Dressing Room Try On: Latest Styles With J.Jill – Pt. 2
Whenever I go into a J.Jill store, I know I’m going to be there for hours. I do a quick glance around the room, and then I head to the items that catch my eye. It is amazing how quickly I can fill up a dressing room. I wish the rooms were larger so that the clothing wasn’t hanging behind me, but they didn’t ask me for my input when designing the dressing rooms. Lol! I hope you have already read my Latest Styles With J.Jill – Pt. 1, but if not, be sure to check that out. Now, let’s buckle up for Pt. 2!
I thought I would start out with a bright and colorful outfit! How many of my gurls are brave enough to wear these dewberry Cotton-Stretch Slim-Leg Pants? I bought a silky pair of pants from J.Jill in December in this same color. These aren’t as dressy, and I wanted to bring them home with me, but I reminded myself that I didn’t “need” two pairs of pants in the exact same color, especially a color this bright.
Here is a close-up look of the Bird-Printed Boat-Neck Top. If you think the top looks pretty in this photo, you should see it in person! It is a silky feeling top, so it looks and feels luxurious. I kept trying to talk myself out of this top, but it might have snuck inside my bag as I was checking out. Lol!
Can you tell that I love this magenta color? I love bright colors because they brighten up my face and mood, so I am thrilled that J.Jill has started carrying more of them.
I’m glad you can see the top’s texture in this photo. I look for textured clothing since it adds visual interest to an outfit. You should pay attention to the items you purchase and see if they are visually pleasing. Do they have buttons, pleats, prints, texture, or something that helps them stand out from everything else? All the items of your outfit don’t have to add interest, you only want one to be the star of the look.
I’m sure you can pick out the star in this outfit. In movies, all of the main characters need supporting actors. Look at your outfit in this way: The star is the Bird-Printed Boat-Neck Top, and the supporting item is the Linen-Stretch Wide-Leg Crops. They are a gorgeous navy color and can be worn with multiple items without being too memorable. You need lots of supporting items with a smattering of stars.
Doesn’t this outfit look perfect for spring? I love a good white button shirt with a pair of jeans in the summer.
This is not your usual white button-down. It is a tunic length that can be worn out or tucked, but it is the eyelet print that makes it unusual. The top is thin, so you might want to wear a camisole or tank under that shirt to keep it from showing too much skin.
J.Jill carries lots of tunic tops. They are great for wearing with leggings and can also be tucked into pants. This Piped Paisley Tunic is a gorgeous color that can be worn with jeans or pants and would look great with a pair of white pants.
These High-Rise Button-Fly Jeans are a light beige. They are a great neutral that can be worn with many colors and prints. I styled the same pants in navy in Pt. 1, so remember to check those out, too.
J.Jill normally carries shrugs, and I’ve bought several colors from them over the years. I don’t usually get to show them on the blog because they sell out before I can post them. I love the color of the one, and the nubby open knit adds texture like I was talking about earlier. The store only had an XL/3X in stock, but the S/L one would have fit me better.
I added the shrug over this Etched Paisley Dress to cover my arms without adding a lot of heat. Spring can still have chilly days, and I like to have something handy in case I get cold. The dress fits at the shoulders and chest and then flows away from your body. It is perfect for those who carry their weight in the tummy area. 🙋♀️ The dress could also be belted if you wanted it to look more fitted.
I hope you enjoyed today’s try-on haul with J.Jill. This brand carries quality clothing that will last for years.

Thank you for another inspiration weekend. I gives me ideas for church on Sunday. Can’t wait to try the lemon cake. Happy Birthday to Joe!
I was in JJill today and fell in love with the bird print shirt. Out of my price range but oh it was beautiful. I wish I could find fabric like that to sew my own shirt.
Watch for it to go on sale!
Yes, dewberry slim-leg pants. So cheerful. Also the etched paisley dress is really pretty and looks so comfortable
I really like the J. Jill selections! The blouse with birds is lovely! The white eyelet print tunic looks great on! The printed tunic also looks nice for a dressy occasion! Great selections to see! Keep up the good work!
I love the paisley dress. It looks great on you.
I think you NEED the magenta pants. They are a different fabric and would look great on you for the seasons! Love your flats but I have feet issues and do not know if there is a basic color flat similar I could wear. Suggestions from you or readers? (Bunions)

Love the white tunic, paisley top, and magenta pants! You look beautiful in all the bright colors. Happy Birthday to Joe! When I make my pound cake, I butter the pan generously, (maybe a little too much?!). And it gives a crunchy outside but keeps the middle moist and tender. Have a fun weekend!
I’ll try the butter trick today when I make the cake. Thanks for the tip.
Happy birthday Joe. I hope the cake turns out good. Sounds yummy. I love lemon anything.
Tania, I would definitely wear the bright colored pants. I bought a hot pink pair at Belk that I can’t wait to wear. If I didn’t have plenty of dresses, I would consider the one you tried on. You looked so nice in all of the outfits! I can’t wait to see what all went home with you.
Ginger, I brought home a few things, but they are still in the back of my car. Lol!
The spring dress is so cute. Happy Birthday to Joe
I always feel that there’s nothing wrong with having a “back up” pair of your favorite pants lol

Yes, bright colors on you really light up your face.
I love the style of the etched paisley dress but am not a fan of paisley print. Wish it came in a soft floral pattern.
I usually don’t like a shrug, however, I really like how you have styled this pretty blue shrug!!
I love the white eyelet tunic. It’s perfect for Summer. And the dress would be just right for a cruise.
Love J.Jill and everything you tried on. The magenta color is perfect for you!
Happy Birthday to Joe!🎊🎈🎂
