CLOTHING THAT IS VERSATILE AND INEXPENSIVE

Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing a periwinkle blue t-shirt with navy ankle pants, a beige blazer, a long blue scarf, and linen looking mulesI love that spring has sprung, and that summer is right around the corner. When the weather starts warming up, we want to get outside and begin cleaning up everything that has been neglected over the winter months. It has been raining here, so the grass has been growing like crazy. Joe and our son, Joseph, have been trying to keep the grass under control. We try to keep it cut close since the grandbabies play out in the yard. Keeping the grass short helps the chances of a snake getting seen. Plus, snakes like high grass, so we try to make our yards as unwelcoming as possible.
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing a periwinkle blue t-shirt with navy ankle pants, a beige blazer, and linen looking mulesLast night, Joseph came home from work and mowed the grass, then he used the weed eater to do the trimming. He came inside to ask me where the blower was so that he could blow off the sidewalks and driveways. I walked out with him, and we found it hanging up behind the garage. When I went inside, I asked Joe if he had hung it up. He said, “yes, it is beside the weedeater that is hanging up.” Then I asked him, “when did we get two weedeaters?” He looked at me funny, so I told him that there was another weedeater beside my vehicle outside.

After arguing with me that we only had one weedeater, I took him outside and pointed at a brand NEW weedeater beside my car. He felt of the engine, and it was warm, so this was the one that my son had just used. When my son finished blowing off the grass, I asked him about the weedeater. He said that the last time he tried to weed-eat the yards, the old weedeater would quit running after 10 minutes. So, he said I got tired of trying to use it, and I went and got a new one. As I walked off, I said, “who did you charge the weedeater to?” He looked back and smiled, “dad, of course.” Lol!!! I guess that is the price you have to pay for someone mowing and weed-eating your yard. Hahaha!
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing a periwinkle blue t-shirt with navy ankle pants, and linen looking mulesToday is the last day of my series about t-shirts. I hope you have like seeing different styles of t-shirts. Some have been white, some v-neck, some long, and some were graphic tees. The great thing about ALL of the t-shirts is, they are all versatile and can be worn dressy and casually both. Plus, t-shirts are relatively inexpensive, so you can afford to replace them if they get stained or torn.
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing a periwinkle blue t-shirt with gold jewelry from Kendra ScottI have ordered this t-shirt before in a different color, so I know what size fits me best. Usually, I prefer a v-neck top, but this t-shirt is so nice and is at such a great price, that I make an exception. I have this same shirt in white, striped (here is where I wore that one), hot pink, and black. Why would I buy so many of these shirts? They are fine gauge, which means they look and feel expensive. So, I will wear these with jeans, shorts, pants, crops, and shirts. And, when I want them to look dressy, adding a blazer and some jewelry will do the trick. The jewelry that I added is from Kendra Scott, and it is the Avi hoop earrings and the Maggie Bangle bracelet. Both of my jewelry items are in gold-tone.

This periwinkle blue shirt is on a final sale, so you want to make sure that you order the correct size. I prefer a large in this top because I don’t want it showing my lumps and bumps when I wear it by itself. These tops wash up well and still look nice after several times of washing. Here is the link to this tee, and it comes in lots of colors.
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing a periwinkle blue t-shirt with navy ankle pants, a beige blazer, a long blue scarf, and gold jewelry from Kendra ScottThis beige/linen color blazer is one that I bought recently when I caught it on clearance from Chico’s. They only had one of two in stock, so of course, it doesn’t exist on the website now. I have been shocked at how fast clothing is selling out on the websites. I order clothes in, and by the time I can take a photo, they are already sold out. It is crazy!!! I think that everyone is enjoying a little retail therapy, and realizing that these deals won’t be around forever. I have placed several larges orders, one from Talbots, one from Chicos, one from Target, and one from Walmart. So, be watching for those items to show up before long.

Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing a periwinkle blue t-shirt with navy ankle pants, gold jewelry from Kendra Scott, and linen looking mulesI had quite a hard time figuring out my sizing when it came to Chico’s pants. I normally wear a size 10 in most pants; however, when it comes to Chico’s, I have found that I need to size down. The size that I have on is a .5, which is a 6, according to Chico’s. Oh, how I wish that I truly wore a 6, but that is not the case. So, I am just warning you that you might need to size down at least one size in these pants.

These are the Brigitte Back-Slit Ankle Pants in Navy. Like the t-shirt about, I have these in sand and black also. When I find something that I like, I tend to buy more than one. Am I the only one that does that??? Here is the link to the pants.

These backless mules are a pair that I have already worn a lot, and spring is just now getting started. The neutral color goes with almost everything, and I have found that I am being drawn to neutrals this year. I’ve ordered a bunch of shoes to show all of you, and I think they are almost all a neutral color. Lol!  What has happened to me??? The shoes that I have on run true to size, and I am wearing my usual size 9. Here is the link to the shoes.
Fashion Blogger 50 Is Not Old is wearing a periwinkle blue t-shirt with navy ankle pants, a beige blazer, a blue scarf, and linen looking mulesEveryone has their own way of motivating themselves. I am someone who stays motivated when I have a goal to try and accomplish. I have a goal that I set last month in my R+F business, and I have to hit that goal for 4 months in a roll. Last month I hit my goal, but this month I am behind where I need to be. SO, that means that you are going to benefit from my goal setting. I am having a sale of a few of my favorite products, and you can buy them even if you are not my customer. Here is the low-down:

Lash Boost

– Need I say more!!! This little tube of goodness will last you 3-4 months, and it can help you get longer looking, fuller looking lashes. No more extensions, no more glue or magnets. Just one swipe every night before you go to bed. Price as my Preferred Customer is 139.00, but, you will receive a refund of 14.00 PLUS a tube of Body Moisturizer. The Price for someone who is not my customer is 125.00 plus 5.00 shipping, and you will also receive a tube of Body Moisturizer.

