Rebel – I Want To Be One.

DSC_0013I’ve always wanted to be a rebel. Adventurous, however is not my middle name. That even extends to my wardrobe. I always follow the rules. No white after labor day, horizontal stripes make you look larger, black and brown don’t go together, and you don’t mix prints to name a few. Well, I may never become a true “rebel”, but I have become more and more of a fashion rebel.DSC_0008If you think this post is about fashion, then you are half correct. The fashion part is just a ruse to surprise my sister in this post. My sister just became a PUBLISHED author!!! Her book, “Last in a Long Line of Rebels”, hit the shelves on September 29th. While her book is officially Middle Grade, it is  enjoyable for any age. The story is about a young girl named Lou, who spends her summer vacation trying to save her family home from being condemned. She and her friends encounter a civil war diary that holds many family secrets, and clues to hidden gold. Be sure to pick one up for yourself, your child, your grandchild, or a friend. It can be found at Amazon, Barnes and Nobel, and Books A Million.

DSC_0004It is a really good story, well written and thoroughly enjoyable. I know what your thinking, of course she is going to say that, after all it is her sister. Nope, not a chance. Did I mention, she is my younger sister. So lets take inventory, she’s younger, an author, bigger boobs, skinnier, and now she is famous. Really??? Did I mention she is younger.

DSC_0009If I don’t hear from her, I guess I will know she doesn’t read my blog:( In all honesty, I love her and am extremely proud of her. And besides, I look younger (running joke), and my husband has more hair (no joke). Although adventurous is not my middle name, sarcasm might be.

Linking up with Katherines Corner for Thursday’s Favorite Things, the Fab Journey on her inaugural 1st Link up, and Doused in Pink for Thursday Fashion Files. Be sure to check these ladies out.

UPDATE!!!       Last in A Long Line of Rebels just got picked by Amazon as a “Book of the Month” in the 9-12 yr. old age category.  I told you it was good!

I love your pattern mixing – something I have really never done but will give a try soon!

    1. I have NEVER mixed patterns. I am a newbie on that train. I see others wearing this trend and they look great, I somehow always feel like I missed the mark. Thanks for taking the time to comment, and yes, you need to check out her book. It REALLY is good.

  6. First of all, of course I read your blog! I don’t know what I should wear otherwise! Thank you for the shout-out. I’ve recently learned that you’re a pretty good writer yourself. So you get to be the more mature, more fashionable, great writing, big sister with a husband with more hair? NOT FAIR.

    Thanks again. Love YOU! xoxoxo
