50 IS NOT OLD | DOUBLE RUFFLES FOR A FEMININE LOOK | FASHION OVER 40Gurls, the day has finally arrived. Today is the day when I have run out of things to talk about. Lol! I didn’t think that you would want to hear about me doing some more shopping online. Today, I am headed over to Amazon, and you should too since it is Prime Day! I have an Amazon store where I have started sharing some of my favorite items. I haven’t added any fashion items yet, but I have loaded up with some beauty products. You can see my picks by clicking here. I didn’t think that you would want to hear about me sitting by the pool, working on tomorrow’s post. I didn’t think that you would want to hear about my dog, Lucy Lu…wait, maybe I do have a story for you. Lol!
50 IS NOT OLD | DOUBLE RUFFLES FOR A FEMININE LOOK | FASHION OVER 40So, my dog, Lucy Lu, is a rescue dog, and from what I can decipher, she must have been abused at some point in her life. You can’t walk past her too fast, or she will squeal. You can move your foot too swiftly, you can’t take off your shoes when she is around unless you do it very slowly, you can’t toss her food to catch, and you can’t throw a toy for her to fetch. She will either squeal in fear, or duck like she has had something thrown at her in anger. Lucy is “my” dog. She follows me everywhere, and she sits at my feet while I work. She loves Joe too, he is the one who gives her food from the table, but she is still “my” dog. If I am in the house, she is on guard duty, and barks and growls and everyone who enters, including Joe. If Joe walks over to me, she growls from under the table. If he comes too close for her comfort, then she acts like she is going to eat him up. No amount of scolding will get her to quit. I have tried ignoring her, scolding her, you can’t discipline her since she is terrified of everything. I have no idea how to train a terrified dog. I am open to suggestions, she is such a sweety, except for this one small issue. Oh yeah, and she doesn’t want the grandcat around me either. Lol!
50 IS NOT OLD | DOUBLE RUFFLES FOR A FEMININE LOOK | FASHION OVER 40I love this gorgeous top. I bought this when I went to visit my sister who lives in Acworth Georgia. This was one of the clothing items that I found when I ran into Target for just a minute. Go here to see one of the other looks. I like the leaf pattern of the top, but it is the double ruffle that I love. It is flowy and attention-grabbing, while still looking so very feminine. This top is heavyweight linen and rayon material, and it is machine washable.
50 IS NOT OLD | DOUBLE RUFFLES FOR A FEMININE LOOK | FASHION OVER 40Here is a look from the back. When I turned around to show Courtney, my photographer, she had to get a photo. Look how cute this is! I am wearing a medium, but the sizes are very limited. Here is the link to the regular, and here is the link to the Plus size. Good luck with finding your size.
50 IS NOT OLD | DOUBLE RUFFLES FOR A FEMININE LOOK | FASHION OVER 40I know that these pants look black, but they are a deep Navy. These are an old pair of Pixie Pants from Old Navy. I love my Pixie Pants, they fit me perfectly, plus they come in a wide variety of solids and prints. When I purchase the type that has spandex, like these, then I size up. I usually wear a 10, but I will buy a 12 instead. If they are the chino version, then I buy my usual size. Here is the link to the Navy.
50 IS NOT OLD | DOUBLE RUFFLES FOR A FEMININE LOOK | FASHION OVER 40I wear my Berkley platform sandals a lot. They are a great neutral color, and they will go with almost any outfit, I like the gold zipper; I think that it adds some pizazz to the shoe. Here is the link to the shoe.
50 IS NOT OLD | DOUBLE RUFFLES FOR A FEMININE LOOK | FASHION OVER 40There is one more thing that I can talk to you about. Tonight I am having an online event for my skincare business. Tonight I will be talking about the business of R+F, the Who, What, and Why. Then tomorrow night, my Energizer Bunny Friend, will be talking about the products, and what each one does for your skin. Both of these events will be in a private Facebook group, and you are invited to attend. The “live” presentation will take place at 8:00 pm ET, but it will be available for viewing any time after that. There will be some specials and a few giveaways, so if you would like to request to join the group, click here.

My sister lives in Acworth, Georgia too, right off highway 92 by CVS! Small world.

  2. About Lucy Lu: I’ve had dogs all my life, and my dad was blind and had highly trained seeing-eye dogs. And I also had a Chihuahua, from the Humane Society, who fits your description of Lucy. I know what you’re going through. And one of the best things I’ve ever done in my life was taking the training class at PetsMart, although I think PetCo has equally good classes. The trainers may need to help you in private sessions if Lucy Lu is nervous around other dogs, but either way, the experience will help you build a special bond with her that will amaze you. You’ll be able to communicate with her, and she’ll understand what you want. That was the best hundred dollars I’ve ever spent!!! And we’re tempted to do it again just for the fun of it. Almost every dog can be helped. The trainers know how dogs think and they will teach you things that will add so much to your life. One last thing, the common notion of “discipline” for dogs is sadly erroneous. We are giants and we control the food, and it takes so little for us to confuse a dog and scare the daylights out of them. They don’t understand why we get angry, and they don’t know how to appease us. If everyone could take the training classes at the pet stores, almost every dog and every dog owner would be in a state of unmatched happiness!
As always, I love your outfit…speaking of happiness, you add so much of that to my life!!!

  3. For sure more than feminine, it is an adorable outfit all around, love it.
Your sweet dog sounds adorable, good to cuddle and I am sure you make him feel very loved and safe.

How do we get to your Amazon store? This is new to me – the whole idea of someone having an Amazon store. Thanks.

Hi Tania — I keep planning to write to tell you how much I LOVE the Rodan and Fields products, so here I am! I have been using the Redefine line for about 6 months or so and it is perfect for me. Usually any regimen eventually makes my skin do something unfortunate — like dry up or break out — not this!. And everyone has noticed how much younger and healthier I look! Given that I have been deep in grief for over a year, it is wonderful to be told that I look fantastic again. I wish I had before and after photos to share with you. One extremely happy R+F client! Thanks, Rita

  6. Lovely outfit. The pictures are so pretty too. Gosh, I want those shoes! See you tonight.

Dog Obedience class-it’ s not just about learning to heel, stay, come when called (even though that’s important!).It will give your dog confidence and build trust. The instructors have seen it all and will help you help your little dog!

  8. Love the top and pixie pants are my go to for work!

  9. Darling top and you wear it well! Our daughter and son-in-law have a Yorkie/Pooh mix that is a rescue dog. He too, has many ‘issues’ and is totally untrainable. It’s so sad, in a way, but he is the sweetest dog and definitely my daughters dog! Just takes a LOT of patience with these dogs but they love you unconditionally. Have a great day, Tania!
