AFFORDABLE DRESSES FOR WEDDINGS, SHOWERS, AND GRADUATIONS

It’s almost that time. I’m talking about the time of the year when we have graduations, baby showers, and spring weddings. These events are so much fun and each one calls for a pretty dress. I hate spending a lot of money on something I might only wear once, so these three affordable dresses will sure come in handy.

Once spring and summer roll around, I start gravitating toward florals and brighter colors. I’ve already started wearing brighter lipstick, and a lot of the clothing I’ve recently ordered are bright colors.

Neutrals are always appropriate and never go out of style. Neutrals are classic and elegant, so if in doubt about what to wear, you can fall back on neutrals. I try to showcase affordable fashion on Mondays, and when I found these three outfits, I knew they would be great for this post.

Let’s start with this floral print long-sleeved top and skirt. This mixed print has a tiny ruffle that runs down the long sleeves that adds a feminine detail. I love the relaxed and elegant look of this top, and you will see me style it with some jeans soon.

This top and skirt would look great for a spring wedding or a baby shower, especially if it’s going to be a boy. I wasn’t sure what size I would wear so I ordered a medium and a large, the medium ended up being the size that fit.

I wanted to add a pop of color to this outfit, so I put on my shocking pink lip stain, a pair of pink pumps, and carried my new beaded pink clutch.

This is such a cute beaded clutch with the bright green and yellow strapped and the bee detail in the center. The clutch will surely gather attention and it is large enough to carry your lip stain, your phone, and your keys. This is fun and cute, and perfect for when you want a pop of color.

The tiered matching floral skirt has an elastic waistband in the back and it is a midi length. The skirt and top both feature navy and white print with pops of periwinkle throughout. Remember, Very Peri is the color of the year this for 2022, so this top and skirt will be right on trend.

Here is the back view of the skirt. I’m wearing a size large, but it is actually too big for me through the waist. I should have ordered a medium instead.

There are times when you don’t want to stand out, you just want to blend in. This beige and white striped sweater set is classic and elegant looking. The dress is a tank top style, a midi length, and features a split at the hemline. The cardigan topper, which can be worn open or closed, will also look great with ivory pants later this summer. You might see this look on the blog soon.

I added a leather small handbag that I bought last fall. The handbag is no longer available on the website, but I’ll see if I can find something similar. The necklace is one that I’ve had for years, and I purchase it from TJ Maxx. My earrings are my favorite Kendra Scott large hoop earrings and I’m wearing a Maggie filigree bracelet and silver and gold.

Joe loved the look and I actually talked him into having a couple of photos with me. We haven’t had photos made together in a while, so I was thrilled that he agreed. I just now noticed, our outfits match. Lol!

You are sure to get noticed in the bright pink and red floral dress with the matching red trenchcoat. This is an outfit that looks extremely expensive but is actually very affordable.

I love the neckline of the dress, with the small ruffle at the top and the tie. However, I have a long torso, and the waistband of this dress hits me in the wrong spot. I am wearing a medium in the dress, and I wondered if the large might fit better, but I think it would be too big under the arms for me if that was the case. I love the sleeves and the tiny ruffle at the bottom but unfortunately, this dress is going to have to go back.

I’m carrying another beaded clutch in a floral pattern. It has a background of gold and then a red, pink, green, and blue floral pattern. Like the other clutch, this is big enough to carry all of your essentials.

This belted trench is to die for. I love, love, love this trench. The lining of the trench matches the floral dress, and when worn together, the outfit looks extremely expensive. I wasn’t sure about a size, so I ordered a large to be on the safe side.

However, the trench is too big for me, and I even have it tied in the back. This material is a lightweight silky material, not a heavy trenchcoat top material. I think it is very dressy and classy looking.

I added the red beaded heart earrings from Kendra Scott. I love the color of the Red Kyocera Opal, but they are also available in three other colors.

Update…my daughter is back in the lower forty-eight! I drove to Tennessee and picked her up at the Nashville Airport. We will spend a couple of days with my mom and dad. I’ll get to see my son and his family, my brother and his family, and my sister is also driving up. This is the first time that we all are getting together to celebrate Christmas.
