Woohoo, it is officially Saturday! I finally have my days straight, and I am ready to sit back and relax this weekend. Who am I kidding? Lol! I have a to-do list a mile long, and I don’t see my list getting any shorter. I recently ordered some curtains for my bedroom, and they finally came in earlier this week. Patience is not one of my virtues, and honey-dos is not one of Joe’s priorities, so I usually tackle projects like this by myself. Well, I got the smaller window finished, but it was a comedy of errors.

The smaller window is over our bed, so to put up the curtain rod, I had to stand on the bed. Since this was a new curtain rod, I needed to screw it into the wall, and for that, I needed a power drill. Joe works on things all of the time, so we have an outdoor garage that is full of his power tools. I went out there to rummage around for a cordless drill, and it took me forever to find one. He has been working on something at another place, so he took a lot of his things to that garage.

After I finally got a drill, I couldn’t find the right bit to go inside the drill. The only one that I could find wouldn’t lock into the drill, so every time that I pointed the drill down, the bit would fall out. Let’s just say that I had to go under the bed several times to retrieve the bit. The bit got lost under my pillows once, so it took me forever to get the curtains hung. When Joe came home, I asked him where the correct bits were, and he went out to his truck and got me one. Then I asked him to help me hang the larger curtain rod since it will take two people to hold up the heavy curtains. Here I sit….patiently waiting…NOT!!!

Before I start talking about today’s outfit, I wanted to make sure that you knew about Soma having a big sale on their bras! Remember when I did my bra post on how to choose the best bra (here), some of the bras that I featured and loved are now only $29 and $39 dollars. That is a great deal, and I highly suggest that you check out the Enbliss Wireless bra, the Vanishing Back bra, and for my larger chested girls, the 3 Inch Minimizer Bra. Also, they are having a 6 for $38 panties sale, so be sure to grab some drawers while you are there. Lol!

Colorblock clothing seem to be trending again this year. I’ve gotten several colorblock cardigans this year, and I love this colorblock chunky knit turtleneck sweater I just got. I still prefer v-neck sweaters the most, but I also love chunky knit turtlenecks too. The only thing that I am picky about is how tightly the neck fits. I want something to be loose and comfortable, and I hate it if I feel like I am being constrained. The sweater that I am wearing is a medium, and I think that it fits great. It is still loose and comfy, but it doesn’t look sloppy.

These high-waist black skinny jeans are still a favorite of mine. I love, love, love, the slight distressing on the jeans, and I love the deep black color. I have these cuffed so that you can see the cute booties, but they can also be worn un-cuffed as ankle jeans. These jeans are by Madewell, and they are a little more than I like to pay for jeans, but I like them, and I am wearing them a lot. I am wearing a size 31, which is a size larger than I normally wear, but they fit perfectly. I will also link to some black jeans that are more affordable and are similar below.

Are you getting sick of seeing me wear these suede ankle boots with the buckle detail? I feel like I am reaching for this pair all of the time, and it is the buckle detail that grabs me. The higher rise is also something that I love this year, and the chunky heel is more stable than a skinny heel. I am wearing my usual size 9 in these, and it fits me great. There are a couple of more colors in this boot, and I’ll link to a few more similar boots.

My jewelry today is from the new fall line at Kendra Scott. I am wearing the Ryder linear earrings and the Deanna long necklace in Obsidian. I love the Ryder line of jewelry since it is a lot of chains, and I love chains!!! The Deanna necklace comes in several colors, and I like the movement of the added fringe. Kendra Scott gifted me the Deanna necklace to try, and I just ordered the Freida necklace to go with it since I liked it so much.

  1. Hello Tanya. I have a few color block items, including lightweight an heavyweight. I just really like them. That bag you’re modeling; I bought online and it came with a smaller shoulder bag. Such a deal. Thanks for helping us gurls stay fashionable.

  2. I just love your funny stories!!

  3. I ordered this sweater in all gray color block and LOVE it! It’s very heavy and I think it runs big. It’s supposed to be the “chunky” type I feel like!

  4. Elizabeth says:

Love the sweater and how you paired with black but then paired with a different color boot. I think I am going to buy that sweater. And the necklace is the perfect touch1

  5. Dear Tania,
I have 3 ad blockers on my iPad and they’ve all started to fail. I cannot read your blog anymore due to hundreds of pop up images linking to stores I’ve never heard of. I support you by clicking thru links to your sponsored items but these ads (also prevents my from reading Jo Lynne as well) are insane. I’m sorry to say so long, but I’ll check on your Pinterest from time to time. These ads may be tolerable on a computer but they take the entire page on an iPad. This started about four or five days ago.
You have my email so you can reply. The ads slow my iPad down so much that it’s taking two or three SECONDS for each word to appear. I love you dearly but this I can’t take. It literally took 5 min to write this.

    1. I have the same problem. Just as bad using a full size lap top! Was able to use “block element” option in ADBlock Plus today, but I won’t tolerate it if I have to do that everyday. Very sad because this is the one blog I look forward to daily.

  6. Those boots really are cute! How comfy? Like walking Disney all day or just to go to Bible Study where I will be sitting? Maybe just a little shopping?

  7. Phyllis Hughes says:

One thing I have learned in 47 years of marriage is not to ask my husband to help me hang curtains. I know how I want the curtains hung and he knows the RIGHT way to hang them. His way! We will argue; he will do it his way and I will be irritated by the curtains until we move. In those days, we moved every two to three years, thankfully. Now, I either find someone else to help me or do it myself.

I love your outfit except for the hole in the knee. I just don’t get buying clothes that have holes in them. To me, they either need to be patched or thrown out.

  8. Tania,
I love your blog, and it has really helped me with styling! What would you wear to an elegant bridal brunch at a restaurant in Columbus, Ohio in November?

  9. Kathie gilmore says:

What size sweater did you order?

  10. Just checked out the sweater and plan to order the exact one you’re wearing. Love it!!!

  11. You wear that sweater well I like the color block. I have black jeans but I always wear black booties with them, I need to get out of that habit! You look great!