Active Hydration Serum – I use this 2x a day. I am obsessed!!! It raises the skin’s hydration level by 200% after just one use and maintains continuous hydration for eight hours. Older skin needs hydration to keep from looking crepey. Price as my Preferred Customer is 100.00, but, you will receive a refund of 10.00 PLUS a tube of Body Moisturizer. The Price for someone who is not my customer is 90.00 plus 5.00 shipping, and you will also receive a tube of Body Moisturizer.

Active Hydration Body Replenish and Redefine Multi-Function Eye Cream – The Active Hydration Serum is for your face, and this Body Replenish is for your body. Look at your skin, does it look in need of a drink of water? Since I have always had skin as dry as the Sahara Desert, this product was the one that I let out a squeal when I heard it was coming. I LOVE this big old jar of goodness. And, the eye cream from R+F is unbelievable. When I started using this eye cream, I had to pull the skin tight on my eyelids before I applied eyeshadow. Now, my eyelids have lifted (no more droopy eye), and I no longer have to pull and tug on my eyelids. Plus, as a bonus, almost all of those pesky crows feet have disappeared. The Price for both of these products as my Preferred Customer is 116.00, but, you will receive a refund of 11.00 PLUS a tube of Body Moisturizer. The Price for both of these products as someone who is not my customer is 105.00 plus 5.00 shipping, and you will also receive a tube of Body Moisturizer.

Hi. I enjoyed your outfit today, especially the blazer. I’m looking forward to seeing more neutrals in May. I refuse to shop at Chico’s because their sizing is absurd. It just doesn’t have to be that complicated. I’d love to see a light grey blazer. Thanks for sharing your ideas.

I cracked up at your comment “Am I the only one…?” By the time this is all said and done, I am sure I will be up ten pounds! No amount of walking my dog (even many two-a-days for her) will keep the pounds off — I want to bake, and eat, and eat some more. I completely sympathize with you! Thanks for making me smile. Have loved the whole series of t shirts and you are beautiful!

  3. I really appreciate all of your postings. Right after I read your blog I go through my closet to see what I have to re-create your outfit. I will often try use your links to purchase an item but once I get through to the “pay now” section I read that “this item is not available to Canadian buyers” or with the exchange rate that “deal” is not so much of a deal anymore. Regardless of all of that, I appreciate you and the normalcy that you bring to my day. Shalom

  4. I love this outfit! And the periwinkle looks amazing on you, and the scarf is a perfect match!

Thank you Tania for posting every day for us. For some reason I feel like our country is finally pulling out of this. I think scarves are going to be a hot item for the near future as they can double as a face covering. I’ve ordered a cute mask from Etsy but haven’t received it yet. I think we will need them for hair appointments, etc. have a good weekend!

    1. I feel like we might be seeing some sunshine. But, I am afraid that it will rear its ugly head again this fall. I suggest getting supplies and putting them back in case we need them again later. It is better to be safe than sorry.

  6. agree that outfit is really cute on you! thx for sharing –

    1. Glad that you liked it, Sandy!

Love that color on you and that scarf is a show stopper! I must have missed it. Where did you purchase it from?
I really enjoy reading your daily blog. It was interesting to visit before the Coronavirus, but now it’s one of the best parts of my day. ☀️
I so enjoy hearing about your family life. Love that you “keep it real.”

Tania, pretty outfit today! Question about the R+F products: how quickly would they ship? I live in North Carolina. Julie
ps I enjoy your blog each morning with my coffee. Thanks for helping me get dressed every day!

    1. Julie, they can ship quickly. If you ordered today, you would probably get the product by the end of the week. I’ll shoot you an email. Thanks or starting your day with me each morning.

Thanks Tania! Love this periwinkle blue color on you! Do you take your photos for your blog with a smartphone or other camera? If so, what kind and do you use it also when you Zoom? I am in the market for one and your pics always look clear and nice! Any editing software that you recommend? Btw, I have these neutral mules from Target and LOVE them! I also have a natural color blazer like this that I purchased on sale at Old Navy and am SO pleased with it. These are two items that are so versatile!

    1. Gail, this color blue is so pretty. I take my photos with a camera and a tripod, but I do ZOOM on my laptop or my phone. My camera is a Canon, and I’ll link to it. I like it because it is a point and shoot, no need for multiple lenses, and I don’t have to know about lighting and shutter speed, etc. https://rstyle.me/+fE3_oNOd3oeiG9XSwlJ5bQ

Love the clothes you wear! I hate clothes shopping and your posts take the agony out of shopping for me. I must have missed it but where did you get your comfy shoes?

    1. Angela, I have grown to really embrace online shopping. I actually HATE going to the stores and especially trying on clothes in those changing rooms. YUCK!!! The shoes are from Target, and there should be a highlighted link that says HERE. I’ll check to make sure that I put the link in the post for you.

    1. Caroline, your comment just brightened MY day!

Thank you for bringing normalcy into our lives. I think many of us are trying to maintain a routine in these uncertain times.
