CASUAL AND AFFORDABLE FASHIONS FOR OVER 50

Mondays are a time of new beginnings. It is time to reset the week and start all over again. This Monday, I am traveling back to the U.S. after a wonderful and relaxing time in Belize. Joe and I are more into relaxing than we are into tours. I work so much with the blog and social media channels that taking the time to relax is not something that I do often. This trip was an eye-opener since I found time to relax and still managed to work some every day.

I’ve had a few questions about where we went, where we stayed, and the details of traveling. We went to San Pedro, Belize, and stayed at the Grand Caribe Belize Resort the entire time. My daughter stayed with us for several days, but she also traveled to Bocawina and Dangriga. She is more into the tours instead of relaxing. You do have to have a passport and proof of being fully vaccinated or a negative COVID test within 2 days of travel to enter the country. When we left Belize, we also had to have a negative COVID test before we could re-enter the U.S.

Mondays are also about affordable fashions. You might not be on a budget for clothing, but why would anyone want to pay more for clothing than they have to? Certain classic items can be an investment, and you will wear those for years. Modern and trendy clothing might be something you will only want to wear for 2-5 years or more, so they are items you might not want to spend a lot of money on.

This navy and white short sleeve woven blouse can fall into either category. Navy and white are a classic color combination, but the blouse is also modern looking. The blouse is soft and silky feeling against my skin and I like the short sleeves which are flowy. I made the mistake of ordering a large, but I’ve figured out that a medium is what fits me best in this brand.

This is an Amazon Essentials Brand, and like all retailers I shop, I find certain brands that I know will be of good quality. There is also a Prime Try Before You Buy service that allows you to order up to 6 items (everything is not eligible), have them shipped to your home for a free 7-day try-on period, and then you ship back what you don’t want. You are only charged for the items that you keep, but you have to let them know what you intend to keep and return by the time the 7 days are up. They will send email reminders so that you don’t forget.

The Danielle Gold Link Earrings in Ivory Mother-of-Pearl are a pair that I’ve been wearing a lot this spring. I love the gorgeous ivory mother or pearl drop which can be removed if you want to only wear the huggie earrings. That gives you two different looks for the price of one. I’m also wearing my 18 Kt. Gold Vermeil Cross Necklace, the Elaina Stretch Bracelet that is surrounded by genuine White Pearl beads, and my David Yurman Cable Loop Bracelet.

For my jeans, I ordered the Mid-Rise Girlfriend Crop Jeans in a medium wash. I am just getting used to the relaxed jeans after wearing skinny jeans for so long. The girlfriend cut is a nice medium relaxed fit while the boyfriend jeans are way more relaxed, or what I call baggy. Lol! Even when I order girlfriend jeans, I will usually size down to keep them from looking so big on me. I’m wearing a size 8 in these, and I like how they fit and look. These are almost out of sizes, so I’ll link to similar jeans for you. Keep checking back if you like this style because they usually restock often.

I’m wearing a pair of Golden Goose look-a-like sneakers. I couldn’t justify spending $500-$700 dollars for a pair of sneakers that I would get tired of, so I ordered these online. My DIL sent me a website in October, and I can’t remember the name, but I found some that will give you a similar look.
