CHADWICK’S OF BOSTON = AFFORDABLE AND QUALITY

50 INS NOT OLD | AFFORDABLE AND QUALITYMost of you know I am from a small town in Virginia that has very little shopping opportunities. You may not know that it has always been that way for me. The town where I grew up was just as small, and had even fewer places to go shopping. As I got older, I moved to a town with more clothing stores, but I had no money to go shopping with. Working in an environment where you needed to look professional was a strain on my already tiny bank account.50 INS NOT OLD | AFFORDABLE AND QUALITYThose were the days of catalogs, back when online shopping was still just a dream. After a few hits and misses, I found Chadwick’s of Boston and I was thrilled. I would get out my Chadwick’s of Boston catalogs, and pour over them looking for just the right items. I needed pieces that were affordable, but they had to last me for a few years, so the quality had to be good. I worked in an accounting office where I dealt with individuals who had a lot of money. When I wore the items from Chadwick’s of Boston, I felt comfortable in the way I looked.50 INS NOT OLD | AFFORDABLE AND QUALITYA Chadwick’s of Boston catalog has not been in my mailbox in years, so I was surprised when I was contacted about doing a post. All those memories came flooding back to me as I started scanning their clothing, this time online instead of in a catalog. I knew I wanted a nice blazer, one that I could wear this fall and winter. I also wanted a classic style blazer that I could wear for years to come. I found that and much more in this Wool Herringbone Blazer.50 INS NOT OLD | AFFORDABLE AND QUALITYThis Herringbone Blazer is 100% wool and features a three button closure. I always think of Stacey and Clinton, from the hit TV show What Not To Wear, when I see a blazer with three buttons. Their advice was to make sure your blazer will button, even if you plan on wearing it open. I chose a size up because I intend to wear the blazer with a thicker turtleneck or sweater this winter. There is an excellent sizing chart for your convenience that will help you pick out the perfect size for you. Chadwick’s of Boston has ALL of us ladies in mind because they offer styles in Tall, Petites, and Plus size women.50 INS NOT OLD | AFFORDABLE AND QUALITYThis view shows the back vent which makes moving and stretching easy. 50 INS NOT OLD | AFFORDABLE AND QUALITYThis blazer meets all my needs, it is modern yet classic, it is affordable, it fits nicely, it is made well, and it is stylish. What more could I ask for? It doesn’t matter if you are a housewife or an executive, Chadwick’s of Boston has a look for you.50 INS NOT OLD | AFFORDABLE AND QUALITYI am so glad that my old friend, Chadwick’s of Boston, is back in my life. I hope to be adding a few more items to my wardrobe soon, starting with this ribbed turtleneck sweater. It would go perfectly under my new blazer.

I was in banking for many years and did most all my shopping through Chadwick’s of Boston catalog. I loved the professional classic styles they had to offer and as you said it was affordable for a working girl with a family. Thanks for the memories. Can’t wait to look them up again.

Great outfit, this one especially caught my eye, because of the blazer. I’m there with you on not giving them a thought for years, then just this year I requested one of their catalogs. I was looking for a classic navy blazer, similar to one you styled some time ago. I think yours was from JC Penney? Anywho, I never ended up ordering as our weather went from cool spring to broil, until a few weeks ago. Seeing this herringbone blazer has got me going back online to check out what they have for fall! Thanks for the “nudge”!

I really like this outfit especially on you! I wouldn’t have thought to put the jean shirt, pearls and wool herringbone jacket together. Very Sharp. I too forgot about Chadwick’s and I’m from Boston…HA! My sisters are all petite with myself being the “tall” one at 5’4″. I will have to remind them of Chadwick’s, petite sizes are hard to come by. Thanks Tania. I might not comment but I follow you everyday and enjoy your posts.

  15. That is a fabulous look Tania! Love the pearls and chambray, once upon a time I was tall and loved being able to find & order tall sizes from Chadwicks. It seems now that I am the incredible shrinking woman, tall jeans and slacks are too long. Hope you have a great day!

Thanks for reminding me of this great place to shop. I love the necklaces, too… please let us know what they are along with the bag that just ties it all together!

Beautiful Tania! I love the look and also Chadwicks. Back in the 90’s I worked for a Dr’s office and we did not need to wear uniforms but look professional. I was just starting out and money was tight. I found affordable and professional pieces in Chadwick’s Catalog. I always felt so nicely dressed and comfortable in their clothing too. Glad to see they are still around!

  33. There’s no question that a military jacket is a never-goes-out-of-style classic. I wear my husband’s old army shirts and jackets around the house, and I love them. My favorite military jacket is a brown, military “style” jacket with big brass buttons that I bought years ago at Talbots. It’s washable and goes with everything. Great post.
