared jeans, maxi dresses, poncho’s, fringe, and denim and suede are all making a huge comeback. This look has it all, well, except the maxi dress.
This suede purse in old, old, old. It is a Coach that has to be at least 10 years old, if not older. Similar. Note to self, don’t throw out anything. Fashion has a way of recycling itself every 10 to 20 years. There may be a few tweaks and updates, but the basic idea is still there. Be on the lookout for shoulder pads, you know they’re coming.
I decided to wear this poncho from Cato’s, with a plaid shirt I purchased at Bass Pro last year. Â This one is similar. I even had to purchase two of them, one for me, and one for my daughter. The fringe on the poncho brings that 70’s boho look to the outfit. Â Here is a similar one. These boots are another Marc Fisher pair that I found at an outlet in town. The jeans you’ve seen before, and you will probably be sick of them by the time summer comes.
I decided to wear my vintage jewelry. Bakelite was invented in 1909 by Leo Baekeland and became poplar in the 30’s and 40’s. Here is a great article on bakelite and how to test for authenticity. I have on a necklace, earrings, bangle bracelet all made from bakelite.
Suede – check, denim – check, poncho – check, and fringe – check. I even squeezed in another fall fashion must have, plaid! Who say’s you can’t have it all? I appreciate you stopping by, please take the time to leave a comment.

This post was packed with solid advice and ideas. Everyone thinks their blog will stand out but you are more than right in saying that it takes a massive amount of hard work and brain-popping efforts to be unique, be helpful, and provide tantalizing content. As a mystery novelist, my blog is all about establishing my brand and introducing readers to my books. This article will help me find some more drops of inspiration in order to boost the blog. Thanks!
Going through some old posts and LOVE this look. One of my favorites!
Can you share on the torn jeans? would like to know where you got them.
thank you!
Laurie, I looked back at that post, and I think they came from Cato’s. I’m pretty sure I looked at them last night. I purchase almost all my jeans at either Cato’s, Old Navy, or Maurice’s.
Such a great poncho! I’m loving the fringe details, and it looks great layered over the plaid top.
